The Unknown

After her sister’s burial, Maureen goes over to her sis’ house to clean up the place and put her things in boxes. Two hours after cleaning and washing, she begins to box Daphne’s books. A few minutes later she finds a collection of beautiful black handcrafted notebooks with the following title, engraved in silver: “Grimoir”. Tenderly she says to herself “Oh…so gifted and now the world will never know!” as she opens one of the books:

“Berkshire, 1st of May 2007

It’s 20:15. The moon is high (tomorrow it will be full), and it is almost time to meditate. The red candles were hard to find but in the end I managed to get them from a co-worker who produces wax images. I will cast the circle; place the yellow candle to the East, the red candle to the South, the blue candle to the West and the green candle to the North; the sword is polished, the grey linen tunic is placed where the circle will be cast (I must begin the works nude with my hair down); the wine is on the shrine; the cup is also there, the incense is already burning and the soil, I brought from Dar-es-salaam, is already in the proper jar. Tonight during the
Beltane celebrations I will get pregnant after putting into practice what I have learned with my “Magia Sexualis” master.
Oh, I can’t forget to put the Pentagram around my neck after taking off my clothes. My Cernunnos, my beloved Ewan will be here at 22:00; I still have time to….Oh my God!!! The cup has just broken by itself! I must call my Master to ask what this means! I bet he will…”

The air was suddenly cut by the sharp and quick sound of a book being abruptly closed «Oh my sweet Jesus!» in utter shock Maureen boxes all notebooks in the same containers and writes “Do not touch: under no circumstance!” on it. Then she leaves her sister’s house and runs off to her Auntie Deedee’s loft.
[Ring] «Who is it?» «It’s Maureen, Auntie Dee!» «Get right in, dear…the door is open!» Maureen rolls her eyes, nods and enters…
- Are you all right, dear? You seem so…(how can I describe it?)…As if somebody just died on you!
- Auntie Dee, I found a dreadful, devil’s work, an absolute anti-Christian, an appalling, a…a
- Your lexical intelligence is quite known, darling. Now, what is it really bothering you, Reen?
- Magia Sexualis…have you ever heard of such blasphemy, auntie?
- Say, did you finally find the courage to enlighten yourself, love?
- [Stammering] I-I-I…no, no…It was Daphne…she took a course, she even had a master!! A master for heaven’s sake! What would mama think of this?
- Oh, that! [Turning her back to prepare some brew] I knew all about it…
- [Wiping a tear] Why didn’t she tell me?
- Oh, dear…people like us don’t like to awake the ignorant beast in people like you…
- [Shocked] what do you mean by “people like me”!?
- [Tenderly] judgemental, hypocritical, dear. People who would love to do what we do yet do not dare…so sad! Manzanilla for the nerves, dear?
- [Crying] really…if mama was alive…she would die!
- Which mama? If by any chance you’re referring to my sister…she was a total witch! Sip you tea, dear, before it turns cold….

  1. Max,
I love the imagery of the candles, the beautiful colors, the details, the setting, etc.

Was Maureen shocked because Daphne recounted what she also does? Was she shocked because she didn't know these ceremonies took place? Did her own repressed sexual desires rise up to slap her in the face?

Like to know more about the Beltane celebrations? Is it fact or fiction? What about fertility statues? Daphne forgot her fertility statues. They always work. ;D

    So did Daphne get pregnant?

"Oh, dear…people like us don’t like to awake the ignorant beast in people like you." LOL

"…if mama was alive…she would die!" ROFL (((ha ha ha ha)))

I think Maureen's awakening lies in the tea. It is love potion # 9. Can't wait to see?

    Curiosity Cheers

  2. Hello Alexys!

"I love the imagery of the candles, the beautiful colors, the details, the setting, etc." - I am glad that you liked it, dear *bowing*!

"Was she shocked because she didn't know these ceremonies took place?" - one of the reasons too. Maureen is one of those women who feel that they must know everything that goes on inside the family; and when they hide something from her she feels betrayed. Plus, she believes to be her mom's replacement...

"Did her own repressed sexual desires rise up to slap her in the face?" - Touché!!!!!

"Like to know more about the Beltane celebrations? Is it fact or fiction?" - I have heard that it is fact, my dear...some groups still celebrate it. Beltane is the Spring festival; the time to melt the male and female forces and form. I have read that Beltane is the time for Handfasting (which is a Witch's form of marriage, a pledge of love between two people for as long as love lasts). It is also said that this rite belongs to the goddess in her aspect of Mother of all living.
In ancient times, people would dance around a big fire, while chanting. Unmarried young men and women would wear masks, and then while dancing they would choose the one they'd want to mate with (Morgana got pregnant by Arthur during Beltane celebrations; she didn't know it was him).

