The Four Seasons of Truth

There are so many truths in this life that we often throw the real truth into oblivion...[I’m ever so sorry for interrupting the line of thought, however I must put on a Vivaldi cd …all right, I am back…where was I? Ah, yes…]

Ladies and Gentlemen: I’d like to introduce you to “The Four Seasons of the Truth”!

Autumn Truth: we are born; our original truth starts falling as leaves fall off the trees. The fresh seed of veracity is there, however we feel the need to test it, to prove that what we already know is true. Thus we begin to ask, to doubt, to double-check, to question, to investigate, to interrogate every single word, sentence, concept, intent, action…the unquenchable thirst begins, and we are up for a long journey. This can be compared to the Pragmatic Theory of Truth, which defends that veracity is verified and confirmed through the result of putting one’s concepts into practice.
However, this theory per se is not true cause there is a kind of truth whose concepts cannot be put into practice and, yet can be very much verified and confirmed, if one’s mind is willing to accept it.

Winter Truth: along the pursuit for truth, we meet people who agree with us, and others who do disagree with us. We belong to a so-called Elite group. Those who were, initially, in disagreement will start a debate, where ideas will be exchanged, and new things will be taught. Then, together, we design new concepts, and compromise upon a new Universal truth. We are now ready to impose it to the whole world. Everybody will have to accept our truth; and even if they decide to question or refute us, whom will listen? After all we are the Elite group and we’ve already stated what the truth is.
This can be compared to the Consensus Theory of Truth, which states that truth is whatever it is agreed by a specific group (that might include all human beings, or simply a subset of more than one person). Still, it doesn’t mean that the decided-upon-Universal-truth is true, does it?

Spring Truth: Thomas Aquinas said, “Truth is the conformity of the intellect to the things” (veritas est adequatio intellectus et rei).
I am in the centre of a forum. A Catholic priest addresses me “Jesus is the only way…” I reply “It’s true!”; a Buddhist monk approaches and says “The eightfold path is the way to end suffering!”, I answer “It’s true!”; a rabbi tells me “Hashem is one and unique, and Moses’ prophecy is better than any other prophets!”, I agree “It’s true!”; an Imam points to me “Allah is the only God, and Mohammed is the only prophet!”, I retort “It’s true!”…In awe, they all look at me…I smile and say “My dear fellows, what you have stated is all true to you and to the communities you represent. It’s your own truth. [Pause] The truth is what your intellect is willing to accept as such”.

Summer Truth: We die; we leave our bodies. We are finally real, since we return to our essence. The spirit no longer feels the need to search for the truth, nor to prove which veracity is true, for the truth is what IT IS.
The intellect of the spirit sees beyond the apparent reality, the apparent truths, and the apparent falsities; therefore it is freed from the chains of matter…

We may defend whatever we wish, we may create a thousand truths, and languages, that won’t be accepted by everybody...notwithstanding, the only absolute truth, here on Earth, is that you and I are here; we exist (for now)...all the rest are details of existence, of the flesh.

  1. Max,
    I love Vivaldi.

Very provocative post as always. I like Autumn truth. Even if we know something to be true, we try to disprove it several times before we accept it. I call it faith versus tangibility, until we see that faith IS tangibility.

Winter truth is an interesting one. I find that some agree with others until someone falls out of the agreed line of truth and another goes their own way and tries to make their truth the only truth. Welcome to the demigod or mini master.

Spring truth - brilliant. Everyone has their own truth and they would like us to have their truth too - if we would only listen to reason. God doesn't belong to any religion and the truth of the universe is our perception.

Summer truth,"The intellect of the spirit sees beyond the apparent reality, the apparent truths, and the apparent falsities; therefore it is freed from the chains of matter."

Spirit has no intellect, it just IS. A inexplicable form of being. We can't begin to describe it in a language in which we are accustomed. It is bigger that thought, reasoning and logic. When life leaves our physical bodies, Soul still inhabits the ethers.

I agree, the only absolute truth IS now.

Well done my dear Max. Kudos. Take a bow.

