Manipulation

Months went by, Tarik and Miriam were extremely happy (loved poured out of their auras)! Lover boy would take his most significant other everywhere; he’d parade her at the best restaurants, esplanades, bars, clubs and…at his office. «Where are we going today, love?» asked Miriam while getting in the Jag «Today I’m taking you to the construction site of my newest ethanol plant» replies a proud Tarik while cleaning the window-shield of his car with the sleeve of his coat. [Cell-phone ringing] They both look for their mobiles and Miriam says, «It’s mine, dear! Hello…not a good time to talk…I am not at home…I don’t have my laptop on me [she plays with the cross hung over her chest…Tarik observes her]…dunno, dunno what time I’ll be there…I’ll call you, bye!» Tarik takes hold of her cross (while brushing softly against her left breast) and says «Gorgeous piece: platinum with ruby, topaz, emerald, turquoise…[not sure of the following stone]…a sapphire, a diamond, a jacinth, and agate…an amethyst, a beryl; this one is an onyx (love this stone) and jasper…wow, Miriam, did you have it made?» with glittering eyes Miriam smiles «My dad gave it to me upon my 21st birthday; we are Christians!» Tarik laughs out loud «You don’t say? I wonder what gave you away [while relinquishing the jewel]» he starts the car…
At the construction site, in Grimsby, Tarik encourages Miriam to take a look around the place while he talks to the architect and advisors. Miriam pulls him by his tie, kisses him passionately and lets him part…Tarik softly licks his own lips and walks away while smirking…
Miriam strolls around the site: she turns right, then left; she gets down, grabs a hand full of soil, holds her cross, and seems to be talking by herself! From afar a couple of advisors follow her moves «She is acting rather strangely, isn’t she? Why is she turning right, left and playing with that jewel around her neck? Rather suspicious…» «Oh, for heaven’s sake, Mildred! Don’t tell me that you have been reading those spy books again…you are such a paranoid!»
[Cell-phone ringing] «Hello! Selene! [“Shalom, Miriam!”] Shalom, dear! [“Free to talk now, eh?”] Absolutely! [“The received images are perfect. However you need to go back to his office and capture a new image of the Investment Agreement!”] Will do…Lehitraot ["Lehitraot!"]»… [1]

Jardim de Belém, Lisbon.
Paul looks around and sees her, then walks up to her, places his hand on her shoulder and says «Shalom!» she turns with a broad smile on her face «Shalom, Saul! How are you since yesterday?» «I’m in utter bewilderment…you are dreadful!» «Well…did they fall for it? Did they believe that I’m Her?» «Absolutely! By tomorrow we’ll have met to plan your suicide…» Sheela covers the garden of Belém with a loud yet warm laughter (Paul thought her to be a very striking woman: tall, slender, long neck; a gorgeous oval face, a complexion coated by milk chocolate, mysterious black eyes, long wavy black hair [“Real hair!” he says to himself], white teeth [“Ah, Saul…I see that Opus Dei didn’t kill your humour lol!”] and kissable fleshy lips. She was wearing black silk trousers, a see-through tunic with a top underneath it; her feet were adorned with cerise high-heeled sandals)…«And to think that She is so much light skinned than you are, Saul!» «I know, it’s rather shocking!» «Anyway, H.Q considered the dinner a success and we owe it to you, darling!» «Thank you, Sheela! By the way is the “fiancé” the real one?» «Ha, I wish he were…She is so lucky, what a man! I’d do anything to be near him, even if for 5 minutes…but then I’d be dead! No, my “fiancé” is a co-worker and co-workers are off limits, dear [“What a pity!” Paul thinks]! Walk with me, Saul; we’ve been here for too long and there is a lot to be discussed yet! Let’s taste some “Pastéis de Belém”!» «Yes, let’s!»...
From across the road, in a car, a trembling Julie observes them through a pair of binoculars «Ah, Paul...I knew it! A woman always knows [shedding a tear]…you told me that you were coming to work…some work you’re doing! [Cell-phone rings] Hello…[“Julie, it’s your mom!”] oh, mom…[“What happened? Are you crying, honey?”] It’s Paul, mom…[“What…he didn’t give you the diamond bracelet you wanted or something?”] he is cheating on me, mom [“Oh, that…well, what did you expect? Do you know how many hours you spend at church nowadays?”]…With an Afro- European or whatever they call themselves these days [“I’ll be damned! He’s better than I thought…who would think that little Paul liked a colour in his life? It’s time for you to get pregnant, Julie!”]…You think so, mom? [“He’ll support you and the child for life! Listen, I have been reading about these Opus Dei men…they are very responsible!”] May God help me, mom; but you are right! [“Ain’t I always?”] Yes…

    Well done!