"What about fertility statues? Daphne forgot her fertility statues. They always work. ;D" - LOL LOL do they? But you see, Daphne was a beginner...lol.

"So did Daphne get pregnant?" - no, she didn't... :(

«"Oh, dear…people like us don’t like to awake the ignorant beast in people like you." LOL» - LOL LOL....

«"…if mama was alive…she would die!" ROFL (((ha ha ha ha)))» - I knew you would get my antithesis LOL...

"I think Maureen's awakening lies in the tea. It is love potion # 9. Can't wait to see?" - LOL LOL yeah, perhaps Auntie Dee was trying to turn her into a witch and end her sexual repression and misery...

    Manzanilla Cheers

So I noticed Top Commentators list, no idea how I got on the top, lol. BTW I just installed one on my photo blog today, right column, and you are number 2, since I am leading, lol.   19. Hello Max;

Let me open this up and have a look….

    You start…
    “The Unknown”

    I respond…
Interesting title Max that mixed with the imagery raises the curiosity…

    You said:

    I respond:
I have been one of those having to do this duty of going thru the belongings of a deceits’ person. It can be a challenging time; a person’s “secrets” can at times be left open to the naked eye. This should remind all of us that what we do is completely known by God (along with everything we say, think, etc).

Another interesting thing about these things is seeing how the person was still planning to do things up to the last moment, it often makes you think of how you would you live your life if you knew it was going to be gone in 24 hours….

These thoughts should aid us in how we live our lives, of course most do not want to face out mortality, although I am not morose I think about it often….

    You said:

Tonight during the Beltane celebrations I will get pregnant after putting into practice what I have learned with my “Magia Sexualis” master.

    I respond:
Interesting, there is nothing new under the sun; people have been making fools of themselves with sex shrines since humans decided to go against God, often attempting to experience “ecstatic” events in their lives. God of course makes it clear that those that practice these kinds of things are against Him…

Of course some choose to wrap such things up in “mystery”, there is nothing mysterious about them….

    You said:
Oh, I can’t forget to put the Pentagram around my neck after taking off my clothes. My Cernunnos, my beloved Ewan will be here at 22:00; I still have time to….Oh my God!!! The cup has just broken by itself! I must call my Master to ask what this means! I bet he will…”

    I respond:
Interesting the way you wrote that section, pagan rights and symbolism and then the writer blasphemes God…

Can the mind play tricks on itself? Yes…

Can demons make things appear certain ways? Yes..

Can they appear to perform “miracles” Yes…

Of course their loss is within sight….

    You said:
The air was suddenly cut by the sharp and quick sound of a book being abruptly closed «Oh my sweet Jesus!» in utter shock Maureen boxes all notebooks in the same containers and writes “Do not touch: under no circumstance!” on it. Then she leaves her sister’s house and runs off to her Auntie Deedee’s loft.

    I respond:
Do you know people that say “sweet Jesus”? I am always curious about that saying, it is not a word I would typically associate with Jesus….

What kind of warning is that???!!!
    LOL LOL

Is it like “may be a choking hazard for small children”?

Or… “Do not remove this label by punishment of federal law”?!! LOL

    You said:
[Ring] «Who is it?» «It’s Maureen, Auntie Dee!» «Get right in, dear…the door is open!» Maureen rolls her eyes, nods and enters…
    - Are you all right, dear? You seem so…(how can I describe it?)…As if somebody just died on you!
    - Auntie Dee, I found a dreadful, devil’s work, an absolute anti-Christian, an appalling, a…a

    I respond:
These kinds of things which so easily correlate to the sex shrines of the Old Testament, (clearly sin), are easily distinguishable, whereas the more subtle “respectable religions” seem respectable but actually are just as bad if not worse sin….