  2. Quite a read, Max! ;-D But as usual I'm speechless he he he...I need time to absorb all this before I can say a thing. Why? Because I've been thinking about truth and it's entangled me somewhat he he he...

But I ALWAYS LOVE the way you present your thoughts and ideas. :-)))

  3. Hi Max;

Very creative superstructure to deliver some intriguing concepts…

Chocolate Girl and I love the Four Seasons by Vivaldi…

I frame my response by saying that I am taking your articles words about truth as claims of absolute truth...and I am not taking your words as necessarily your own beliefs but as an “argument” of logic wrapped in tantalizing words…In other words my thoughts are about what is written not the person who wrote them…I will attempt to be as entertaining as possible in my response…

    Autumn Truth:

First I recognize that you have started this walk in autumn, whereas it is usually started in spring…

At this first stage you describe we are rather captive to our senses, then to the information provided by family and then we begin to be indoctrinated by our predominant culture.

We think we know it all…and many never leave this stage…

    Winter Truth:

The testing of the truths we hold dear begins in earnest..

The predominant group is typically not all that predominant so one begins to see all the fractures in truth in their sub-culture, the dominant culture and all the other sub-cultures, all of these shift on sand as the tide comes in…there is no solid foundation with consensus…this is along the same lines in some ways as Gnostic thought except they typically feel they are intellectually superior to others and that they had a secret or hidden knowledge that is deeper than what others are capable of….

…also often rebellion can be in the heart at this time as one struggles to “be their own person” which means often they reject truth for personal emotional reasons not for rational reasons…

    Spring Truth:

    You said:
The truth is what your intellect is willing to accept as such

    I respond:
A typical dance to attempt to enhance “tolerance”, and quietly demean other thought concepts….absolute truth claimed by others is denied by stating an “absolute truth” denying those truths, but giving a first glance fake approval of them, it is a “shell game” of thoughts. It seems innocuous in that it says you can all keep your truth but in reality non-of them are really true, it’s fraud-thought that masquerades as tolerance and light but stabs in the back.

It claims there is no absolute truth while upholding its own absolute truth…

…As a fellow blogger recently said to me “there is no absolute truth”, which of course is itself a claim to absolute truth…

Just because there are many claims of different kinds of truth does not mean that one of them is not correct and the others are all wrong, to argue otherwise is not logical.

I issue a challenge to anybody that does not believe in absolute truth, give me all of your money, every cent, it will be my truth that I have all of your money, and you can then make up your own truth that you still have it, put your money where your mouth is…

The point is EVERYBODY appeals to absolute truth including all of those who claim they do not.

    Summer Truth:

    You said:
“We die; we leave our bodies. We are finally real, since we return to our essence.”

    I respond:
Some may say they believe this world is not “real” but very few really believe this; and much fewer still lead their lives like they believe this; it is a smoke screen to attempt to avoid truth. The spirit and the body are both genuinely real. Our spirit was created when our physical bodies where conceived therefore there is no “essence” to return to. Our creation had a starting point (which of course the word creation makes clear).

In death any charlatan masks we may have developed for out “truths” that do not conform to reality will be gone, we will see absolute truth as He is…

    You said:
“the only absolute truth, here on Earth, is that you and I are here; we exist (for now)...all the rest are details of existence, of the flesh.”

    I respond:
Once it is understood that somewhere there is some kind of absolute truth it changes everything…

Jesus said: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 NIV)

He claims to be Truth, as God He is the Standard by which we measure everything, anything not measuring up to Him is not truth. Please note that one cannot say Jesus was a great teacher or anything good at all if this claim is false. If it is a false claim then He is evil and none of His teachings are worth the paper they are printed on…but if it is true then it changes everything…

One of the things it changes is it does not matter what stage we are at in life or what we believe because whether we believe it or not it is still absolutely true…it is not dependent on us, as Jesus is not dependant on us…

Absolute Truth Lives…we can run but we can’t hide….

  4. Alexys,

Vivaldi is one of the best.
Thank you so much for your comment *taking a bow*.

I am glad you liked it *bowing*! Provocative...hum...thanks for the compliment :).

Autumn truth: it's a human condition (to disaprove several times before accepting). Faith is admitting to what we already know, but can't be proven through tests and formulas.

