Manifesto against vulgarity

Shocking...
This past weekend I’ve submitted myself to torture: I actually watched a program on E! channel.
From times to times I like to know what the youth is watching; which celebrities they choose to idolise and which style, or trends, they choose to follow.

The program in question was “The 26 sexiest women in the world” and by the end of it I decided that I had to issue a manifesto:

I have always been in favour of freedom of speech, of expression…freedom per se. However I have always thought that we were intelligent enough to know that freedom is not entirely free and that being free doesn’t imply overlooking common sense and good taste.
Society has become decadent. Sensuality doesn’t equal a deep energetic connection anymore; being sexy doesn’t translate into the emanation of sensual scents that will attract the opposite sex any longer. Being sexual nowadays means to display common vulgarity and bad taste.

Wit, mystery, modesty, style; a certain way of walking, smiling, talking, and laughing; a tacit invitation, a look, a scent, a gesture, a stance…all this can be extremely sexy.
But apparently only a few share this opinion, for the majority is willing to accept women haters’ idea of what sexy is:

- Counterfeited breasts (some augment them to such sizes that one feels compelled to take pity on their spines)
- Lack of waist (why look like a woman when you can look like a man by working out 5 hours a day)
- “Liposuctioned” bellies (don’t love yourself, don’t exercise, don’t eat properly: just vacuum your fat)
- Nipples, thighs, buttocks exposure (does this mean that the world is about to become a huge “Bada-Bing”?)
- Having been arrested
- Having been seen in an alcoholic coma
- Assaulting law enforcement agents in airports
- Make use of fowl language

All this is worthy of being labelled as “Bad Girl” and from what I heard this is considered to be extremely sexy.

What are we doing? Are we so half wit that we do not realise that we are encouraging disrespect towards women? That our young men are being induced to believe that female counterfeit is the reflection of reality (and then when they grow up to marry normal and beautiful women, they feel like losers because they didn’t marry a “siliconised” Barbie)?

As a human being, I feel embarrassed.
Vulgarity should be repudiated.
Class, chic, elegance, style should be extolled.

Now that I have let it out my chest, I feel much better. But I wonder if until the end of the week I’ll be able to recover from the trauma.
Shocking…

  1. This is a great post Max! Recently my husband and I have been watching some old movies. It is interesting to watch how sexuality was portrayed in an era when crudity wasn't allowed. Often, movie critics extol the greatness of Hitchcock who they called the "Master of suspense". He was able to frighten people just as much by what he DIDN'T show as what he DID show. He did the same with sex. His characters kiss, but everything else is only alluded to. One of his favorite female actors was Grace Kelly. In every movie, she was very appropriately dressed, never showing too much skin. But there is no doubt that she was one of the most beautiful actresses of our time, and all without flaunting her body or sexuality.

"Are we so half wit that we do not realise that we are encouraging disrespect towards women? That our young men are being induced to believe that female counterfeit is the reflection of reality (and then when they grow up to marry normal and beautiful women, they feel like losers because they didn’t marry a “siliconised” Barbie)?" AMEN! I think this is the biggest problem of all because young men are being sensitized to think that a normal sexual relationship resembles that of a relationship with a prostitute. They have a warped view of reality.
I do think I'm somewhat shielded, but it is self imposed. I don't watch R or X rated movies...I dont' want to see what they have to offer. I don't listen to music or watch shows that portray vulgarity. Some might say that I'm ignoring reality, but I say their view of reality is warped.

  2. MAX:

Now this is an interesting topic, or topics I should say, because you touched on several subjects.

I will only address one of them: The idea of American acceptance of the nude form.

You, of all people, probably know that the rest of the world thinks that American Puritanism is a joke. We treat the human body as if it's a sin to even have a body, and then we show it on the tube and the silver screen and hide and giggle like school girls because we get a glimpse of someone's unmentionables. It's stupid. Unmentionables never hurt anyone.

As to the argument of what's natural? Nudism is natural! Please. Most people in the world treat the human body as just what it is - a body - nothing more and nothing less. But Americans treat it as the source of all that is wrong. Silicone? That's not the problem. Liposuction? That's not the problem. The problem is that people define the body as bad based upon their personal life perspective. On your site, for instance, you show a nude body. Is it bad? Of course not! Is it sexual? No. Is it a bit pious? Absolutely. So, in that case, it's perfectly okay. I don't buy it.

The problem with our acceptance of the nude form is our acceptance with the nude form - no strings attached.

    Rambling over.

Nice post. You should get some fiery comments.

    Happy trails.

  3. Hey D!

    :D

"This is a great post Max!" - why, thank you *bowing*!

"It is interesting to watch how sexuality was portrayed in an era when crudity wasn't allowed." - yes, I have spent some time analysing these differences too; you are right - it is very interesting indeed.

"Often, movie critics extol the greatness of Hitchcock who they called the "Master of suspense". He was able to frighten people just as much by what he DIDN'T show as what he DID show. He did the same with sex. His characters kiss, but everything else is only alluded to." - Hitchcock was incredible! I have noticed that humans become more creative when they are under duress. In Hitchcock's time there was this mystery in art that was pleasant but it also makes us wonder if it isn't a bit too much...

"One of his favorite female actors was Grace Kelly. In every movie, she was very appropriately dressed, never showing too much skin. But there is no doubt that she was one of the most beautiful actresses of our time, and all without flaunting her body or sexuality." - Grace Kelly was indeed classy. And even though she was a "Caesar's wife" kind of women outside the screen set, she at least knew how to dress and behave in public.

"AMEN! I think this is the biggest problem of all because young men are being sensitized to think that a normal sexual relationship resembles that of a relationship with a prostitute. They have a warped view of reality." - exactly...

"I do think I'm somewhat shielded, but it is self imposed. I don't watch R or X rated movies...I dont' want to see what they have to offer." - I don't watch porn either...the lack of class in it, shocks me.

"I don't listen to music or watch shows that portray vulgarity. Some might say that I'm ignoring reality, but I say their view of reality is warped." - it's a free world, dear; you choose whatever you want to watch or listen to; and it's nobody's business.

D, I really appreciated your comment, for which I thank you *bowing*! :D

    Cheers

  4. Hey Swu! :D

"Now this is an interesting topic, or topics I should say, because you touched on several subjects." - lol yes, it is...and a tough one too...

"I will only address one of them: The idea of American acceptance of the nude form." - please do! That is a topic that has always intrigued me.

"You, of all people, probably know that the rest of the world thinks that American Puritanism is a joke." - Europeans do think that American Puritanism is hypocritical...

"We treat the human body as if it's a sin to even have a body, and then we show it on the tube and the silver screen and hide and giggle like school girls because we get a glimpse of someone's unmentionables. It's stupid. Unmentionables never hurt anyone." - LOL true, so true. I agree with you "unmentionables" are harmless. And a body is just a body, it's a shell and nothing more than that.

"But Americans treat it as the source of all that is wrong. Silicone? That's not the problem. Liposuction? That's not the problem. The problem is that people define the body as bad based upon their personal life perspective." - shocking...but I know exactly what you mean! And then America has these celebrities who try too hard to go against the national Puritanism, and I may say that they go overboard in their endeavour. Europe and nudity have a normal relationship, nudity is present in our art, literature, movies, music etc, and for that reason our celebrities do not show up in public displaying vulgarity. We do not find it chic to utter fowl language...however we may find it interesting to see a drunk singer on stage though...but that's another issue.