Worship of anybody or anything but the One True Living God, the Creator is sin no matter how people try to dress it up with smoke and mirrors, worshipping Allah is no different than this kind of thing…they are both anti-Jesus…anti-God…

    You said:
    - Your lexical intelligence is quite known, darling. Now, what is it really bothering you, Reen?
    - Magia Sexualis…have you ever heard of such blasphemy, auntie?
    - Say, did you finally find the courage to enlighten yourself, love?
    - [Stammering] I-I-I…no, no…It was Daphne…she took a course, she even had a master!! A master for heaven’s sake! What would mama think of this?
    - Oh, that! [Turning her back to prepare some brew] I knew all about it…

    I respond:
Auntie Deedee reminds me of Elizabeth from Winnipeg!!! LOL LOL

    LOL LOL
The “enlighten yourself” part is so funny!!! As if a person can “enlighten themselves”!!! LOL LOL If something is really so wondrous the Other must be the One to do the “enlightening”!! LOL

Once again I am reminded of those from the OT that worshipped at the sex shrines and similar persons of the New Testament times, plus those charlatans that came later, the Gnostics, who played smoke and mirrors making mystery out of lies! LOL Con-artists of “mystery”, perverting the truth and pretending they have a “secret higher knowledge” or “experience”. And of course they walk among us today….

    You said:

    I respond:
    LOL LOL
I always find it interesting that some people treat those who love purity and truth like they have a character flaw or are simpletons or are weak…

It is interesting to see who in this scene is truly “judgmental” or “hypocritical”…Of course many use the term “judgmental” as meaning that there is something wrong with saying something is evil or wrong. They use it to try and pretend there is nothing wrong with their sin… Do people not want murderers found guilty and to pay the penalty? Well judging is involved in that…But of course people want spiritual beliefs to be fuzzy, to pretend they all have equal validity…

I know and have known many witches; many are searching for mystery in life, to be touched by the great wisdom…

    The great mystery and wisdom…

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
    - - Colossians 2:2-3

Interesting ride Max! You presented it in a way that many facets can be explored.

Well written and interesting as usual…

You could do a part 2 to this one….

  20. Hello LS!

“Let me open this up and have a look….” – please do, my friend…shall I burn a stick of incense for you?

“Interesting title Max that mixed with the imagery raises the curiosity…” – Thank you *bowing*! Ah, that Ice pentagram is beautiful, isn’t it?

“I have been one of those having to do this duty of going thru the belongings of a deceits’ person. It can be a challenging time; a person’s “secrets” can at times be left open to the naked eye. This should remind all of us that what we do is completely known by God (along with everything we say, think, etc).” – you have? Secrets cannot be taken lightly…and we must keep reminding ourselves that we are not the ones to judge…challenging times indeed *nodding*!

“Another interesting thing about these things is seeing how the person was still planning to do things up to the last moment, it often makes you think of how you would you live your life if you knew it was going to be gone in 24 hours….” – indeed! I have answered to that question before (in a blog): I would spend time with my family, and I would take some time to meditate so that I could ask the Angels to guide me to the first realm in peace…how about you?

“These thoughts should aid us in how we live our lives, of course most do not want to face out mortality, although I am not morose I think about it often….” – I do too! And to be honest I am quite all right with it; when the day comes it came, and I will be ready to go if that is what God wills!

“Interesting, there is nothing new under the sun; people have been making fools of themselves with sex shrines since humans decided to go against God, often attempting to experience “ecstatic” events in their lives. God of course makes it clear that those that practice these kinds of things are against Him…” – LOL LOL…please, I am not laughing at your words; I am laughing at the predictability…I knew you would say this lol *nodding*! Anyway, Daphne didn’t have a sex shrine (that doesn’t even exist in white magic); a shrine is essential within a circle so that you can perform your ritual while being protected from evil spirits (evil never enters in a properly cast circle). She was probably doing a purification ritual before celebrating Beltaen (or Beltane)…
“Magia Sexualis” is a magic tool to be used with your partner or husband (if you practice with someone with whom you do not keep a steady relationship it won’t work); and obviously Daphne (the novice) was being misguided by her master. Plus, Magia sexualis is much more than what the title expresses; among other things it teaches decretism for example (to discipline the mind to will, to do things upon our order etc)…
God makes clear that people who are not born with His given gift and seek to get it are against Him. Witches work with the forces created by God and with nature (also created by Him). Prophets and High Priests (in the Bible) played the role of witches: they spoke to God and the Angels, they saw the future, they cured people, they read “runes” to solve situations…and yet God chose them, did He not?

“Of course some choose to wrap such things up in “mystery”, there is nothing mysterious about them….” – I agree that they represent no mystery to those who study and understand them. Yet to people who do not even dare reading about it, this subject is quite a mystery to them….