    Winter truth: demi-god indeed *nodding*.

Spring truth: not many make use of reason, unfortunately...

Summer truth: all we have is our intellect, when we die all we take is what our intellect absorbs on earth...even spirits think, thus they have an intellect (since thought derives from the intellect, and the intellect is the mind). Spirits think and things happen, they move by the power of thought; logic is their main tool...well, the truth is reached by logic...

I am glad you were the first one to whom I counter-comment, Alexys; I loved your words!

    Cheers

  5. Hey Amelia!!!

    Thank you *bowing*!

  6. Hey LS,

LOL LOL what would you say if I told you that I wrote it thinking about a fiery debate? lol....

I am in love with the Four Seasons by Vivaldi *sigh*! CG and you have great taste :).

It's ok, just shoot your comment *rolling up my sleeves*!

Autumn truth: I started in Autumn as a homage to our present season. When we are born we bring information that is often obliterated by the senses (due to being matter), by the information provided by family, by dogmas and doctrines. When we grow up we think that we know it all, indeed (as you stated) but we don't (you may know a lot about earthly matters, but if one doesn't aspire to know a part of the spiritual truths - that part which is available to us to know - than you don't know everything). It's a shame that "(...) many never leave this stage" *nodding*.

Winter truth: I agree with this superb sentence "...there is no solid foundation with consensus..." *closing my eyes to savour it*. "Intellectually superior" - the gnostics are not the only ones, scientists also think that they hold the key to truth just because science is superior to any other "sciences", since it can be proven by formulas, and tests...*nodding*. Thinking that one person, or group, is intellectually superior is dangerous (any kind of superiority thought is dangerous as history has already taught us). God is the only One who holds the key to secret knwoledge.
I may agree that there are people who are more powerful (mind-wise) than others, however it doesn't make them superior, does it? Superiority can only be related to God, cause in fact He is superior...but us humans...nope! As I said, superiority + humans = danger.
"…also often rebellion can be in the heart at this time as one struggles to “be their own person” which means often they reject truth for personal emotional reasons not for rational reasons…" - absolutely!!!!! But the truth is: if we analyse some of the things that have been delievered to us as being true, we'll realise that they can be refuted, however no one will listen (or if they will, it will take a long time, your thoughts and refutation may only be recognised post-mortem lol). But I recognise that Winter Truth is not so bad...after all, we do need material to debate, don't we? The so-called Elite groups give food for thought :).

Spring Truth: lol lol tolerance is also needed, my friend; otherwise we'll have constant chaos. But that's exactly what I am saying, LS; your truth can be denied by my truth (what is true to me, may not be true to the next man...and we have enumerous examples of that: my life, is my reality, my truth; it cannot be your truth, your reality cause we live in opposite worlds, cultures, and religion/spirituality. Christians say that Jesus is the way - to me he isn't, so it's not true to me nor to the ones that think like me. Muslims say that we are infidels, but that's not true to you nor to me...it's their truth. And so on, and on...), yet it doesn't stop being a truth because your mind accepts it as such.
The only absolute truth is that we exist: this is irrefutable, thus absolute. Other philosophies, and thoughts are refutable (cause, thank God, there will always be an intelligent person to rebut a thought, an idea, a concept), thus aren't absolute.
I didn't say that they were wrong, au contraire I said that they were all true (to those whose mind accepts them as such), therefore correct. Aristotle said "to say of what is that is not, or of what is not that it is, is false; while to say of what is that it is, and what it is not that is not, is true" this is logical. I cannot in full conscience state that this religion is right , or that one is wrong because it is not true. Why? 1- Because the only one who really knows what's right or wrong (for sure sure) is our Creator...(and even this is refutable by atheists, and agnostics - however our existence...not even those can rebut it); 2- because the followers of those religions accept their dogmas and teachings as being true.

LOL LOL I just said that the absolute truth is our existence, here on earth, cause it is undeniable; and I shall not repeat myself on this.
"The point is EVERYBODY appeals to absolute truth including all of those who claim they do not." - yeah, it's the "Eve" in us...we all want to know more than what we know, and show that we do; it's human.