"On your site, for instance, you show a nude body. Is it bad? Of course not! Is it sexual? No. Is it a bit pious? Absolutely. So, in that case, it's perfectly okay. I don't buy it." - of course this cupid nude body is not bad, it's beautiful! Not sexual. Is it pious? I guess it depends on how one looks at it. LOL I get you!

"The problem with our acceptance of the nude form is our acceptance with the nude form - no strings attached." - Bravo!! America should learn from Europe to just chill...just chill...

"Rambling over." - I loved your rambling, Swu :D!

"Nice post. You should get some fiery comments." - thank you, my friend *bowing*! LOL LOL that would be quite interesting LOL...

Swu, thank you so much for this superb comment; I loved it and I must say that you are the first American I hear denouncing the American Puritanism *bowing*!

    Cheers

  5. I'm ashamed to say I got used to it because, well, let's be honest, US TV is pretty trashy.

I hate programs like body makeover, making these women feel bad about themselves while they are already beautiful. Makes me very angry.

Language... well, that's not the thing that bothers me the most. I hate English people who don't even try to speak properly though, like the "I ain't see nowt" etc.

Drugs and the like... I haven't had an idol in long time but I feel sorry for the so called stars most of time. Feels like a zoo to me...

Are there times when the influences of our depraved Fallenness is displayed more prominently? Yes. Sometimes in the kinds of things you allude to, other times in how we do not love our neighbour or our enemies, it can be displayed prominently in many ways…including with religion…

Sexy….“trampy” is easy…anybody can do it so it is a successful way to market…

Let me venture to replace “sexy” with a different concept…one that is often derided… “lady”…I pack into this word “refined”, “intelligent”, “articulate”, “dignified”, “feminine”, “modest”, “compassionate”, “virtuous character”, “diligent”, “creative”, “servant leader” (for me the highest quality of leadership), “truthful”, “passionate about life”, a woman of such presence and nobility of character that her person demands respect and attention…

    I respond:
I remember when the feminist movement was against prostitution, strippers, and the sexualizing of women, now all the feminists support this…“you got it you flaunt it”. We are in a state of hyper-bread-and-circuses, however as the bread is becoming a problem it will be very interesting to watch the circuses, I believe the “have nots” will become rather incensed by the “haves” (ala Tale of Two Cities). Then the pendulum will swing back…

I recently had an opportunity to talk to a woman a few years older than myself that was speaking glowingly about the free sex of the 60’s and how it has changed today with all the disease, what was interesting was how she had no association between the two, the catalyst and the consequences…Cause and effect…or cause and DEfect

Interesting insights into your personal character….I see know way of changing this kind of thing (in a real way) with rules, religion or morality…people need a personal transformation…of course the pendulum will swing the other way for some parts of society as the grave consequences of such actions become apparent but it will again swing back to the dominant extolling of sin…under the guise of freedom which is really slavery…

  7. OMG, Max. I know what you mean? I do the same thing. I was channel surfing recently (not really a TV person) and I came across a show called, "Manswers." It showed everything from how to remove a bullet at home, how to get drunk fast, how to proposition a prostitute without getting arrested, how to cheat on a drug test, how women with breast implants like more sex and everything you can imagine that would appeal to a man.

On another "game" show called Moment Of Truth, people admit to cheating on spouses, not loving spouses, marrying for money, fleeing the scenes of accidents, starting fires, breaking the law, etc. all for money. It is an awful state of humanity.

"I have always thought that we were intelligent enough to know that freedom is not entirely free and that being free doesn’t imply overlooking common sense and good taste."

Brilliant Max! Just brilliant. When we speak of personal freedom and civil liberties, we are not only talking about how we can improve our quality of living, but using our knowledge to help elevate the consciousness of the people. And by elevating ourselves I don't just mean reaching up, but reaching out and around.

    "Society has become decadent."

I used to think this too, until I started looking at different centuries from the Greeks, Roman, Egyptians, Victorian era (Queen Victoria used to have several conquests under her frock), etc. I think THEY were really decadent because they didn't live as long and they fought/stole everything they had. (abridged version of thought) Societies have always been decadent but as we gain more wisdom we think it is new concept.

"Sensuality doesn’t equal a deep energetic connection anymore; being sexy doesn’t translate into the emanation of sensual scents that will attract the opposite sex any longer. Being sexual nowadays means to display common vulgarity and bad taste."

Yes! Yes! Yes! Sensuality often gets pushed aside at the hands of haste.

"Wit, mystery, modesty, style; a certain way of walking, smiling, talking, and laughing; a tacit invitation, a look, a scent, a gesture, a stance…all this can be extremely sexy."

True. Walking the walk and talking the talk.

"Counterfeited breasts (some augment them to such sizes that one feels compelled to take pity on their spines)"

    Pamela Anderson.

"Lack of waist (why look like a woman when you can look like a man by working out 5 hours a day)"

ROFL. Tears rolling down face. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

“Liposuctioned” bellies (don’t love yourself, don’t exercise, don’t eat properly: just vacuum your fat)"

There is a scene in the film Fight Club where they are making soap out of the discarded fat of liposuction.

"Nipples, thighs, buttocks exposure (does this mean that the world is about to become a huge “Bada-Bing”?)"

This cracks me up. (Get it?) Plumber's cracks, whale tails and the like are too much for my eyes.

"Having been arrested/Having been seen in an alcoholic coma."

Amy Winehouse. Not to mention punching out fans with a left hook.

"Assaulting law enforcement agents in airports"

    Naomi Campbell

    "Make use of fowl language"

    That's for the birds.

"All this is worthy of being labelled as “Bad Girl” and from what I heard this is considered to be extremely sexy."

This is despicable and definitely NOT SEXY!

"Are we so half wit that we do not realise that we are encouraging disrespect towards women? That our young men are being induced to believe that female counterfeit is the reflection of reality (and then when they grow up to marry normal and beautiful women, they feel like losers because they didn’t marry a “siliconised” Barbie)?"

It is a sad affair. I see a lot of this in Los Angeles. It has become the norm to see Barbie's here.

"As a human being, I feel embarrassed. Vulgarity should be repudiated. Class, chic, elegance, style should be extolled."

Lifting you up, praising your wise words and extolling your virtues. Hail Max. (The crowd cheers, applauds, whistles, and chants, "Speech, speech, speech...")

"Now that I have let it out my chest, I feel much better."

Glad you got it off of your chest. Don't keep it bottled up. We are always here to hear what you have to say.

Absolutely right on target. This should be a wake up call to us all. Bravo for bringing it to the forefront.

    Totally Invigorating Cheers.

  8. I can tell you have class by your opinions.

I am so sorry for my long absences, there has been much business travel in the month of June and the Summer is a time for family fun.

I hope all is well with you too Max. Everything is good here. The Summer is beautiful.

  9. Lol oswegan.

Max everything you speak of is the truth.

I was watching an entertainment tonight show the other night, which I don't do often, did you know there is a celebrity blog out there that had 8,000,000 hits in one day, he was posting about Paris or something deep like that, it's a shame but that's what the average person wants.

Somehow by reading about the woes and extravagances our celebrities gives us comfort and something to talk about at the water cooler at work.