It’s nice to see Miriam has gone from obsessive observation of Jags to actual riding around in one; of course this seems part of the “game”!!!

    You said:
Tarik takes hold of her cross (while brushing softly against her left breast)

    I respond:
Always so much sex!!! LOL LOL

    You said:

I wonder what gave you away [while relinquishing the jewel]» he starts the car…

    I respond:

    I respond:
With all of the “Shalom-ing” going on there may be a connection between Opus and Miriam!!!!???

    Nice Paul/Saul blend….

    You said:
«I’m in utter bewilderment…you are dreadful!» «Well…did they fall for it? Did they believe that I’m Her?» «Absolutely! By tomorrow we’ll have met to plan your suicide…»

    I respond:
I’m hooked if there is interest from others a follow up is a must!!! You turn the corners in your writing so smoothly….better than a Jag…maybe more like a black panther…. LOL

    You said:
Sheela covers the garden of Belém with a loud yet warm laughter (Paul thought her to be a very striking woman: tall, slender, long neck; a gorgeous oval face, a complexion coated by milk chocolate, mysterious black eyes, long wavy black hair [“Real hair!” he says to himself], white teeth [“Ah, Saul…I see that Opus Dei didn’t kill your humour lol!”] and kissable fleshy lips

    I respond:
Manipulations alright!!!! Is this a reference to another garden??? I love milk chocolate, she sounds like a lovely lady… This detail of a woman in a garden seems rather familiar but different….Could it be….another secretive organization????? LOL

    You said:
She was wearing black silk trousers, a see-through tunic with a top underneath it; her feet were adorned with cerise high-heeled sandals)…«And to think that She is so much light skinned than you are, Saul!»

    I respond:
    Sheela eh? Interesting….

“I’d be dead” cuts a groove so well at that conjuncture…..

There is so much potentially going on here that the possible manipulations abound!!!!

    “Pastéis de Belém”!»??? More please…..

    You said:
From across the road, in a car, a trembling Julie observes them through a pair of binoculars «Ah, Paul...I knew it! A woman always knows [shedding a tear]…you told me that you were coming to work…some work you’re doing! [Cell-phone rings] Hello…[“Julie, it’s your mom!”] oh, mom…[“What happened? Listen, I have been reading about these Opus Dei men…they are very responsible!”] May God help me, mom; but you are right! [“Ain’t I always?”] Yes…

    I respond:
“binoculars” LOL LOL Just happened to have them…. LOL

The question is what kind of work indeed????? And is he being worked upon? And by whom? Etc?

Julies mom kills me!!!! She is a twisted character!!!! LOL

The hours at church line is hot!!! Well done, soooo Julies mom!!!! Great line…

    Jewels every where…..interesting….

Is there a conversation going on about “Afro- European” descriptions and identities in Europe?

The pregnancy card!!!! Interesting strategy from the lady in Winnipeg!!!

    “very responsible”!!!! LOL

Sure makes you wonder if Julie really is a Christian….interesting manipulations again...

  5. Hello LS!!!

Such a pleasure to see you here :D!

"My congratulations on a splendid weaving on manipulations and relationships!!!" - thank you so much, my friend *bowing*!

"Let me zoom in a bit…." - lol....

"I love the love pouring out of their auras section!!!! LOL" - LOL that was not what I had originally written last week, but then on Saturday I thought to myself "Let me insert a bit of mysticism in this part, just for LS!" LOL LOL...

"LOL As opposed to his other not quite so significant others!!!!???? LOL LOL Well done!" - LOL LOL LOL exactly; Tarik is a dog (and now that I know about the stunt he pulled with Calamus Abditus, I reiterate his dogness LOL)! Thank you *bowing*.

"It’s nice to see Miriam has gone from obsessive observation of Jags to actual riding around in one; of course this seems part of the “game”!!!" - LOL yes, it is all part of the game. Since Tarik is soooo vain, she had to massage his ego first and then attack LOL...

"Always so much sex!!! LOL LOL" - LOL LOL sex is part of life, is it not? And since I talk about life... :)

"Choice my dear choice!! Very nice sounds like descriptions of the New Jerusalem from Ezekiel and/or Revelation. Or is it something else entirely!!!!!!?????" - lol it is Exodus and the breastpiece of judgement! I am glad you liked it :)....