Summer Truth: you see, that is your truth. My truth is that the spirit can re-encarnate as many times as possible until we learn what we have to learn. The soul is different from the spirit; cause the spirit is God's essence in all of us, and the soul is the spirit plus the information we bring (the one that remains in the id, that most are uncapable of accessing) - who we will be, who we were, why we came, what we'll do etc - . When the soul merges in matter (our bodies) most of us lose track of the information the soul (spirit + information) brings (the ones that don't are called mediums), and our ego breaks the link with our essence, although the id doesn't. If the spirit is God's essence, we have an essence to return to.

I have explained why it is called an absolute truth.

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 NIV) - your truth, not mine.
"Absolute Truth Lives…we can run but we can’t hide…." - lol lol it's a pleasure to debate with you, LS.

Great start, LS; thank you *bowing*!

    Cheers

  8. Hi Max;

Oh sorry you wanted a “fiery debate” if I had known then I would have been provocative! I included the disclaimer on my previous comment for other people, you and I understand where the other is coming from but to another person it could seem personal which of course you know how much I respect and appreciate you....

I am writing this while listening to the Four Seasons by Vivaldi…the ambiance is perfecto!

    Autumn truth:

It is interesting how often young people just “know” God is there, even without anybody telling them…I will not go any further with this since it will be in an article on my blog in the next while.

I will only say that it seems with many the existence of God is the “default setting”, it is the way we are designed….we have His finger prints upon us, and often we try to wipe them out. Similar to what some try to do with the impact made upon their lives by their parents…

    Winter truth:

Point well taken about scientists; it is interesting how much science has now “bled” into philosophy (and become dogma), often upholding unproven and often unprovable concepts as facts to be believed and obeyed.

I agree with you about “secret knowledge” only God has all knowledge, after all I’m a follower of Jesus, I admit I am a finite depraved sinner, whom infinite Jesus is transforming…

    You said:
    “superiority + humans = danger”

    I respond:
How very true! One of the things I love about Jesus is He teaches us to think of others as better than ourselves…

….Paul inspired by the Holy Spirit wrote in Philippians 2:3>>>
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.” (NIV)

By the way that verse is great for keeping a marriage on track if both persons will “own it”.

    You said:
“after all, we do need material to debate, don't we? The so-called Elite groups give food for thought”

    I respond:
LOL how true…its good for you and I that there are these “elite groups”!!! LOL

    Spring truth:

Just because somebody believes something is absolutely true does not make it absolutely true…but that does not mean that absolute truth does not exist!

    You said:
The only absolute truth is that we exist: this is irrefutable, thus absolute.

    I respond:
Actually there are entire families of philosophy that deny that we exist! “I think therefore I am” is considered an obsolete mantra…Others blend this with other similar concepts (some would say “bastardize” it)…have you seen the Matrix movies Max…

(I couldn’t resist the play of letters with the M and X starting and ending each word….this moment of humor brought to you by…who’s your sponsor? Vivaldi?)

(Meanwhile back to our episode, sorry too many articles on Survivor China are starting to blend into the rest of my life!)

So if there is at least one absolute truth you “know” of that logically means there could and probably are more….Since you are making an absolute truth claim that we exist it is not logical to say that you cannot accept any other truth claim as true…frankly I don’t believe that you really believe that is the only absolute truth, I am not saying you are intentionally being deceptive I am saying that I doubt you live your rubber hits the pavement life by that standard, after all during our dialogues on our blogs you often make absolute truth appeals to make your points…as does every body else when engaged in almost every activity we do…Philosophers make very poor engineers…

    You said:
“I cannot in full conscience state that this religion is right , or that one is wrong because it is not true. Why? 1- Because the only one who really knows what's right or wrong (for sure sure) is our Creator...(and even this is refutable by atheists, and agnostics - however our existence...not even those can rebut it)”

    I respond:
What if the Creator has made this knowledge known? What if He has entered time and space and told us? What if it isn’t a secret although some would love to make it so?