I guess to get more traffic to your's and my sites we are going to have to put in words like Britney Spears and the such.

We have become as a society so desensitized that every new news item has to be more and more criminal, more sexist, more vulgar, more stupid then the one before if it's going to make the headlines. where will it all end?

  10. I know what you mean...it is shocking indeed to see how far it's gone. :-((((

I wonder, though, how parents can guide teenagers through this madness in the best possible way...hmmm...

  12. Hello LS! :D

"Whew! At first I thought you speaking of my emails…." - LOL LOL no, never! Your emails are not a torture; au contraire, mon ami...

"Why would anybody want to be “sexy”? It is simply a synonym for “trashy”, “slutty” or “easy” all things anybody can do…..even the ugliest of us…." - by the quotation marks I gather you mean "sexy as in the notion of women haters"...then the answer is: beats me! LOL LOL "even the ugliest of us" LOL *nodding*. But yes, you are right...to these people being sexy is indeed being trashy, slutty, easy...

"However I recognize that in our society many young women want to be “sexy” which guys outwardly call “sexy” but among themselves and in their heads declare by the other words I mentioned, understand I don’t say these things in judgment but simply as the simple truth…" - I know what you mean...and I subscribe your words...

"Freedom should never be mistaken for anarchy…" - Amen to that, brother!

"I don’t think it has changed since the Fruit in the Garden…Human nature is blurred, cracked, dishevelled, broken, Fallen…" - whoa, be gentle to us LOL LOL...please....LOL...

"the only reason we survive is because of the image God being impressed upon us (which is there if we can cut thru the smoke and mirrors) and His care…" - *clap clap clap*...beautiful.

"Are there times when the influences of our depraved Fallenness is displayed more prominently? Yes. Sometimes in the kinds of things you allude to, other times in how we do not love our neighbour or our enemies, it can be displayed prominently in many ways…including with religion…" - yes, when we don't love our neighbour we are being as vulgar as the trashy people out there. Oh religion...that is a topic for another article...

"Sexy….“trampy” is easy…anybody can do it so it is a successful way to market…" - when I use Sexy I mean that it turns our sexual sign on; when I say "sexy"...my sexual signs go definitely out LOL. "Trampy" as you say, can be done by anyone; but Sexy can only be done by a few.

"Let me venture to replace “sexy” with a different concept…one that is often derided… “lady”…I pack into this word “refined”, “intelligent”, “articulate”, “dignified”, “feminine”, “modest”, “compassionate”, “virtuous character”, “diligent”, “creative”, “servant leader” (for me the highest quality of leadership), “truthful”, “passionate about life”, a woman of such presence and nobility of character that her person demands respect and attention…" - Wow! I very much enjoyed this...please, by all means, do replace "sexy"...these words should convert the "trampy" to become "lady"...very good!

"Udder folly….get it udder….???" - ROFL...I get it, of course...brilliant pun LOL LOL you kill me LOL LOL *nodding*!

"Nothing wrong with a slender waist, besides so many guys have bellies…" - I don't think bulging is a good option for men; it may interfere with their sexual performance...

"Vacuumed bodies and dust bunnies injected into the lips…." - so sad...

"No doubt modesty is far preferable…" - LS, we don't agree most of the times, but this is one of those rare times when I must say...I utterly agree with you!

"Oh that is so attractive!!! Not being able to pass passport control is so hot!!! LOL" - LOL LOL LOL LOL...*nodding*...

"Even worse is the fact that the conversation was just as intellectual before and after…." - true...so so sad...

"Did you say stun gun….?" - LOL no, not just yet...RR LOL...

"We would not want to sound intelligent would we?" - LOL LOL indeed *tears in eyes of so much laughter* you are unbeatable today!
"The rapid growth in public prominence of guttural language has largely been gifted to us by rap…." - "guttural language" LOL classy! Oh please, I listen to rap and I do not make use of "guttural language" in my day by day communication; people who are prone to vulgarity use/used rap as an excuse to utter verbal trash...

"Sounds more like “Sad Girl”….very sad….”Sad Girl…Sad Girl…watcha gonna do?”" - ROFL....that was a good one! LOL LOL *hand on my stomach* LOL LOL LOL....

"I remember when the feminist movement was against prostitution, strippers, and the sexualizing of women, now all the feminists support this…“you got it you flaunt it”." - HA! Don't even get me started on the feminist movement...if women are disrespected today is because this movement's role was not properly played. In the past women were not heard (some cultures dispute this), they didn't vote...but then the suffragists took care of that; then women were still not heard (this can be disputed in some cultures), they didn't have free sexuality...the feminists promised to take care of that.

"We are in a state of hyper-bread-and-circuses, however as the bread is becoming a problem it will be very interesting to watch the circuses, I believe the “have nots” will become rather incensed by the “haves” (ala Tale of Two Cities). Then the pendulum will swing back…" - the bread is definitely becoming a problem...is it such a problem that the press went nuts and began criticising the dinner of the G8 in Japan *nodding*. I agree with you: the pendulum will swing back...it will be interesting to watch.

"I recently had an opportunity to talk to a woman a few years older than myself that was speaking glowingly about the free sex of the 60’s and how it has changed today with all the disease, what was interesting was how she had no association between the two, the catalyst and the consequences…Cause and effect…or cause and DEfect" - cause and defect, without a doubt. That is what I have learned too, the former hippies (or hippie associated) do not realise that it all started with them; on the other hand they were the product of excessive moralism; and we know the result of excesses: antithetical excesses!

"Interesting insights into your personal character….I see know way of changing this kind of thing (in a real way) with rules, religion or morality" - I never said that rules, religion or morality were the key to change. It must come from within each of us...

    "…people need a personal transformation…" - we agree.

"of course the pendulum will swing the other way for some parts of society as the grave consequences of such actions become apparent but it will again swing back to the dominant extolling of sin…under the guise of freedom which is really slavery…" - indeed, even if it changes, history has proven that it will, at some point, go back to this devious excesses...humans are decadent, and history keeps repeating itself.

"LOL LOL LOL Blogging can be so therapeutic! LOL" - LOL LOL absolutely! It was a delight to do catharsis online LOL...

"Would you say the image you selected is a personification of what you prefer? (Another great piece of art as usual Princess of the Wondrous Art Eyes…)" - yes, the image selected is personification of class, style, modesty, elegance...which is exactly what I prefer. Why, thank you, Prince of the Blade *bowing*!

"I note that she is a lady..." - indeed... :)

"Great article Maximus…..I loved the energy and passion you packed into it….and how you exploited those emotions…" - thank you so much, LS! I am glad you loved it :D!

  13. Hi Alexys! :D

"OMG, Max. I know what you mean? I do the same thing." - sometimes we just have to yield and learn what people are watching nowadays *nodding*...it's a tough task lol.

"I was channel surfing recently (not really a TV person) and I came across a show called, "Manswers." It showed everything from how to remove a bullet at home, how to get drunk fast, how to proposition a prostitute without getting arrested, how to cheat on a drug test, how women with breast implants like more sex and everything you can imagine that would appeal to a man." - how to proposition a prostititue? That is a trashy program *nodding*! Now, people of the masculine gender who like to watch these shows, and accept that its contents appeal them, they can hardly called themselves men...they are males.
You must have been horrified before such TV terror lol...

