Homeland Security: Part II

Reclining Soldier by Lászlo Mednyánszky

The author of the terrorist attack, in Oslo (on the 22nd of July 2011) was Anders Breivik, who claimed to have “acted to stem the Islamisation of Western Europe, blaming the government [and its liberal immigration policies] for allowing it to happen”.

For this effect, the young man set up front agricultural companies to allow him the purchase of fertiliser without raising suspicions. Given the fact that fertiliser is an ingredient used to make bombs (the reason why Israel does not allow Gaza to receive fertiliser through its borders), young Breivik was immediately put in the security forces watch-list. But did they follow up? No. Why? Perhaps, because he was not a Muslim.

The Oslo attacks raise a few pertinent questions: was Anders really working alone; will his actions inspire other far right terrorists; is the Swedish neo-nazi movement involved or not (even if it doesn’t appear so); is one-man cell the new black in terrorism?

Far right-wing groups are dangerous

They usually begin by targeting a single religious-cultural group (in this case, they seem to aim at Muslims) but when they get hungry for more, they then move on to other groupings (in this context, we could say that after the Muslims, they’d go after the Jews [such a far right cliché], black people; then gypsies, Catholics; then Hindus, Buddhists; gays and perhaps even witches...).

Now, why did Anders Breivik attack a group of young Norwegian people exercising their democratic right to gather and share political ideas? Many analysts say that the political camp was viewed, by Breivik, as a nest of socialism and, therefore, the nest of Marxist multiculturalism – in his mind; it was a pre-emptive attack to safeguard the future. But I’d like to go even deeper...

The keywords “Muslim” and “Marxist multiculturalism” are propagandistic and serve as a deflection.
There are no coincidences. The timing of the attacks which led to the dissemination of Breivik’s message (the terror attacks caused the media to expose his Manifesto, thus, quickly spreading Right Extremist messages throughout the world; therefore exhaling the breath of radicalism into the nostrils of dormant far right adepts) was impeccable: economic and social crisis; huge waves of immigration, fatigue over Islamism; and the short period since chancellor Angela Merkel and PM David Cameron proclaimed the failure of multiculturalism.

Anders Breivik’s mission statement included the obliteration of Left-Wing politicians, responsible for the “Marxist multiculturalism in Europe”; but we cannot be sure that this was really what he meant; because far right-wing packs do not exactly fancy right-wingers either, since they view them as too liberal (fascists mock individual freedom and freedom of speech). So, I wonder, what would happen after the fascists would realise that there are not that many Marxists left to “wipe out”? Would any other political ideology be safe? No. Authoritarianism would be re-born and democracy would be murdered again.

The European Homeland Security can’t afford to doze off, not in times of economic difficulties. It must wake up and stand alert at all times. Threats from any quadrant must be thoroughly analysed and tackled so that the Hitler-wannabes won’t make European History repeat itself.

  2. Hi Max,

There is so much going on these days, the pressure is continuing to build.

These attcks are very disturbing. There is definitely a boiling point evident in many unhappy souls. It's unfortunate when they take it out on innocent victims. Heartbreaking.

    Keep fighting the good fight.

    Warrior Cheers!

  3. From my reading of his manifesto, I would imagine his immediate target was Political Correctness. Attacking a school with children is about as horrible as it gets. I don't think there is any way to assault political correctness, given its amorphous nature.

  4. According to this mornings edition of Sydney's Daily Telegraph, Breivik was high as a kite on a cocktail of illegal drugs.

  5. Max, there are too many such incidents happening all over the world for us to come up with simplistic solutions. There is a major shift in the demographic profile of the world in terms of age, religion, and education taking place and with modern communication being what it is, all kinds of frustrations are finding outlets, I repeat, all over the world. There is need for a lot of introspection among global leaders as to what prompts these outbursts and take fundamental shifts in policies and more importantly, quickly implement change.

  6. Hello Max,

One man cells may very well be the new trend in terrorism, because if the authorities catch one suspect and interrogate him, he will not be able to expose others, will he? And the main operation remains intact.

Far right wing groups are indeed dangerous. And going off the topic a bit: members of such groups live in constant illusion. When they follow strictly the right extremist ideology, they speak of "pure race" without realising that this concept has been practically erradicated from the face of the earth (thank Heavens). Are there still pure whites? Furthermore, we have a new situation regarding being "white": there are some Jews, in the US, who think and believe they are white (I don't know if you watch House; but the Jewish doctor there told the black doctor that he was white...isn't this a bit of a contradiction, when the Jewish people went through such a hard time discovering the Jewish gene?). This being said, would these far right members accept the American Jews as their "brothers"? And I speak of this because Breivik referred to the far right Zionists as possible allies to his cause...

    Tchau

  9. Hi Lady A :D!

"There is so much going on these days, the pressure is continuing to build."

    True.

"These attcks are very disturbing. There is definitely a boiling point evident in many unhappy souls. It's unfortunate when they take it out on innocent victims. Heartbreaking."