The position of an atheist is logically unsustainable, for one to say “there is no God” is a claim of deity itself as one would need to know everything to believe this in an absolute sense, only God can know absolutely everything; whereas to say I believe in God in the sense that I “know enough” does not necessitate absolute knowledge but “sufficient knowledge”, sufficient or reasonable knowledge is where everybody lives it is away from philosophical smoke and mirrors…

The question is does this meet the “rubber hits the pavement test” and the answer is categorically provable, it is even measurable in a scientific manner.

    Summer truth:

I should have read this section more carefully before starting this reply comment, it really is the crux of everything…

    You said:
My truth is that the spirit can re-encarnate as many times as possible until we learn what we have to learn.

    I respond:
Why do we have to learn anything, what do we have to learn, and by Who’s authority?

    You said:
the spirit is God's essence in all of us

    I respond:
Do you mean as in physicality? A spirit is non-corporeal so what exactly do you mean when you say that? The Christian concept is that of immediacy and intimacy of relationship…

Why would I want to return to this god?

What title would encompass your belief system? Is the God you speak of a personal being? Where do you get these ideas from?

    You said:
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6 NIV) - your truth, not mine.

    I respond:
I really appreciate your straight forward response to this Scripture. Would you say that Jesus is wrong and evil for making this statement, delusional, a fool?

Well I could go on and on but its time for sleep, talk to you Wed Max…

  9. Hi Max, it has been a while.
    Time's short.

Well, surprisingly, i've recently, wrote something about truth, without knowing your subject.

I'll do my comment now: My general perspective is something like Know to Grow. So the truth will come with cumulative experiences.
As u distinguish different seasons, and i agree, the surrounding environment will reflect easly our thought and reveal the truth at a certain time and space.

Coherence with past actions, can be a step for the truth (off course a own truth)

But at the end....what is the truth? (quid est veritas?)
("I am the path and truth")

My final objective definition would be based on faith and experience interactions.

    Regards
    Gallardo

  11. LS,

LOL LOL LOL you're killing me *nodding*! What a way to start my blogging day :).

Today is warm, so I decided to reply you with some Jamaica tunes lol....

Autumn truth: "It is interesting how often young people just «know» God is there, even without anybody telling them..." - I see where you're coming from, LS (and I will love to debate this on your blog)! However, I must say one thing: young people know that God is there cause they haven't lost the connection with the divine, the seed is still there. The problem is that when they grow up they want to fight this truth, they want to refute it with all their might (turning it into a subjective truth, when in fact it is an absolute truth - note that yesterday I said that this couldn't be an absolute truth, since it can be refutable by some people. Whereas an absolute truth is the one that cannot be refuted, under no circumstance...tricky, huh?).
But I'll leave this for when you present us that article :).

"I will only say that it seems with many the existence of God is the “default setting”, it is the way we are designed (...). Similar to what some try to do with the impact made upon their lives by their parents…" - exactly, we have the seed, it's there. Ah, parents...there's nothing more important than one's family. For me it's God, family and then our nation (be it the country where we were born, raised or the one that adopted us). A family is like a tree: your forefathers the roots, your parents the trunk, your other relatives the branches; and you/brothers the leaves. Now, can leaves live without the trunk and roots? Nowadays people fail to see the importance of the family, because they don't get the right picture of it.

Winter truth: *clap clap clap* that's right (about science). Interesting words uttered by Paul (I'm still waiting for that article on him; I want you to show me that he was not a mysoginist lol); I am already studying him an all. One can read that verse over and over again, but if one lacks wisdom to understand it, and apply it to daily life...it's useless reading it. Wisdom, the ability to compromise, to commit and to understand = keeping a marriage on track.

"LOL how true…its good for you and I that there are these “elite groups”!!! LOL" - LOL LOL indeed, at least they are nourishing us; and allowing us to do what we love best: debate.

Spring truth: I didn't say that absolute truth didn't exist, I said that for us, humans, the only one that is absolute is our existence (since nobody can rebut this). I already said the Absolute Truth is God ("for the truth is what IT IS."), that's what we realise when we die (or rather, we go back to our essence, cause it knows that the only thing that is true is the Creator); however I cannot deny that even this is subject to refutation (by some people) here on earth.
lol I have seen the Matrix movies, but it doesn't mean that I agree with everything that was in it. "I think therefore I am" is absolutely correct, I defend this line of thought, cause the only thing we take with us (when we die) is our memories, which stem from the mind, which usually is accompanied with thought.