"On another "game" show called Moment Of Truth, people admit to cheating on spouses, not loving spouses, marrying for money, fleeing the scenes of accidents, starting fires, breaking the law, etc. all for money. It is an awful state of humanity." - that is dreadful! You're right: an awful state of humanity indeed. To what has the world come to?

"Brilliant Max! Just brilliant." - thank you, darling *bowing*!

"When we speak of personal freedom and civil liberties, we are not only talking about how we can improve our quality of living, but using our knowledge to help elevate the consciousness of the people. And by elevating ourselves I don't just mean reaching up, but reaching out and around." - *clap clap clap* well said, sista! What people don't seem to realise is that we are not here just for ourselves; part of our mission (whichever it may be) is to act in such a way that we improve our surroundings, our community, our society by consequence. It is a huge responsibility to be a human being, and the world is neglecting it, and for what? Common vulgarity.

"I used to think this too, until I started looking at different centuries from the Greeks, Roman, Egyptians, Victorian era (Queen Victoria used to have several conquests under her frock), etc. I think THEY were really decadent because they didn't live as long and they fought/stole everything they had. (abridged version of thought) Societies have always been decadent but as we gain more wisdom we think it is new concept." - under that point of view you are correct; but perhaps I demand too much of us. I think that after everything we have been through, with all the times we have reincarnated, we should know better; we should learn from history and act differently, and it is in that sense that I keep repeating that we have become decadent. Before we were just decadent; now we are decadent within decadence...and there is no excuse for it, not with all the knowledge available to us.

"Yes! Yes! Yes! Sensuality often gets pushed aside at the hands of haste." - another herbal essences moment lol! Oh yeah...

"Pamela Anderson." - LOL LOL (one of the 26 sexiest) and to think that she was so beautiful when she first started *nodding*!

"ROFL. Tears rolling down face. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha." - LOL LOL LOL...it's true. I have this feeling that I don't see waists since the 80's, it's terrible! Since the 90's women strive to have 6 pack abs...women and 6 packs abs!? Please....

"There is a scene in the film Fight Club where they are making soap out of the discarded fat of liposuction." - disgusting! I watched that movie...

"This cracks me up. (Get it?) Plumber's cracks, whale tails and the like are too much for my eyes." - LOL LOL LOL yeah, I get it LOL...My eyes have seizures whenever they see plumber's cracks and whale tails...distasteful!

"Amy Winehouse. Not to mention punching out fans with a left hook." - LOL LOL poor Amy, she is our pecadillo *nodding*! LOL LOL I was shocked when I read about that...she is in house arrest, did you know that? But she did sing well at Mandela's Birthday concert!

"Naomi Campbell" - she was one of the "26 sexiest" too, society not only promotes a twisted sexuality but also lauds bad behaviour.

"That's for the birds." - LOL LOL...

"This is despicable and definitely NOT SEXY!" - Not sexy at all!!!

"It is a sad affair. I see a lot of this in Los Angeles. It has become the norm to see Barbie's here." - couldn't they just stayed as dolls? Did they have to become humans too? Shocking...
This is why my mom never gave me a Barbie doll, and now I see that she was right.

"Lifting you up, praising your wise words and extolling your virtues. Hail Max. (The crowd cheers, applauds, whistles, and chants, "Speech, speech, speech...")" - thank you! Thank you...now put me down, please...I...am...almost falling here...ah, ok; thanks! "My dear fans, thank you so much for your support. I invite you to join me on this anti-vulgarity campaign and, together we shall help the world restoring its past glory of class, integrity, love, silk, and art! Thank you once again, and like the former king said "you are a beautiful audience"!" LOL LOL....

"Glad you got it off of your chest. Don't keep it bottled up. We are always here to hear what you have to say." - ooh that was sweet, thank you! This deserves a group hug *group hug*!

"Absolutely right on target. This should be a wake up call to us all. Bravo for bringing it to the forefront." - thanks, darling! Merci *bowing*!

Alexys, epharisto for this great comment; conversing with you is a true pleasure and an entertaining moment...you make me laugh like crazy and at the same time your wisdom enlightens me, grazie :D!

Although you were missed, I understand that life and family come first always :D! I am glad you are having fun with your wife and kids!

"I hope all is well with you too Max. Everything is good here. The Summer is beautiful." - yes, everything is well with me, thanks :D! That is good to know, my friend! Indeed, the Summer is gorgeous!

"Max everything you speak of is the truth." - share your thoughts, my friend....

"I was watching an entertainment tonight show the other night, which I don't do often, did you know there is a celebrity blog out there that had 8,000,000 hits in one day, he was posting about Paris or something deep like that, it's a shame but that's what the average person wants." - "or something deep like that" LOL LOL LOL! 8,000,000 hits in one day? My Lord...the world is more futile than we thought, Bob! Yeah, it is a shame indeed...

"Somehow by reading about the woes and extravagances our celebrities gives us comfort and something to talk about at the water cooler at work." - now isn't that appalling? Thank heavens I have far better things to talk about than media manipulation of celebs' life.

"I guess to get more traffic to your's and my sites we are going to have to put in words like Britney Spears and the such." - ROFL....hell no! I prefer to keep my traffic as it is, thank you very much!

"We have become as a society so desensitized that every new news item has to be more and more criminal, more sexist, more vulgar, more stupid then the one before if it's going to make the headlines. where will it all end?" - I can tell you it will probably all end in a puritan society if this doesn't change soon. And we don't want that either!

Bob, thanks for this superb thought sharing; I loved it! :D

"I wonder, though, how parents can guide teenagers through this madness in the best possible way...hmmm..." - it's quite simple: parents must come out of their selfish shell and spend their spare time with their kids, talk to them. When they are at work, they must ensure that their offspring is occupied in activities up to their neck, that way they won't have time to consume TV garbage. Not to mention that teenagers should interact more with family, their community etc...

Girl, thanks for sharing your view with us :D!

  18. Hi Max,
That is why I label E! as "trash TV." Stations like this are making such vulgarity acceptable, and you made a strong case here for pointing out that what passes for sexy these days is actually open sexuality. Ever wonder why college aged girls feel free to flash their chests to anyone with a video camera and why people are making millions selling thses DVDs? It is because what was once titillation has become out and out decadence. Thanks Max.

  19. Hi Max,

"...sometimes we just have to yield and learn what people are watching nowadays *nodding*...it's a tough task."

It IS extremely tough when people with values have to watch shows like this devalue us as people. I am all for entertaining, but shows like these go beyond entertaining and people believe that everyone embraces what those shows tell us to embrace.

"...how to proposition a prostititue? That is a trashy program *nodding*! Now, people of the masculine gender who like to watch these shows, and accept that its contents appeal them, they can hardly called themselves men...they are males."

I just call them degenerates. LOL. They are spiritually deplete and morally bankrupt. I know they are still a part of society that I must embrace in a different way, as God would. Sometimes it IS tough.

"You must have been horrified before such TV terror lol..."

Horrified and sickened that for every stride we make as women, shows like these push us back into the dark ages. I was in such a state of shock that this show exists and I am afraid to say, it is probably popular too. If I put myself in the shoes of a raging hormonal male, I can see how they would embrace such a show.

"What people don't seem to realise is that we are not here just for ourselves; part of our mission (whichever it may be) is to act in such a way that we improve our surroundings, our community, our society by consequence. It is a huge responsibility to be a human being, and the world is neglecting it, and for what? Common vulgarity."

