Africa as a Safe Haven for Terrorists: Who Will Fix the Problem?

By Max Coutinho

Usually, when we think of Safe Havens for terrorists, we think of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Sudan (for example); we never think of other parts of Africa (specially the Christian side) since we were indoctrinated into believing the African Continent is a region filled with poor innocent children and women with flies resting on their lips. But reality differs from this fantasy; so, what is exactly the security policy of Western countries for this Continent when we know that from North to South Hezbollah, Al-Qaeda and affiliates are metastasising like cancer? Have countries thrown the towel?

Africa as a Safe Haven

  • Nigeria managed to be transformed into a Terror Hub by not having tackled Boko Haram in its early stages (corruption?).
  • Kenya’s endemic corruption and porous borders allowed Al-Shabaab to fester in and plan, recruit, execute and coordinate terror attacks from within its borders.
  • Mozambique has been so focused on corruption and on deviating ballot boxes (to maintain the Status Quo) that it allowed the North to be invaded by Islamists and the South to be invaded by undercover Hezbollah agents.
  • The Democratic Republic of Congo was so focused on rebounding from the Mobutu era (among other things) that it allowed the Hezbollah to exploit their diamond industry, set roots there and wreak havoc for Iran's own purposes.
  • Angola got so lost in its corruption (practically all of the top echelons, including the shadow head of the Secret Services, deviate funds from the State’s coffers) that in order to stay afloat it relied on Hezbollah and other Terrorist groups for all kinds of services.
  • South Africa distracts everybody with their racism while allowing Hezbollah, the PLO and other terrorists to operate within their borders at ease.

The list is endless.

The US Treasury Department issued a list of Hezbollah operatives who have either Angolan nationality or residence and yet travel back and forth to Brazil. There is even one Imam who has residence in Angola and yet lives in São Paulo, Brazil. We have top Hezbollah financiers in Luanda, in a neighbourhood of their own, circulating freely, doing business with Angolan Generals (in exchange for protection), using Portuguese frontmen, buying legit businesses worldwide, marrying African and Brazilian women (upon permission from Lebanon) for breeding purposes, and they do all this with the help of French citizens – who also happen to have Angolan nationality.

All this started in the 1990’s and almost 30 years later the situation grew to impossible proportions, as it has spread beyond Africa: for instance, Venezuela’s President Juan Guaidó already admitted the difficulty he foresees in kicking Hezbollah out of his country (apparently, Hugo Chavéz and Nicolás Maduro gave the Margarita Island to the Party of G-d as Headquarters for their Caribbean and Latin America operations). Brazil has also a Hezbollah problem in its South borders. And the Caribbean is plagued by this organisation’s operatives too. The cancer is spreading…

What’s the Policy After All?

So, what is the world doing? Apparently, it has been trying to follow the Law of Men, which is good (we are proponents of legal operations too), however there are other legal options that need to be implemented ASAP: State Ordered Assassinations and Extraordinary Renditions. It’s not the first time this issue is brought up here, but it seems the world is playing deaf while civilians are starving, dying and suffering unnecessarily while a lot of people thrive at their expense. Is this Just?

As our readers know, DS is in the middle of a Counter-terrorism investigation and the same names keep popping up. Naturally, our first reaction is: if we know this, certainly governments know it as well; so why are these people still circulating? The usual answer is: perhaps those people are cooperating with Governments, maybe they are infiltrated and little by little dire situations are being dealt with and people are being captured. But if so, then why do we keep seeing the same people at large and funds being withdrawn from State coffers in private planes to and from Africa? Why are still so many African leaders walking around in absolute impunity? When does it all end (or is this supposed to be as eternal as the Cuban Revolution)?

Policy must change ASAP. Even though I comprehend the role of Bureaucracy (to avoid abuses) I also understand that it is now being used to camouflage gross negligence – the same goes for Human Rights Laws (that slow investigations down and many times hamper the capture of criminals when there’s a proper window time). Governments of the so-called Free World recruit and train soldiers, Special Forces, Special Units, Intelligence Units etc…for what, to rescue Migrants in the Mediterranean? To fight wars in CAR against Islamic Units and arrest members of Christian Militias (who are reacting to the Islamic aggression)? Governments must step up their game and if they don’t then it must be made clear they are complicit with all the crimes being committed by Terrorist Organisations and their Sponsor States.

But who will hold them accountable when the whole system is rigged?

Who will go after terrorists and money launderers when Europe is their closest partner (e.g. the European Union couldn’t have been faster in coming up with a solution to help Iran circumventing the US sanctions)?

There is one Man, from the biggest Catholic country in Africa, who stands behind the Presidency for 40 years in utter impunity even though he trades with Terrorists, he trains Drug Lords in Brazilian Favelas, in spite of owning Banks to camouflage the pervading involvement of Hezbollah all over the world, despite giving orders to transform Portugal in another Financial Haven for Terror Groups (analyse Portugal’s close relationship with the PLO and Lebanese elements linked to Hezbollah). This man, until recently, travelled for free in the Portuguese airlines. Why?

Conclusion

There are a lot of questions and not enough answers. But they are the foundation of the truth. When the timing is right, we will share names and present evidence so that our readers may benefit from a better understanding of why a political purge is necessary; and why International Political Bodies must be offed.

  1. You are saying governments are behind these international crimes? That is a very serious accusation!

  2. I'm not surprised! I cannot say that I am cause we have known this for years now! We all know the CIA is in the region so the question is: what the hell are they doing there? And why was Hezbollah/Iran allowed to grow this big? Someone is making a lot of money off of it!

  3. Hi Max, I see you are back to posting the thought of the week so I drop by to comment it: it takes a lot of courage for a Latin American president to come forward and openly support Israel the way President Bolsonaro did. It is a complete breakaway from South American policy and since Brazil is the biggest democracy in the region believe me when I say it has a lot of weight. I hope Brazil is blessed indeed. Thanks, Max.

  4. The West is terrified of solving the African problem cause socialists convinced everybody it's a racist and colonialist thing to do. Meanwhile, the socialists make a lot of money out of other people's suffering. They get off on it too!

  5. Africa has been taken over by Islamists and by the Shiite Terrorist Network. Hizbullah/Iran got there first, then the Sunnis noticed that in order to counter Iran they had to hijack African from them - unfortunately, they chose a terrible path to do it. But if this happened, if they were allowed to do it, it's because a lot of Europeans are making bundles of money with the situation. Where are the stolen African funds going to? Europe mostly and the most of the political class is in it.

  6. Africa used to be a problem when they wanted independence, then it was a problem because of their mismanagement and people starving, then it was corruption and now it's a terrorist hub? When is that continent ever going to stop being a problem at all? And who will deal with it? Oy Vey!