"(I couldn’t resist the play of letters with the M and X starting and ending each word….this moment of humor brought to you by…who’s your sponsor? Vivaldi?)" - LOL LOL LOL I noticed it, LS. My sponsor...yeah, Vivaldi lol.

"…Philosophers make very poor engineers…" - how true this is, my friend *nodding*! About what you said, I have already explained above. We humans live to refute each other, and this is what keeps the mind going and evolving.
If the Creator has made this knowledge known, it has made it to only some (very few who control this information), who are subject to be refuted simply because they are humans. When we die, because we no longer are locked to flesh, we accept this "secret knowledge" as being true. But as humans...we will always tend to doubt this information; and this is why that "some" keeps it as a secret...they know that not all humans are ready to receive it.

"The position of an atheist is logically unsustainable (...)" - true; it is like denying itself. And when we ask an atheist about our origin, he/she will talk about the origin of the body, cells (evolutionism) but it won't explain from where the soul comes (interesting, huh?).
"(...)I believe in God in the sense that I “know enough” does not necessitate absolute knowledge but “sufficient knowledge”, sufficient or reasonable knowledge is where everybody lives it is away from philosophical smoke and mirrors…" - the belief in God is not a question of knowledge (cause some people learn that God exist, that He did this and that; but when it comes to trust in Him, when it comes to know that He is there for whatever...they slip...suddenly they aren't sure if He really exists, if what they were taught is true...) it is a question of maintaining that essential link with Him.

Summer truth: We have to learn the earthly experiences so that we can better understand God's thinking and reasons (He knows everything before it happens, He feels everything, He sees everything...whereas we, as spirits, don't - after all there's only one God, one Creator, one Supreme Intelligence). We have to learn how to surmount emotions, and use reason more often. You already wrote the word "Who" with a capital letter, so you know that it is by His authority!

If I said that the spirit is God's essence, and the soul is the spirit plus the info that we bring (something like our mission), and the soul encarnates in the flesh...how could I be referring to physicality? So, no, I mean spirit as non-corporeal. The spirit is what God created to His image (although many people think it is the body...and as such picture God as a man with white beard and long hair *nodding*).

You would want to return to God because He is our Creator, our Almighty Father; and just like the prodigal son returns home; we must return Home (El Shaddai).

My belief system could very well be called the belief in the Law. The God I speak of is the One and Only, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I cannot call it ideas...(idea = suggestion, notion, view, thought), I'd say that I was born sure of the fact that He is the One. I didn't learn it in a school, nor was imposed on me by my parents, nor by priests, ministers, monks, etc...

No, I would never say that Jesus is wrong (and he could never be evil, since he came from the house of Judah, and by the way he was formed in his mother's womb). I would say that he is right for you and for the ones who believe in him.

    Cheers

  12. Ciao G!!!!

It has been a while indeed, I missed your thoughts!

Really? I can't wait to reading it...I'll visit your blog, presto.

"So the truth will come with cumulative experiences." - That's what I was telling LS, we re-encarnate over and over again until we learn sufficient things so that we can be closer to the Creator's knowledge (which is the Truth).

"Coherence with past actions, can be a step for the truth (off course a own truth)" - sublime!!!!
Quid est veritas? Between us humans: our existence (since it is the only thing that can't be refuted).

"My final objective definition would be based on faith and experience interactions." - this is a excellent definition, but unfortunately it can be refuted by other human fellows *nodding*.

Thanks for this amazing comment, G. As always it was much appreciated.

  17. Max, I like Vivaldi too, cool. I will be back to read the rest later, it is getting late here and my battery is almost out of juice in my laptop - just letting you know that I left my foot prints here. I don't know where you get your ideas, but you should consider writing a book one day. I will be back, Anna :)

PS thanks for accepting my suggestion; you always give, so we should appreciate that and give you back too.