A nice trade off if one sees nothing to strive for. Vulgarity is indeed vulgar in every respect of the word.

"...perhaps I demand too much of us. I think that after everything we have been through, with all the times we have reincarnated, we should know better; we should learn from history and act differently, and it is in that sense that I keep repeating that we have become decadent. Before we were just decadent; now we are decadent within decadence...and there is no excuse for it, not with all the knowledge available to us."

I don't blame you for feeling that way. We have to have a certain standard that is above and beyond in order to process how we see the world and how the world is. Karmically we have to keep reincarnating until we get the poison out of our system. I understand where you are coming from and applaud where you are going. (Applause.)

"...another herbal essences moment lol! Oh yeah..."

    LOL

"Pamela Anderson." - LOL LOL (one of the 26 sexiest) and to think that she was so beautiful when she first started"

Don't get me started on the politics of magazine voting. You would be surprised how crooked it is. I demand a recount! I have seen her without make-up.

"Since the 90's women strive to have 6 pack abs...women and 6 packs abs!? Please...."

Now people are touting 8 packs. I even heard than some women have a rib removed to achieve this. Nip/Tuck takes its most bizarre stories from real life.

    "I watched that movie...[Fight Club]"

I must say, I watched it thinking it was going to be one thing and I was pleasantly surprised that it was about something deeper. The disenfranchised and the downtrodden. I think it was well written. Fighting is a metaphor. It is about fighting inequities in society.

Here is a favorite quote from the film:

"Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy sh** we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off."

"My eyes have seizures whenever they see plumber's cracks and whale tails...distasteful!"

    ROFL.

"I was shocked when I read about that...she is in house arrest, did you know that?"

She is? That slipped by me.

"But she did sing well at Mandela's Birthday concert!"

    I heard that one.

"Naomi Campbell" - she was one of the "26 sexiest" too, society not only promotes a twisted sexuality but also lauds bad behaviour."

I am shocked. Who was voting, Stevie Wonder? If anything I think the make-up artists and hair stylists should be rewarded.

"...couldn't they just stayed as dolls? Did they have to become humans too? Shocking..."

I don't like them as dolls or humans. They give women a false sense of themselves and poor body image.

"This is why my mom never gave me a Barbie doll, and now I see that she was right."

Your mom is so wise. Tell her, "Hi" for me and give her a pat on the back for a job well done.

"Thank you...now put me down, please...I...am...almost falling here...ah, ok; thanks! "My dear fans, thank you so much for your support. I invite you to join me on this anti-vulgarity campaign and, together we shall help the world restoring its past glory of class, integrity, love, silk, and art! Thank you once again, and like the former king said "you are a beautiful audience"!"

The crowd goes crazy. Cheering. Screaming. Whistling. Throwing roses. Air kisses. Peace signs. They shout in unison, "Max. Max. Max. Max. Max."

I will be selling posters, audio and DVD's of the event.

    Group hug. Squeezing.

"It IS extremely tough when people with values have to watch shows like this devalue us as people. I am all for entertaining, but shows like these go beyond entertaining and people believe that everyone embraces what those shows tell us to embrace." - indeed, they demean people *nodding*. True, and everybody assumes that everyone watches that garbage - many moons ago people, in the streets, would start talking about trashy TV shows with me, I didn't even know what they were talking about...and they looked at me as if I were an Alien (can you believe it?)!

"I just call them degenerates. LOL. They are spiritually deplete and morally bankrupt. I know they are still a part of society that I must embrace in a different way, as God would. Sometimes it IS tough." - you said it all, girl "spiritually deplete and morally bankrupt" *nodding*! I know what you mean, I also try to embrace everybody, but it is sooo tough sometimes...

"Horrified and sickened that for every stride we make as women, shows like these push us back into the dark ages. I was in such a state of shock that this show exists and I am afraid to say, it is probably popular too. If I put myself in the shoes of a raging hormonal male, I can see how they would embrace such a show." - you bet it is popular; there are still a lot of neatherthals out there! I do try to look at people as people (ignoring their gender) but it is a bit hard; and many times I find myself telling God "If I must reincarnate, let me come back as a woman again, please!"...

"A nice trade off if one sees nothing to strive for. Vulgarity is indeed vulgar in every respect of the word." - so sad *nodding*....

"Now people are touting 8 packs. I even heard than some women have a rib removed to achieve this. Nip/Tuck takes its most bizarre stories from real life." - 8 packs? LOL LOL women are losing it!! Remove a rib...they really want to be like men, then...dreadful!

I think it was well written. Fighting is a metaphor. It is about fighting inequities in society." - yes, it had its deep side (specially the dialogues), but it was a bit violent to me...

Great quote!!! And how true it is! This quote, Alexys, is so a propos this post! Vulgarity of the minds, of the behaviours, of the concepts of modern life...of modern slavery; yes...he said it all!

    "ROFL." - LOL...

"She is? That slipped by me." - yeah, she is...poor thing...

The hair-stylists and make-up artists are the true sexiest ones...their art is amazing. And she is who she is because of their art...because Naomi, herself, is not all that (although she had all the ingredients to be).

  26. Now, I just can't agree more with you Max...you have just hit the nail where it should be...somehow I will just wish a common world sense prevails and bring some sanity...another thing that should be mentioned here is also about the beauty pageants which have become mere display of flesh. I don't know by just appearing in skimpy outfits, how can one look more beautiful...but in every part of the world this ridiculousness has spread like anything and its true it has a huge negative impact on the youth and tend to believe in a make believe world and when they realise the truth its just oo late...I will do hope a common sense prevails at large and this obscene display stop at the earliest...Nice writing!

  27. Interesting topic and comments here! Like many of the commenters, I've become very adverse to the increasingly ridiculous plastic surgery I see in those who are getting the spotlight these days ... but I'm seeing it in a different way, I guess. The over-inflated breasts which nearly pop out of low-cut blouses, for instance, don't seem sexy to me ... because I see a woman who is screaming "I don't like my body, not the one I was given, anyway. I'm not good enough." All the botox says "I'm afraid of aging ... and I'll go to extreme lengths to deny that I am growing older." All the young "stars" acting out sexually? Well, children act out when they're wounded, when something's wrong in their worlds. Yet it seems to be contagious! So I wonder if any woman or woman/child in the western world loves herself as she is, or respects her sexuality. Then, if I look around the world, I see another extreme ... where the female body and face is literally hidden away under burqas to insure modesty ... and where the rules regarding sex (and the sexes) are very unbalanced and rigid. I don't see either extreme as healthy. I think both types of women are walking around in human-made prisons. Both are suffering somehow. And, to me, this seems needless. Provide societies where a woman is brought up to believe her body and sexuality are good and beautiful just as God created them, and that they are gifts to be respected, appreciated ... in that situation, it seems to me, that morality (directly from within) is a natural outcome.

Ha ha. I can believe it, but I think THEY were the aliens, not you. You're an angel my dear. :D

"...there are still a lot of neatherthals out there! I do try to look at people as people (ignoring their gender) but it is a bit hard; and many times I find myself telling God "If I must reincarnate, let me come back as a woman again, please!"..."

"Some humans have a lot of poison, let me tell you...but then we have those sweet humans (like yourself) that offset that same poison with their spiritual antidote *bowing*!"