"A ruby….hmmmm, tangled webs of manipulation…" - LOL Anna had one on her jacket, right :)? By the way her attire was excellent; she looked fly yesterday LOL....

"Interesting kinds of “Christians”…..manipulations…." - do you think that she is a Christian for real?

"My….she is quite something; one must keep an eye out for those call center people…." - LOL LOL LOL you know? Who would have thought that kind and considered Miriam would be so perky? LOL...

"Masterful manipulations….very well written Max!!!" - thank you so much, my friend *bowing*! What a compliment... :D

"Great section!!!! What is she doing????!!! Industrial sabotage??? Or is it us being manipulated??? LOL Very well done; Maestro Max…." - merci, LS *bowing*! She is doing her job, man LOL! Manipulation is the name of the game LOL! Maestro Max...I like that; but call me that again in a phew years LOL....

"Mildred may be a guest at Life on the Blade!!!! LOL" - LOL LOL LOL...everybody can be a guest at Life on the Blade :)

"You have me looking over my shoulders :)" - LOL LOL LOL *nodding*...are you paranoid too?

"Industrial sabotage OR a perfect fit with my article!!!!!!!!????????" - LOL I would say that this time we were in synch, LS! I even checked my email account to see if I hadn't sent you the concept of my article while sleep-walking LOL LOL...but no, I didn't! LOL...

"**Shaking my head** Very nicely done Max…." - thanks, mate LOL....why are you shaking your head?

"Very nice…you know Lisbon looks like an ok place… LOL (Beauty)" - LOL LOL Lisbon is a gorgeous place :)! Eça de Queirós used to say that outside Lisbon Portugal doesn't exist!

"With all of the “Shalom-ing” going on there may be a connection between Opus and Miriam!!!!???" - Noooo, Miriam is simply Shalom LOL... :).

"Nice Paul/Saul blend…." - is Paul Saul or is he Paul? :)....

"I’m hooked if there is interest from others a follow up is a must!!! You turn the corners in your writing so smoothly….better than a Jag…maybe more like a black panther…. LOL" - You reckon? LOL LOL black panther, moi? How chic....but, hey...isn't that Ana? :)

"Manipulations alright!!!! Is this a reference to another garden??? I love milk chocolate, she sounds like a lovely lady… This detail of a woman in a garden seems rather familiar but different….Could it be….another secretive organization????? LOL" - LOL manipulation is everywhere :). Our beloved Eden, in Cush :). She is lovely indeed...LOL of course she belongs to a secretive organization...

"Hmmm I wonder who the designer is????? No rubies??? Interesting…." - LOL a suit like this...only one name comes to mind: Armani! She is a ruby herself, so why add more lol :)?

    "“She”…?? Oh my…." - LOL LOL....

"Sheela eh? Interesting…." - Sheela was replacing She...but there is another royal reason behind this name... :)

"“I’d be dead” cuts a groove so well at that conjuncture….." - lol indeed....

"There is so much potentially going on here that the possible manipulations abound!!!!" - LOL it calls for more, doesn't it? I love this section myself...I had so much fun writing it!

"“Pastéis de Belém”!»??? More please….." - you never heard of Pastéis de Belém (isn't there a small Portuguese community)? It is a traditional pastry with cream from Belém; check them out: http://www.pasteisdebelem.pt/index.htm
And then you have the Pastéis de Nata (which derive from the original Pastéis de Belém yet slightly different - the pastry is thicker than the original ones): http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/57/Pasteis.jpg
    They are delicious MMmmmmmm!

"“binoculars” LOL LOL Just happened to have them…. LOL" - LOL this is the movie twist in it LOL! Have you noticed that in Survivor, for example, those girls have always their legs shaved/waxed? How, if allegedly they are devoided of their personal items at the start of the show? And have you noticed that in the movies when someone cuts their own hair, in the end it always looks great (as if a hairdresser had worked on it)?

"The question is what kind of work indeed????? And is he being worked upon? And by whom? Etc?" - his work is to collect information on She for the O.D; and at the same time he works with Sheela...

"Julies mom kills me!!!! She is a twisted character!!!! LOL" - LOL Elizabeth is terrible!!! But you got to admit that she pulls a laugh or two lol...

"The hours at church line is hot!!! Well done, soooo Julies mom!!!! Great line…" - lol thank you *bowing*!

"Jewels every where…..interesting…." - Espionage, sex and jewellery walk hand in hand LOL...didn't you watch "007 - Diamonds are forever"?