Just got my first warning, got to go. lol.

  18. Anna,

It goes to show that you have good taste :).

Yes, I saw some footprints on the floor and I immediately thought "Anna was here!" lol lol...

My ideas...Once I told LS that my inspiration comes from a deep dive into myself; my essence...I reach my original Seed, and that's where I get my ideas from :).

A book, moi? I am afraid I am an intellectual bohemian, don't know if I am disciplined enough to sit and write a whole book lol.

You are welcome, plus it was a very good suggestion *bowing*! I should thank you for having given it to me :-D.

What's that beep? Ah, it's your warning...

    Cheers

  20. One question, did you design these four truths yourself or was it an exert from something else?

If yourself, I applaud your ingenuity. It is articles like these I try to create except I never seem to be able to create much these days haha!

The four seasons of truth... Delightful, keep it up!

  21. Hey Shan,

These four truths were inspired in the Four Seasons by Vivaldi. The content of each seasonal truth is of my humble design.

Thank you for the applause *bowing*.

Let me tell you a secret: you will be able to create even better articles than this one - trust me :)!

    Thanks for the encouragement!

    Cheers

  22. I am back as promised and recharged, lol.... Hi Max this is so beautifully written, I always wanted to know, where did you learn to write in English like that? It is just amazing how you put everything into perspective and it just flows, and actually means something, and here is me who still struggle with literature in general, its getting better, but before I couldn't even put any logic behind any poem. I think my creative mind is booming now but when I look at your written pieces, they are just amazing pieces of human imagination, human interpretation of the world, and most of all understanding. Your blog can be your book. Now days there are different writing style why not re-invent. You are definitely unique. And now not to give you an impression that I am moving away from your post, lol, but you impress me every time and I just end up blobbing about something else, lol. I love what you wrote about the four truths. The one I can mostly related, and you put this in black and white, is the Spring Truth - a truth of each intellect, a truth I don't ever challenge, because we all have our own truths as you said, or beliefs and if we are open minded then we will accept the truth of others, like you wrote (of course you have to watch out for some people, lol). However, I am kind of struggling with Summer Truth, I am not sure if I understood (just remember I am bad with poems), but are you talking about death, I see that way, but I also see letting go, being free where nothing matters, but then where is the place on earth like that, lol. Great post, I will have to go back and think about the Fall and Winter Truth. Anna :)

  23. lol i hope people see it because it took me forever to post it. when i copied it, it was all scrunched up and so i had put spaces between each entry.

  24. Anna,

    Welcome back :)!!!

Thank you so much for the kind words (one of these days I might blush lol) :-D!
Where have I learned to write in English? Well, I first learned how to speak English there in Canada, when I lived there (4-5 years old); but to write in this language...I learned it with my business English professor, at the University, here in Lisboa. She was an excellent teacher, and most of all a very demanding one.

Well, I totally get you cause a few years ago I didn't get poetry myself! I had to study very hard until I finally got to it lol; so don't sweat it :)!
Ah, my human understanding comes from practicing Tai Chi lol...just joking lol. I observe people, that's all I can say :).

I like it when you blob; you always show a tender side of you :).
    Let's discuss the truths, then:

Oh yes, there are people who need, definitely, to be watched out lol. Summer truth: I am talking about death, indeed. I was saying that when we die, our soul realises that as humans we were "heavy" (being the weight the need to prove each own truth; and which veracity was more true, and etc); whereas souls perceive that the only truth is the I AM (God) - therefore the weight is off, since there's only one truth.
To have a clearer view, picture the following: you're a little angel. What's the ultimate truth to an angel? God is. Now, you are a human, what's the ultimate truth? Well, there are so many truths (cause our mind doesn't accept all concepts) and each one is subject to refutation...so it's hard to have an ultimate truth. However, the only one that nobody can deny is the fact that we exist, as humans.
    I hope I could help... :)

Be free to return as many times as you wish...mi casa es su casa! And btw: thanks, once again, for the excellent suggestion...you were right: it's fun!