Aw, how sticky sweet. Thanks. Are you trying to butter me up for something?

    "What's the verdict? [Pamela Anderson]

My friend was on the film set when she was filming that camp classic called, Barbed Wire. According to him, she had 16 body doubles on the set and they all looked better than she did. There was one to do the stunts, one to ride the motorcycle, one to model her hands, and of course one to think for her. Why did they even hire her?

I didn't like that she called Jessica Simpson a "whore" for wearing a T-shirt that read, "Real Women Eat Meat." If one chooses not to eat meat, they don't have to throw blood on people who do. (Anyway can she really speak, when we all know about that sex tape. I don't think she has anything to say about eating meat.)

"- yes, it had its deep side (specially the dialogues), but it was a bit violent to me..."

    Totally violent, I know.

I don't know by just appearing in skimpy outfits, how can one look more beautiful..." - you brought in a great point, my friend!! Yes, beauty pageants are another dreadful display of female ridicule *nodding*! I don't comprehend either, Kalyan...

"but in every part of the world this ridiculousness has spread like anything and its true it has a huge negative impact on the youth and tend to believe in a make believe world and when they realise the truth its just oo late..." - I totally hear you!

"I will do hope a common sense prevails at large and this obscene display stop at the earliest...Nice writing!" - Hear! Hear! Thanks, Kalyan :D!

My friend, I mus thank you for not only a brilliant comment, but for adding an excellent point to this article *bowing*! Thanks!

    Cheers

  30. Hey Brenda! :D

    "Interesting topic and comments here!"

    "... but I'm seeing it in a different way, I guess." - please, let's hear it.... :D

"The over-inflated breasts which nearly pop out of low-cut blouses, for instance, don't seem sexy to me ... because I see a woman who is screaming "I don't like my body, not the one I was given, anyway. I'm not good enough."" - they don't seem sexy to you, because they are not, my friend! I agree with your viewpoint!

"All the botox says "I'm afraid of aging ... and I'll go to extreme lengths to deny that I am growing older."" - Hear! Hear!

"All the young "stars" acting out sexually? Well, children act out when they're wounded, when something's wrong in their worlds." - absolutely!

"Yet it seems to be contagious! So I wonder if any woman or woman/child in the western world loves herself as she is, or respects her sexuality." - that is another excellent point! I don't think they do love themselves, understand their sexuality and respect their body & sensuality...it's sad.

"Then, if I look around the world, I see another extreme ... where the female body and face is literally hidden away under burqas to insure modesty ... and where the rules regarding sex (and the sexes) are very unbalanced and rigid. I don't see either extreme as healthy." - well, I do not agree with any form of extreme; and what you have described here, makes me say only one thing: I agree with you.

"I think both types of women are walking around in human-made prisons. Both are suffering somehow. And, to me, this seems needless." - again, I agree.

"Provide societies where a woman is brought up to believe her body and sexuality are good and beautiful just as God created them, and that they are gifts to be respected, appreciated ... in that situation, it seems to me, that morality (directly from within) is a natural outcome." - *clap clap clap* Yes! Yes!

Brenda, thank you so much for this superb comment! It was a true pleasure to read your thoughts on this, thanks :D!

    Cheers

  31. Hi Alexys!

"Ha ha. I can believe it, but I think THEY were the aliens, not you. You're an angel my dear. :D" - lol I agree, they were the aliens lol! Oh, thank you, darling *bowing*! I have a secret to share...I am one, you know LOL! ;D

"Of course, we are the superior race. Shhhhh, don't tell your husband to be." - LOL LOL LOL Shhhh, it will be our secret! lol...

"Aw, how sticky sweet. Thanks. Are you trying to butter me up for something? " - LOL LOL LOL you're welcome; and no, I can assure you that I am not! LOL...

"My friend was on the film set when she was filming that camp classic called, Barbed Wire. According to him, she had 16 body doubles on the set and they all looked better than she did. There was one to do the stunts, one to ride the motorcycle, one to model her hands, and of course one to think for her. Why did they even hire her?" - LOL "one to think for her" LOL LOL! That movie was terrible - if the stunts were intelligent they wouldn't want their name to be the star of such garbage; so they hired good old Pam....

"I didn't like that she called Jessica Simpson a "whore" for wearing a T-shirt that read, "Real Women Eat Meat." If one chooses not to eat meat, they don't have to throw blood on people who do. (Anyway can she really speak, when we all know about that sex tape. I don't think she has anything to say about eating meat.)" - ROFL, I hear you....*nodding*! You are right, if one doesn't eat meat it's their personal choice, but don't go around telling others not to. It's like the ones who insult those who wear fur...please. People, meat was created for us to eat, and fur was created to be worn...thank you very much.

"Naomi Campbell - Anger Management." - LOL LOL LOL I subscribe to that!

"Ha ha. "she stylishly removes it..." Ha ha. Max, you are a class act." - LOL thanks *bowing*! I do try LOL!

"Whoo hoo! Thanks. You know we are going to rock it out!" - *high five*!

    Rock it out Cheers!

MERRY WEEKEND TO YOU TOO!! :D

  34. Hi! I must be the poor cousin here, as I only have access to four channels. Mind you, I do know what you mean but let’s face it, sex and bad antics sells.

As for who is sexy and who is not, it obviously depends on the viewer and what they have been exposed to in the past.

The change in censorship has allowed this form of titillation that you speak of to be shown in all forms of the media.

Why the change? It is usually the result of peoples changing perception of what is acceptable and what is not. If people are offended by what they see, they have to option to opt out as they say.

Some celebrities go to extraordinary lengths to stay at the top. It really is a cutthroat business they’re in and like they say, “When you’re hot. You’re hot, when you’re not, you’re not”, so they see it as a way of preventing, “exit stage left”.

The other thing that helps certain people stay at the top is the availability of surgical procedures to enhance body parts.

Sometime ago, it was the wonder bra; now we have implants. For some, they might as well put in a zipper for the next time they change their minds and body.

As for bad behaviour and foul language in public, certain celebrities only have themselves and their medications to blame for that. It’s a shame they see it as a way of selling themselves.

Detox clinics and community service may help them overcome that rage but going on their multiple admissions and lack of real friends, they appear to have learnt very little from their mistakes.

Every era has resorted to bad boy antics of varying degrees. It’s just that this era appears to be getting totally out of hand.

The severe repercussions are not only affecting themselves, but their families and the paying customer.

Will the next era be any different? You can bet your bottom dollar they will be.

    Take Care,
    Peter

  35. Max, I could not agree with you MORE! With all the world's religions becoming more and more obsessive about values and society-at-large about the more superficial "political-correctness," we are letting ourselves de-volve at a rapid pace.

What has happened to a love of integrity, decency, uprightness? Are we so immature as to let ourselves and our children perceive only the extreme, debased, and mutilated images of womankind as "cool"?

Perhaps our alienation from the natural beauty of womanhood/the feminine principle and indeed from humanity in general, parallels our estrangement from both nature and ourselves. Pathetic.

A wonderful post, my friend. I think you spoke for many of us. xxxx

  36. This is a great post Max and I could not agree with you more!

This is the ultimate example of commercialism and how human (often woman's) body are monetised. Its an industrial driven path out of what is natrual and into what is 'perfect'. I hate it when I sea this 'makeover' programs. They are not interested in how they look, only in how to make money out of peoples bad conscience.

