Proposal

This post is dedicated to the love of my life

I swear I would’ve asked him to marry me…if he hadn’t done it first.

I’m still savouring that precious moment. My mind keeps rewinding and fast-forwarding all the events since we first started dating. Indeed, le grand final could only be this: I shall get married to the most brilliant, beautiful, challenging man I’ve ever met.

This week, I intend to share with you some of the words I had prepared to propose myself. Ah, l’amour est beau…!

“May the Lord All Mighty be praised for placing you in my life!
Your name is the finest melody of them all. Whenever I feel sad, I slowly pronounce it and my being is replenished with happiness. Your eyes are the gates to other realities: I chose to enter through them and forever dwell in your mysteries.
I behold our family; I perceive us…you and I wherever, for whatever!
My actions mirror my feelings. My feelings mirror all the things that are meant for us. And for all these reasons I say: Marry me! Allow me to offer you all types of love: whenever the Lord delays to answer your prayers, I’ll be there to be your Angel. Whenever you miss your parents’ house, I’ll be there to be your best friend. And whenever you feel the world’s weight on your shoulders, I shall be your lover!”

Love is so beautiful that only a wise man, such as King Solomon, could describe it:

“Set me as a seal upon your heart,
As a seal upon your arm;
For love is as strong as death,
Jealousy as cruel as the grave;
Its flames are flames of fire,
A most vehement flame.
Many waters cannot quench love,
Nor can the floods drown it.
If a man would give for love
All the wealth of his house,
It would be utterly despised.”
(Song of Solomon 8:6-7)

  1. Beautiful poem. I envy you have a such one to love, to think of. I envy your lack of disillusionment. I hope you will treasure them. Enjoy what you have.

  2. Fantastic! That is what I have been living for almost 14 years now. Congratulations!

Here is the portion of Scripture you quoted in The Message paraphrase; I think you will also like it:

Hang my locket around your neck,
wear my ring on your finger.
Love is invincible facing danger and death.
Passion laughs at the terrors of hell.
The fire of love stops at nothing—
    it sweeps everything before it.
    Flood waters can't drown love,
torrents of rain can't put it out.
Love can't be bought, love can't be sold—
it's not to be found in the marketplace.

  5. Don't waste your beautiful words of love. Even if you didn't get to propose, I think you should definitely share your heartfelt poem in a gift card just to say "I love you!"
PS: Married 16 years next week! Be sure to always share those words of love! xoxo

  6. Hey ! Congrats !! And you still have time to go round visiting other blogs !! You're going to be really busy planning a wedding. Men don't do that. They think it gets magically settled after they propose !!! Actually, they think the rest of their lives get magically settled after they propose.

Oh, and nothing like finding out the differences between men and women when you are married to one. Find out more when you have a kid. Make that 3.

btw, www.acnemed.info will be closing pretty soon when they find out I'm not paying this month's fees ! But there's a new blog on the way !

Once again, am really happy for you ! I think back to our early days of marriage and regret we didn't cherish the peace and quiet more !

  8. Congratulations to you. That is a great scripture you have used. About a year ago, I wrote a wedding song for someone's wedding using those verses.

  9. Ciao Max
    Congrats !

    Love and be loved.
    The greatest feeling.

Marriage is a great and responsible step (thats the way i see it) as i said before full of all. (the details, adversities and common project, mutual understandment, balance......).

When i proposed myself i remender my mother's wise words.... ( don't do it fool!!!!) kidding! --- "when one of couple person is down the other should pull him/her up".

    I guess what comes from true love feelings, is always right;
If i'm allowed to give an opinion:

Use your own inspired imagination, i'm shure it will be pure!

    All the best,
    Felicitá a lei!

    buone vacanze!!

  13. Congratulations!

Although I suppose I'm a bit late. My apologies. It 's wonderful when you find the one you truly love. And such a wonderful poem and would-be proposal (should he have not done so first). Again congratulations. May happiness be with you :)

  15. hey there :) you asked a while ago on my post on hypnosis if people can be hypnotized against their will. they can be, but it's an entirely different way of inducting them. it's also much harder, and it's even harder than that if they no it's coming (if possible at all)

basically the concept is that you confuse the conscious and then you can speak directly to the subconscious with a quick 'sleep!' very hard to do (i haven't tried it yet)and there are many finer points to it.

    hope this answered your question!