    Cheers

  26. WOW Max! Such wonderful and moving words...

"The Four Seasons of Truth" Even the title causes the reader to stop and think. Reading through the post was both questioning and reassuring. Then, as I came to the end of the post and read the words "the only absolute truth, here on Earth, is that you and I are here; we exist... all the rest are details of existence, of the flesh" I became overwhelmed with te warmth of your words.

My Grandmother died in a tragic accident earlier this year. Also, at the end of the last year I fell 90ft of a ridge when walking in the hills in Wales and nearly lost my life. Your words remind me so beautifully that we must all live for today for today is a special day because we are here.

Max, this is more than a great post... it is a really special post. Thank you for making a perfect start to my weekend.

  27. Hello Graham,

Thank you for such kind words; and for sharing your personal tale with me :).

I am so glad that this post had the impact that it had on you, and on other readers: I'm speechless *bowing*!

I am so sorry to hear about your grandmother *tender face*...it may be a little too late, however I still offer my condolences!
90ft of a ridge?! Graham, I'd say you have a purpose in this life...to be saved like that: the angels were with you :)!
Indeed, enjoy each day, cause each one is special; and cherish it with all your might.

Once again, thank you for your kind and touching words *bowing*.
Oh, my words can't be compared to those photos you offered us on your blog: magical!

  34. I am soooooo bummed that I missed all the buzz on this. I love to talk about truth! What a great dialogue you have got going Max. I loved what LS said "we can run but we can't hide" from absolute truth. That is just absolutely true.

I will just put my two cents worth in with some of my observations in my quest for truth.

    1. Truth must be searched for as a precious jewel. We discover it reather than just accept it.
    2. Truth is most likely found by those who search with a humble heart.
    3. Truth can be hidden from us or revealed to us.
    4. We can be open to truth or we can harden our heart to truth.
    5. Truth must be weighed up in our spirit against our foundation of truth and then accepted, rejectd or held in limbo until later confirmed or rejected
    6. People are prone to double mindedness where we accept in our mind one thing as truth and act out another. (ie: we don't practice what we preach)
    7. Ignorance is not an exuse.
    8. The truth can set us free.

And that's all I can thing of for now.....I'm sure there are more.

Take care Max! Thanks for creating such an open forum where opinions can be expressed and we can learn from each other.

  35. Hey Ruth,

Thank you for joining the forum :)!
LS is a great debater, and it’s a great honour that he bestowes upon me such debate-gifts :)!

“1. Truth must be searched for as a precious jewel. We discover it reather than just accept it.” – Even when we discover a jewel our first reaction is to find out if it is really a jewel, or a semi-precious gem, or a simple stone…meaning that our mind needs to testify it as a jewel (thus accept it as such).

“3. Truth can be hidden from us or revealed to us.” – this one is very true lol (there are truths that are hidden from us; filtered…).

“4. We can be open to truth or we can harden our heart to truth.” – this is the same as allowing our intellect to accept the concept as being true.

“5. Truth must be weighed up in our spirit against our foundation of truth and then accepted, rejected or held in limbo until later confirmed or rejected” – here you agree with Kant.

“8. The truth can set us free.” – we only find the absolute truth when we are free.

Thank you so much for your thoughts, Ruth…it’s a pleasure to reading them :).
Please feel free to express whatever you feel like, I enjoy reading everyone’s opinions J…I am looking for the truth lol :).

    Take care

  36. Oh it will be nice to be free, but free when I am alived, so I was thinking okay jungle is the place, so much nature, do whatever we want, however, I forgot one aspect, I could be eaten there, lol. However, the real point of my comment is ruth and max you have brought some valid truth points again here, and as you already know the absolute truth is my favorite. Anna :)

  37. Max, I keep repeating myself, but I am glad that you accepted the follow up method you are currently using, your story just grows and grows now, nice. Anna :)

Yes, I know that the absolute truth is your fave; and your thoughts are most welcome here :). Ruth raised some great points as well, I was quite please with her input, it made me think :).

LOL it's ok, in the MAX you may repeat yourself all you like...this is the toleranceland lol lol :). I am glad I accepted it too (you see, I am repeating myself too *tender smile*). Thanks for your kindness :).