*nodding in agreement*. But that's what's puzzling: I don't think Anders Breivik is unhappy or troubled....he is very much conscious about what he did; and he is happy about his own intelligence and culture (even though this may be debatable). And that is why the whole thing is so disturbing.

    "Keep fighting the good fight."

    lol I will, girl...I will ;).

Lady A, thank you so much for your input :D.

  10. Hi Looney :D!

"From my reading of his manifesto, I would imagine his immediate target was Political Correctness."

I was expecting someone to address that (specially because I, personally, am against PC)...
Well, if Breivik was going to attack the Left Wing, he forcibly had to mention PC (since the Left invented the concept). Nevertheless, I still think he used it as a deflection (of his real intentions).

"Attacking a school with children is about as horrible as it gets. I don't think there is any way to assault political correctness, given its amorphous nature."

True. The only way to attack PC is by being ethical-politically incorrect (it has been done).

Looney, superb input for which I thank you immensely :D.

    Cheers

Although it is a good joke, there is no indication (at least official) of that.

pc, thank you so much for your input (loved it) :D.

  12. Hi Rummy :D!

"Max, there are too many such incidents happening all over the world for us to come up with simplistic solutions."

Simplistic solutions is all that certain governments come up with and look where it took most of us...

"There is a major shift in the demographic profile of the world in terms of age, religion, and education taking place and with modern communication being what it is, all kinds of frustrations are finding outlets, I repeat, all over the world."

You forgot gender (in places like China and India, where female foetuses are disposed, soon there will be more men than women which will generate other type of social crises). But yeah, you are right.

"There is need for a lot of introspection among global leaders as to what prompts these outbursts and take fundamental shifts in policies and more importantly, quickly implement change."

    Agreed.

Rummy, excellent input for which I thank you a million times :D.

  13. Hi Celeste :D!

"One man cells may very well be the new trend in terrorism, because if the authorities catch one suspect and interrogate him, he will not be able to expose others, will he? And the main operation remains intact."

    Indeed, indeed.

    "Are there still pure whites?"

lol as an advocate of inter-racial relationships, I'd say: I hope not.

"Furthermore, we have a new situation regarding being "white": there are some Jews, in the US, who think and believe they are white (I don't know if you watch House; but the Jewish doctor there told the black doctor that he was white...isn't this a bit of a contradiction, when the Jewish people went through such a hard time discovering the Jewish gene?)."

I see what you mean. I wouldn't call an original Jewish person "white" (cause the Jewish people came from the Middle East). However, a Jew could be white if both parents were white-converted Jews; don't you think so? It's a complex issue...

"This being said, would these far right members accept the American Jews as their "brothers"? And I speak of this because Breivik referred to the far right Zionists as possible allies to his cause..."

lol well, we could go beyond your thoughts: what if Breivik is appealing to infiltrated far right zionists? I don't see how a zionist (of any sort) would join hands with a group whose ideology cause the death of 6 million Jews, just because of whom they were...it doesn't make sense.

Celeste, provocative comment...my kind of stuff: thank you ever so much :D!

    Cheers

  16. Radicalism in any sphere is a dangerous trend. And for this sometimes we ourselves are to blame, who love to take extreme positions and in a slight bit of insecurity we support those radical thoughts. History and even the present day has shown us that those so called liberals are the one's who are more authoritative and can go to any extent to suppress diverse views. The world as is more and more globalized is all the more and more getting radicalized. Indeed the days of multiculturalism are now numbered and we perhaps will once again go back to our primitive ages where we felt more secure in staying in groups rather than diversifying. We may be more modern in our words but not in our thoughts.

Sonhei-a vivendo no meio do Mar
Sonhei com a verdade de uma palavra
Soletrei sete vezes a palavra amar

Apenas uma hortênsia me pareceu ali perdida
Vi palpitantes borboletas e o coração calei

  20. Hey Kalyan :D!

"Radicalism in any sphere is a dangerous trend. And for this sometimes we ourselves are to blame, who love to take extreme positions and in a slight bit of insecurity we support those radical thoughts."

    Indeed, indeed...

"History and even the present day has shown us that those so called liberals are the one's who are more authoritative and can go to any extent to suppress diverse views."

    I agree with you.

"The world as is more and more globalized is all the more and more getting radicalized.

That radicalism can be an indication of some sort of social fatigue; however we must be attentive to prevent that fatigue to reach violence. And for that we must tackle the socially disturbed (as I call violent radicals - because we have those passive ones; those who may agree with radical ideology but do not act upon it).

"Indeed the days of multiculturalism are now numbered and we perhaps will once again go back to our primitive ages where we felt more secure in staying in groups rather than diversifying. We may be more modern in our words but not in our thoughts."

I am for moderate multiculturalism: a certain migrating group maintains its cultural traditions while respecting and enriching itself with other cultures (mainly the host one). Because let's face it, going to another country to work, constitute a family, build some sort of wealth and then wanting to remain unchanged doesn't make any sense at all. In that case, why emigrate?
That is what it seems like, doesn't it (us, being more modern in our words than in our thoughts)?

Kalyan, superb comment, mate: thank you ever so much :D.

    Cheers