Only we can stop this by protest it and your post is a great reminder!

Btw: Your on my blogroll now - should have been a long time ago :-)

  37. Hi Peter! :D

"I must be the poor cousin here, as I only have access to four channels." - my friend, are those four channels good? Cause if the Portuguese basic four channels were any good, I would have stuck to them...cable is not all that either *nodding*! I wish I could only subscribe to news networks.

"Mind you, I do know what you mean but let’s face it, sex and bad antics sells." - LOL true!

"As for who is sexy and who is not, it obviously depends on the viewer and what they have been exposed to in the past." - this is a good point...

"The change in censorship has allowed this form of titillation that you speak of to be shown in all forms of the media." - yes, excesses originate other forms of excesses...

"If people are offended by what they see, they have to option to opt out as they say." - and when it goes out to the streets? Should one stay at home forever?

"Sometime ago, it was the wonder bra; now we have implants. For some, they might as well put in a zipper for the next time they change their minds and body." - LOL LOL LOL LOL I hear you, Pete!

"It’s a shame they see it as a way of selling themselves." - my friend, I totally hear you!

"Detox clinics and community service may help them overcome that rage but going on their multiple admissions and lack of real friends, they appear to have learnt very little from their mistakes." - very good assessment. I guess it may be tough to have real friends when you are surrounded by a twisted sense of reality, greed, selfishness, vanity and shallowness...

"It’s just that this era appears to be getting totally out of hand." - indeed...

"The severe repercussions are not only affecting themselves, but their families and the paying customer." - Hear! Hear!

"Will the next era be any different? You can bet your bottom dollar they will be." - Peter, your positiveness is moving; my friend! All I can is: from your mouth to God's ears! :D

My dear, dear, friend; thank you so much for this incredible wise input! I have grown accustomed to your weekly wisdom *bowing*!

    Cheers

  38. Hey Lynda! :D

"With all the world's religions becoming more and more obsessive about values and society-at-large about the more superficial "political-correctness," we are letting ourselves de-volve at a rapid pace." - well put!

"What has happened to a love of integrity, decency, uprightness? Are we so immature as to let ourselves and our children perceive only the extreme, debased, and mutilated images of womankind as "cool"?" - two extremely important questions! I think that our society has become vain with its own development (we have reached high level of development; no more we need to toil to eat or to dress, so now instead of helping others to develop themselves we yield to vanity, shallowness and disrespect *nodding*).

"Perhaps our alienation from the natural beauty of womanhood/the feminine principle and indeed from humanity in general, parallels our estrangement from both nature and ourselves. Pathetic." - I subscribe to your words, my friend...pathetic indeed! Womanhood is going through a crisis and the ones to blame are women who accept to perpetuate female disrespect.

"A wonderful post, my friend. I think you spoke for many of us. xxx" - thank you, darling :D! I just needed to voice my state of shock! I am not going back to that channel so soon, I can tell you that lol.

  40. great post max! it surprises me how people have changed the definition of sexy. men are losing taste, we're regressing to the stone age wherein sexiness is defined by hormones, lol.
    that's according to my hubby.

cheers max. hope you have a good one too ;)

  41. First, Oswegan cheats.

Max, max, max, this is the way of the world. Like it or not E TV, like most other TV shows are rating based. The darker side of the human experience is what sells:
    1. The male's baser side, which all us males have, no matter how much we claim that we don't. The only differentiator is whether we act upon it or not.
    2. The female envy gene. Admit it, even you have it....however, your "class" comes from the realization that it is a negative attitude that you choose to suppress, to your credit.
    3. The gossip factor that both men and women have.

You put all of this together and you have a sure fire ratings bonanza.

Our choice is not to watch it. I hope that your foray into the "dark" side has not scathed you too bad and that you will recover.

  43. Hey Mel,

"First, Oswegan cheats." - LOL LOL well...I think his intention was to make us laugh lol...

"Max, max, max, this is the way of the world." - perhaps, but it is a decadent way of the world, my friend.

    "E TV," - *spit*

"The darker side of the human experience is what sells:" - I can see that...and it is an embarrassment for the human intellect!

"1. The male's baser side, which all us males have, no matter how much we claim that we don't. The only differentiator is whether we act upon it or not." - well, I am female and I say that not all men have a baser side (I frankly defend that there are men of high intellect and that do not yield to the baser side of their existence).

"2. The female envy gene. Admit it, even you have it....however, your "class" comes from the realization that it is a negative attitude that you choose to suppress, to your credit." - LOL LOL "female envy gene" nasty LOL. Well, Mel...I ignore that gene in me (therefore I can't admit that I have it) however if I do, like you said, I choose to supress it.

"3. The gossip factor that both men and women have." - LOL you must be one of the few men who admit to this. Usually people say that women hold the gossip factor, when I know men who are far worse than women lol.

"You put all of this together and you have a sure fire ratings bonanza." - distasteful!

"Our choice is not to watch it. I hope that your foray into the "dark" side has not scathed you too bad and that you will recover" - I hear you, my friend! LOL no, it didn't scathed me too bad...I strongly believe that I am recovering well lol ;D!

Mel, thank you so much for this amazing, awesome, fantastic comment of yours *bowing*! I love reading your thoughts, buddy :D!

You see, everything is a choice and it is our choices that define us.

    I LOVE OUR CONVERSATIONS!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hey Mel,

LOL LOL no, don't be shocked...when I spit I do it with style: it's a dry spit, just the sound...not the saliva-express (a form of showing my disaproval) lol!
I can guarantee you that the dark side wants nothing to do with me *nodding*...

"You see, everything is a choice and it is our choices that define us." - I would say that it is our reactions to the choices we make that define us (be it either good or bad choices; how we deal with its consequences is how it defines a person)!

Mel, are you kidding me? I ADORE our conversations!!!

    ReplyDelete

  48. You forgot one on that list: Looking extremely anorexic to the point of being considered malnourished (LOL). 50. Hello Maximus….

    You said:
"Why would anybody want to be “sexy”? It is simply a synonym for “trashy”, “slutty” or “easy” all things anybody can do…..even the ugliest of us…." - by the quotation marks I gather you mean "sexy as in the notion of women haters"...then the answer is: beats me! LOL LOL "even the ugliest of us" LOL *nodding*. But yes, you are right...to these people being sexy is indeed being trashy, slutty, easy...

    I respond:
“Sexy” it seems is people buying into thoughts packaged as “sexually alluring” but lacking the sophistication to understand the core concept and suffering from a “coriolis effect” of sorts…

    You said:
"However I recognize that in our society many young women want to be “sexy” which guys outwardly call “sexy” but among themselves and in their heads declare by the other words I mentioned, understand I don’t say these things in judgment but simply as the simple truth…" - I know what you mean...and I subscribe your words...
"Freedom should never be mistaken for anarchy…" - Amen to that, brother!

    I respond:
    Oh my same page…..

    You said:
"I don’t think it has changed since the Fruit in the Garden…Human nature is blurred, cracked, dishevelled, broken, Fallen…" - whoa, be gentle to us LOL LOL...please....LOL...

    I respond:
LOL LOL That was gentle but not “sexy”…..

    You said:
"the only reason we survive is because of the image God being impressed upon us (which is there if we can cut thru the smoke and mirrors) and His care…" - *clap clap clap*...beautiful.