"Is there a conversation going on about “Afro- European” descriptions and identities in Europe?" - no, it just irritates me these social counterfeits: Afro-American, Afro-European, Afro-Brazilian etc! It is ridiculous cause there are Africans who are white, asian etc; so when you refer to someone as Afro-European it could be a white person, or a Chinese descendant born in Africa. Why are humans so afraid of calling things by its names nowadays? Black is black, caucasian is caucasian, asian is asian, etc is etc....

"The pregnancy card!!!! Interesting strategy from the lady in Winnipeg!!!" - the oldest trick in the world!!

"“very responsible”!!!! LOL" - LOL LOL quite a dichotomy, eh? LOL...

"Sure makes you wonder if Julie really is a Christian….interesting manipulations again..." - that was the intention! Thank you, LS *bowing*!

"So many strataGEMS going on here…." - LOL "strataGEMS" LOL *clap clap clap* very good lol!

"Excellent Max, really very good, loved it!!!!" - I am sooo glad that you loved it :D! Merci bien, mon ami :D!

"I feel more manipulated than all the characters!!!!! LOL Excellent!!!!" - LOL LOL LOL do you? One wouldn't say by your article...awesome article if I may add! I absolutely loved it...I was hooked! :)

LS, thank you so much for this great comment, it was fun going through this article with you :)!

    Cheers

  14. Max, you are so good at conjuring detail, and we all know that the proof of the plot-pudding is in the detail!

Have you tried novels? I saw on your profile that you have an editing position, if my memory serves me correctly. That makes sense, in view of your incisve intellect, which begs to create a larger plot, I believe!

  15. Max dear I don't think I need to buy another book, lol. The story is very interesting, I love it. I wonder what will happen next, but I guess I will have to wait patiently, lol. Thanks for writing this another great chapter of suspense. Anna :)

"Have you tried novels? I saw on your profile that you have an editing position, if my memory serves me correctly. Your memory serves you correctly...
Wow, thank you, Lynda...I am like "wow" (nearly speechless)...I think I am embarrassed lol ;).

I am glad that you guys like it though ;D!

    Anna, you are just great!

  19. Max,
I can only imagine the love pouring out of their auras. ;D

"Today I’m taking you to the construction site of my newest ethanol plant."

Why on earth would he think that Miriam would want to ingest those noxious ethanol fumes?

"...she plays with the cross hung over her chest..."

Did she think she was going to get a message from God?

"Miriam pulls him by his tie, kisses him passionately and lets him part..."

Now a little S&M? Where are the leather whips and chains and the dominatrix outfit?

The plot thickens. Miriam is a covert one. What is going to do set him up?

A fake suicide, murder, intrigue, deceit, you could live in Hollywood Max.

"Sheela covers the garden of Belém with a loud yet warm laughter (Paul thought her to be a very striking woman: tall, slender, long neck; a gorgeous oval face, a complexion coated by milk chocolate, mysterious black eyes, long wavy black hair."

Sheela sounds elegant. Is Sheela a woman or an Afghan hound?

    “Real hair!” ROFL

Poor Julie. With a sympathetic mother such as hers, who need enemies?

"It’s time for you to get pregnant, Julie!”

Nooooooooooooooooh! That's the worst thing you can do Juilie. Why get pregnant, put stress on yourself and the unborn child and then bring that child into chaos. Nooooooooooooh! Get out. Walk. Run. Do what you have to do. Or at least go shopping and "Hit 'em Upstyle." (the song by Blu Cantrell)

Okay Max, you have to get Julie out of there before she makes matters worse. We're counting on you.

    Safe & Warm Cheers

  20. Max,

That's great! You should do it!

Have I ever told you that I have written four novels and many stories and poems? I have two novels that are dear to my heart, while the other two were more for fun and for seeing if I could do it! (I have tabled the writing for the art, because I couldn't do both--they are each, infinite pursuits!)

I KNOW you will do well, writing a novel! :)

  21. Hey Alexys,

"I can only imagine the love pouring out of their auras. ;D" - LOL LOL you know ;D?

"Why on earth would he think that Miriam would want to ingest those noxious ethanol fumes?" - LOL LOL maybe he was suspecting something already? LOL....

"Did she think she was going to get a message from God?" - LOL LOL that was a good one! I think that she was nervous, thinking "what shall I do if this shmuck realises what it is being said on the other end?"....it is either that or she was taking pics from his car or him lol....

"Now a little S&M? Where are the leather whips and chains and the dominatrix outfit?" - LOL LOL are you trying to share something, dear LOL ;)?