“Interesting the way you wrote that section, pagan rights and symbolism and then the writer blasphemes God…” – lol why does she blaspheme God when she utterly believes in Him? She is calling for His assistance in that dreadful hour…do you know what it means when a cup breaks by itself? It is a serious warning…from God’s Angels :)

“Can the mind play tricks on itself? Yes…” – but there are ways to see when the mind is playing tricks and when it is not…

“Can demons make things appear certain ways? Yes..” – a well trained witch knows when she/he is before demons or not…

“Can they appear to perform “miracles” Yes…” – no doubt, but the trained one knows when is the demon practicing “miracles” or not…

“Do you know people that say “sweet Jesus”? I am always curious about that saying, it is not a word I would typically associate with Jesus….” – LOL yes, I do know people who would say it. Why not? Isn’t Jesus sweet, as in kind? :)

“What kind of warning is that???!!! LOL LOL” – LOL LOL exactly, it is a warning of a disturbed, sexually repressed woman LOL…

“Is it like “may be a choking hazard for small children”?” – LOL LOL LOL…

“Or… “Do not remove this label by punishment of federal law”?!! LOL” – ROFL….

“These kinds of things which so easily correlate to the sex shrines of the Old Testament, (clearly sin), are easily distinguishable, whereas the more subtle “respectable religions” seem respectable but actually are just as bad if not worse sin….” – as I told you, Daphne had not a sex shrine (since in white magic there is no such concept)…but you are right about the apparent respectable religions *nodding*!

“Worship of anybody or anything but the One True Living God, the Creator is sin no matter how people try to dress it up with smoke and mirrors, worshipping Allah is no different than this kind of thing…they are both anti-Jesus…anti-God…” – What? Allah is God, what are you talking about *nodding*?
What gave you the impression that Daphne worshiped anything else but God?

“Auntie Deedee reminds me of Elizabeth from Winnipeg!!! LOL LOL” – LOL LOL no, Auntie Dee is nothing like Elizabeth, she is more educated and enlightened…however she is not tolerant towards intolerance…

“LOL LOL The “enlighten yourself” part is so funny!!! As if a person can “enlighten themselves”!!! LOL LOL If something is really so wondrous the Other must be the One to do the “enlightening”!! LOL” – lol one can enlighten oneself by reading, by watching a certain movie or scene…there are several ways to reach enlightenment. The Other created many ways for us to reach this delightful state.

“Once again I am reminded of those from the OT that worshipped at the sex shrines and similar persons of the New Testament times, plus those charlatans that came later, the Gnostics, who played smoke and mirrors making mystery out of lies! LOL Con-artists of “mystery”, perverting the truth and pretending they have a “secret higher knowledge” or “experience”. And of course they walk among us today….” – are you obsessed with sex shrines, or something LOL *nodding*? Why would you view Gnostics as Con-artists? Perverting what truth? The Truth or your view of the truth?

“LOL LOL I always find it interesting that some people treat those who love purity and truth like they have a character flaw or are simpletons or are weak…” – LOL many times those who claim to love purity and truth are full of flaws, are simpletons and weak. Only weak people have the need to judge and constantly point fingers at others, why? Cause they know that their faith is not well founded, that they may sway anytime…
Those who claim to love purity state that humans are not pure (they sin, they possess fallen natures, they have filthy minds etc) and the truth they defend is a limited one.

“It is interesting to see who in this scene is truly “judgmental” or “hypocritical”…Of course many use the term “judgmental” as meaning that there is something wrong with saying something is evil or wrong.” – you find auntie Dee judgemental and hypocritical? How interesting…is it because you do not agree with her lifestyle? What may seem evil to you, may not to me (because people call evil what they do not understand, what is unknown to them, what they dare not to study, to know, to unveil); and what may seem purity to you may seem evil to somebody else…
Wrong…what is wrong exactly? The fact that auntie Dee’s rituals and lifestyle are not in Scripture?

“They use it to try and pretend there is nothing wrong with their sin…” – what sin?

“I know and have known many witches; many are searching for mystery in life, to be touched by the great wisdom…” – some, yes…but is life that mysterious? No, not really…not if you look attentively, if you free your mind…

Beautiful passage (under a literary point of view) but of course Christ is not God. The word Christ (Christos, Mashiach, Messiah) means the anointed (as you well know), the chosen One, why would God anoint Himself? He anoints His servants not Himself…
That being said, Jesus was God’s servant, chosen to perform a task…

“Interesting ride Max! You presented it in a way that many facets can be explored.” – thank you so much, LS *bowing*! I must say that your comment was a delight, thank you so much :)

“Well written and interesting as usual…” – now, now…you are being all too kind, sir LS *bowing*!

“You could do a part 2 to this one….” – LOL you reckon? :)

Once again thank you so much for this fine moment, my friend…you never disappoint me :D!

    Cheers