    I respond:
    *bowing* :)

    You said:
"Are there times when the influences of our depraved Fallenness is displayed more prominently? Yes. Sometimes in the kinds of things you allude to, other times in how we do not love our neighbour or our enemies, it can be displayed prominently in many ways…including with religion…" - yes, when we don't love our neighbour we are being as vulgar as the trashy people out there. Oh religion...that is a topic for another article...

    I respond:
I think it goes well beyond vulgar…and I think you agree…I look forward to seeing how you would tackle this from a religious point of view…

    You said:
"Sexy….“trampy” is easy…anybody can do it so it is a successful way to market…" - when I use Sexy I mean that it turns our sexual sign on; when I say "sexy"...my sexual signs go definitely out LOL. "Trampy" as you say, can be done by anyone; but Sexy can only be done by a few.

    I respond:
I see sexy as very different from sensual or seductive they are different in quality and sophistication.

    You said:

    I respond:
LOL Lady and the Tramp like the Disney movie with the dogs? The world has many of easy street sexy but few of brilliant classy and elegant world changer ladies…

    You said:
"Udder folly….get it udder….???" - ROFL...I get it, of course...brilliant pun LOL LOL you kill me LOL LOL *nodding*!

    I respond:
I like it when now and then when my lines are well spun with a pun…

    You said:
"Nothing wrong with a slender waist, besides so many guys have bellies…" - I don't think bulging is a good option for men; it may interfere with their sexual performance...

    I respond:
LOL LOL Good thing you are getting married off… LOL ROFL

    You said:
"No doubt modesty is far preferable…" - LS, we don't agree most of the times, but this is one of those rare times when I must say...I utterly agree with you!

    I respond:
LOL LOL We don’t agree most of the time? Whoops…yes we don’t agree most of the time nice change eh? I think we have a lot of similarities on moral issues but differ on the “Solution”….

    You said/I said:
"Oh that is so attractive!!! Not being able to pass passport control is so hot!!! LOL" - LOL LOL LOL LOL...*nodding*...

    I respond:
Didn’t Paris Hilton copy write “so hot”? I hope I didn’t violate copy write there… LOL No I guess it was “that’s hot”….oh there I go again…

    You said:
"Did you say stun gun….?" - LOL no, not just yet...RR LOL...

    I respond:
ROFL Watch it he reads your blog….he likes the way you push religion just not the flavor….

    You said:
"We would not want to sound intelligent would we?" - LOL LOL indeed *tears in eyes of so much laughter* you are unbeatable today!
"The rapid growth in public prominence of guttural language has largely been gifted to us by rap…." - "guttural language" LOL classy! Oh please, I listen to rap and I do not make use of "guttural language" in my day by day communication; people who are prone to vulgarity use/used rap as an excuse to utter verbal trash...

    I respond:
    Yes dear….
    :)

    You said:
"I remember when the feminist movement was against prostitution, strippers, and the sexualizing of women, now all the feminists support this…“you got it you flaunt it”." - HA! Don't even get me started on the feminist movement...if women are disrespected today is because this movement's role was not properly played. In the past women were not heard (some cultures dispute this), they didn't vote...but then the suffragists took care of that; then women were still not heard (this can be disputed in some cultures), they didn't have free sexuality...the feminists promised to take care of that.

    I respond:
Yes….of course their major contribution is promotion of abortion, women where “weak” in society now they are empowered and the promotion of murdering the weakest is their “crowning achievement”…

    You said:
"We are in a state of hyper-bread-and-circuses, however as the bread is becoming a problem it will be very interesting to watch the circuses, I believe the “have nots” will become rather incensed by the “haves” (ala Tale of Two Cities). Then the pendulum will swing back…" - the bread is definitely becoming a problem...is it such a problem that the press went nuts and began criticising the dinner of the G8 in Japan *nodding*. I agree with you: the pendulum will swing back...it will be interesting to watch.

    I respond:
It is interesting watching how cultures swing the pendulum it is similar and dissimilar to how individuals do this…

    You said:
"I recently had an opportunity to talk to a woman a few years older than myself that was speaking glowingly about the free sex of the 60’s and how it has changed today with all the disease, what was interesting was how she had no association between the two, the catalyst and the consequences…Cause and effect…or cause and DEfect" - cause and defect, without a doubt. That is what I have learned too, the former hippies (or hippie associated) do not realise that it all started with them; on the other hand they were the product of excessive moralism; and we know the result of excesses: antithetical excesses!

    I respond:
I agree with your thoughts on “excessive moralism” but I will move one stage further back in history WW2 damaged societies and then the pendulum swung the other way…

    You said:
"Interesting insights into your personal character….I see know way of changing this kind of thing (in a real way) with rules, religion or morality" - I never said that rules, religion or morality were the key to change. It must come from within each of us...

    I respond:
I was just thinking out loud or giving you some bait… LOL

    You said:
    "…people need a personal transformation…" - we agree.

    I respond:
    There we go again… LOL
    You said:
"of course the pendulum will swing the other way for some parts of society as the grave consequences of such actions become apparent but it will again swing back to the dominant extolling of sin…under the guise of freedom which is really slavery…" - indeed, even if it changes, history has proven that it will, at some point, go back to this devious excesses...humans are decadent, and history keeps repeating itself.

    I respond:
It seems the pendulum is preparing a for a HUGWE swing…

    You said:
"By the way things will gets worse…." - don't say that...if you wish I can even pray with you...

    I respond:
LOL Things will eventually get worse, it is inevitable. The writing is on the wall and in the Word…

    You said:
"Would you say the image you selected is a personification of what you prefer? (Another great piece of art as usual Princess of the Wondrous Art Eyes…)" - yes, the image selected is personification of class, style, modesty, elegance...which is exactly what I prefer. Why, thank you, Prince of the Blade *bowing*!

    I respond:
Ohhhh Prince of the Blade….. Oooohhh ahhhh LOL

Maximus it was a great article and interesting comment as usual….

  51. Hello LSus!

"“Sexy” it seems is people buying into thoughts packaged as “sexually alluring” but lacking the sophistication to understand the core concept and suffering from a “coriolis effect” of sorts…" - yes, indeed people's view of being "Sexy" can be compared to the "coriolis effect" (being sexy is one thing, going in a straight line, and people see as curving to the wrong definition...). Sophistication is an important ingredient in anybody's life; too bad that "bad life cooks" choose not to use it *nodding*.

"Oh my same page….." - shocking, isn't it? LOL

"LOL LOL That was gentle but not “sexy”…." - LOL nor gentle nor sexy, if you ask me LOL...however, this shows that you were within the spirit of the article, cause vulgarity isn't gentle nor sexy.

"I think it goes well beyond vulgar…and I think you agree…I look forward to seeing how you would tackle this from a religious point of view…" - I do agree (as surprising as that may be). Is that a request for an article, my friend :)?

"I see sexy as very different from sensual or seductive they are different in quality and sophistication." - but sensual and seductive can be extremely sophisticated and of high quality. The thing is, not many achieve it...*nodding*. But hey, what do I know? You are the one who has good credentials when it comes to sex LOL...

"LOL Lady and the Tramp like the Disney movie with the dogs? The world has many of easy street sexy but few of brilliant classy and elegant world changer ladies…" - oh God...I hated that movie *nodding*. Wow...I am impressed, LS...