"The plot thickens. Miriam is a covert one. What is going to do set him up?" - Aaaah, the plot must remain unveilled for now...lol

"A fake suicide, murder, intrigue, deceit, you could live in Hollywood Max. " - LOL LOL so I heard LOL *nodding*....do you think I could make the buck there? lol

"Sheela sounds elegant. Is Sheela a woman or an Afghan hound?" - ROFL Hmmm I am not sure LOL....good question lol....

"Poor Julie. With a sympathetic mother such as hers, who need enemies?" - LOL indeed, indeed...but I love writing about Elizabeth, I laugh to tears lol....

"Nooooooooooooooooh! That's the worst thing you can do Juilie. Why get pregnant, put stress on yourself and the unborn child and then bring that child into chaos. Nooooooooooooh! Get out. Walk. Run." - you know? Yes, do not follow your mom's silly advice, you can do better than that...! What are we doing here, Alexys lol?

"Do what you have to do.Or at least go shopping and "Hit 'em Upstyle." (the song by Blu Cantrell)" - LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL that was a good one LOL!

"Okay Max, you have to get Julie out of there before she makes matters worse. We're counting on you." - lol I won't let you down, girl :D!

  22. Hey Lynda,

"That's great! You should do it!" - thanks for the support, darling! Now I will really think about it in an earnest way...thanks :)!

"Have I ever told you that I have written four novels and many stories and poems?" - no, you haven't! I mean, I knew you wrote poems cause you mentioned it on your blog, but I didn't know about the novel, no...but that is great news :D!

"I have two novels that are dear to my heart, while the other two were more for fun and for seeing if I could do it! (I have tabled the writing for the art, because I couldn't do both--they are each, infinite pursuits!)" - You must email me their titles, girl! I can only imagine...writing and paiting must consume a lot of time and energy, huh? Yet they are wonderful art forms :D! And if you write like you paint, you must be excellent!

"I KNOW you will do well, writing a novel! :)" - thanks for the support, dear! I will give it a try then :D!

  24. Alas, Max, my novels are stillborn in my cabinet, where they have been dormant since I laid them to rest, there.

I did send two of the books to major US publishers, and got some good feedback and personal notes extolling their virtues, but I stopped sending them. I didn't have the energy to go through that process 75 times, as even some of the most well-known and widely-read authors have! If the art hadn't been pulling at me, I might have stayed with it.

I've thought of putting some of my Young Adult action-adventure chapters on my blog for my readers. After all, writing IS art! What do you think?

  25. Love the line "loved poured out of their auras", very discriptive yet different.

Max I'm loving this, there is intrigue, manipulation twists, yet there is everyday stuff happening, the cell phone ringing and both people check to see if it's theirs, happens to me on a daily if not hourly basis, lol I'm always around people that have cell phones.

The thing that's got me going is the images, the fact more have to be taken, so exciting, and whether this will some how tie into livingsword story.

  26. Max,
"Now a little S&M? Where are the leather whips and chains and the dominatrix outfit?" - LOL LOL are you trying to share something, dear LOL ;)?"

Oh no, I've said too much. :-o

"...do you think I could make the buck there?"

I think you could always make a buck with your intelligence and volition. L.A. is a town of hustle. Everyone you meet has a screenplay or is an actor and always on their way to becoming someone else. "You know it's hard out here for a pimp."

    Hustle Cheers

But at least you know that the publishers liked your work, which can also be rather rewarding :D! Who knows if you won't go back to it one day ;D...

"I've thought of putting some of my Young Adult action-adventure chapters on my blog for my readers. After all, writing IS art! What do you think?" - I think it is a great idea!!!! And it will be my pleasure to read them *excited face*! Absolutely: writing IS Art :D! And since I know that you write so well...I can't wait to go through them chapters ;)...

  33. You wrote: "I have started thinking about them as per Anna's advice" :)... - I am honoured Max.

You said: '...when I started this "Bernie/Catherine/Tarik & Co" series I never thought that I would write so many posts; my intention was to write only one or two and that was it lol! I am glad that you guys like it though ;D!' - see what the influence of others can do to you, lol, this is great that you considered that path, otherwise, who knows I would never met you, lol. You know Peter (nurse) he did the same, and others too, and me too we all started with other intentions, and it turns out to be even better outcomes.

Thanks for all Max, you are great yourself. Anna :)

Have a good weekend too. Anna :) :)

  41. Max, if you are interested, I have created a new blog that focuses solely on religion. I felt that my goofy posts on my regular blog took away from the sacredness of my religious posts. Also, the goofy posts seemed to quickly push my religious ones of the page. So if you get a moment, come visit me at http://mormonchristianity.blogspot.com
