Sex, it depends...

Lysistrata: There are a lot of things
About us women that sadden me,
Considering how men see us as rascals.
Calonice: As indeed we are!

Aristophanes suggested in one of his plays, Lysistrata (411 BC), that women should withhold sex as a mean to force men to end the Peloponnesian War.

Here we are in 2009, and Kenyan women have followed Aristophanes' advice: they have withheld sex to protest “their country’s bickering leadership”. Just like Lysistrata called upon all Greek women to go on sex-strike; a women’s activist group called upon all Kenyan women (including the Premier's and President's wives) to boycott sex until the principal leaders would sit down, talk and get their act together. The women are sick and tired of the political instability that stormed through their country (which already sickled more than 10,000 lives in 2008) and want their politicians to focus on the country's welfare and security rather than on their personal ego and tribal issues. After all, they are concerned with their children's future.

The women used sex-withholding to get their message across and...It worked. At the end of 7 days President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga met, and began to set up political reforms.
In Aristophanes' work, Lysistrata and the women won...and in real life so did the Kenyan women.

In Lysistrata, after a certain amount of time women began to get desperate for sex and so they started to desert; however their leader restored discipline upon her comrades and so the fight went on.
I wonder what would have happened if the Kenyan men would have managed to get by without sex for more than week...would the Kenyan women have started to desert as well?

This issue raises a few questions: is sex more important to men than to women? Can women take the Sex-Fast longer than men? Are men more sexual than women? Is sex the solution for women to solve political issues? Let’s try to answer them...

Is Sex more important to men than to women? In my opinion, sex is important to both genders. They both have sexual desires, they both get the fever from times to times, they both enjoy copulating, and they both aim at the orgasmic final.

Can women take the Sex-Fast longer than men? There are men who take the Sex-Fast longer than women; and then there are men and women who can handle it just fine (through a lot of meditation and physical exercise; or simply because they have no sexual appetite at all). So, again...it is not a question of gender; it is either a question of mental strength or pre-disposition for sex (or lack of it).

Are men more sexual than women? Society has brain-washed us into thinking exactly that; but it is simply not true. Women are as sexual as men; only women were taught that it is not nice to express their sexual urges unless they fancy being called tarts: rubbish. It is not in the best interest of society to have a bunch of castrated, repressed, women walking around: these are as dangerous as serial-killers.

Is sex the solution for women to solve political issues? Well, it depends on who is running the country. You see, in Lysistrata it is assumed that all Greek men were heterosexual and desperate for sex, hence the women’s plot worked.

Nowadays, we should not assume that all men are heterosexual (even those who are married), so if activist groups were to call upon women to go on a sex-strike, this would work on heterosexuals and sapphics, but would not work on homosexual political leaders (who, if married to women, would even be grateful if they’d leave them alone); therefore activist groups would have to call upon everybody to go on a sex-strike. Would this work? In a free society, perhaps; in countries where political leaders (only now) have perceived that women use sex as a tool for manipulation and so are considering to pass bills that allow men to rape their wives in case they do not feel like having sex, I guess it would never work.

So, why did it work in Kenya? It worked because Kenya is like the Greece depicted in Lysistrata: it is assumed that all men are heterosexual; and if someone comes out of the closet...it is shot dead.

«A Kenyan man has sued activists who called on women to boycott sex to protest the growing divide in the nation's coalition government. James Kimondo said the seven-day sex ban, which ended this week, resulted in stress, mental anguish, backaches and lack of sleep, his lawyer told the state-run Kenya Broadcasting Corp.» (source: CNN)

"I kind of wonder if the frustration they would feel because of abstinence would make them more aggressive in war!"

That is an excellent point: it is said that abstinence does make them more aggressive; but apparently in Kenya is causes backaches and mental anguish LOL *nodding*.
I know that sportsmen cannot have sex before matches because it weakens them or something...but it makes sense.

D, thank you so much for your comment, I loved it :D!

  3. Hi Max,

    Happy Maxday.

Another juicy topic for us today.

I love the juxtaposition of Aristophanes and the Kenyans. You've gone back to a classic and updated it. Men have been accusing women of "withholding" for years, it's funny how it has come back to haunt them (the men.)

"Just like Lysistrata called upon all Greek women to go on sex-strike; a women’s activist group called upon all Kenyan women (including the Premier's and President's wives) to boycott sex until the principal leaders would sit down, talk and get their act together."

I would be curious to know the ad campaign for this. Was it advertised? Word of mouth? I can see the adverts now. (Imagining the pictures). Brilliant strategy.

"The women are sick and tired of the political instability that stormed through their country (which already sickled more than 10,000 lives in 2008) and want their politicians to focus on the country's welfare and security rather than on their personal ego and tribal issues. After all, they are concerned with their children's future."

Kidding aside, this is a major issue. If you can't secure a future for the children, what chance are they going to have? How will they learn to live? To fight? To dream? To hope?

"The women used sex-withholding to get their message across and...It worked. At the end of 7 days President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga met, and began to set up political reforms."

It took THAT long? I didn't think they would last an hour.

"In Lysistrata, after a certain amount of time women began to get desperate for sex and so they started to desert; however their leader restored discipline upon her comrades and so the fight went on."

I object. Aristophanes was biased. I think the men would desert faster than women.

"Is Sex more important to men than to women? In my opinion, sex is important to both genders. They both have sexual desires, they both get the fever from times to times, they both enjoy copulating, and they both aim at the orgasmic final."

Agreed. It's just more acceptable when men admit to it than women. (The Madonna/Whore Syndrome).

"Can women take the Sex-Fast longer than men?"

Like you suggest, it depends on the person. I knew a woman who was preoccupied with it. She couldn't even work because of this preoccupation. I knew a man was was also preoccupied with it, but he loved working because he could find his next 'partner.' Ironically, I introduced these two to each other. They hit it off for one night. He went on to his next 'partner' and she still thinks of him today (several years later). (She probably blames me for introducing them.)

"Are men more sexual than women?"

I heard a quote once. "Lust for lust's sake is vapid. Lust with love is all anyone wants." [paraphrased] In other words, if you are committed to the person, you can enjoy each other without the labels that society places on us.

"Is sex the solution for women to solve political issues?"

I don't know if it would work, but it's just funny thinking about it.

"A Kenyan man has sued activists who called on women to boycott sex to protest the growing divide in the nation's coalition government. James Kimondo said the seven-day sex ban, which ended this week, resulted in stress, mental anguish, backaches and lack of sleep, his lawyer told the state-run Kenya Broadcasting Corp.» (source: CNN)"

Typical. Men can't take it when women are on top (tongue-in-cheek)! What about the stress on the women hiding from the men and the lack of sleep not knowing if they would be jumped.....

Max, thanks for a great debate. Was it good for you?

    Men/Women Harmony Cheers.

  6. Hello Max,

Those Kenyan women are experts in the P.R. business.

On the first question: sex is important, period. The difference is what each gender takes of it.

Second question: it depends on the motive, purpose and intention. Women are known for being more focused, determined and obstinated; so draw your conclusions.

Third question: Women are usually more open-minded about sex, because for women the only rule in sex is no rules (i.e. if you like it, full speed; if you don't like it, do not engage). Maybe women are more comfortable with their own bodies, they are more concentraded in enjoying sex rather than scoring or making a point about it.

Fourth question: probably not for is one of the many political issues as well.

The guy that sued the activist group responsible for such an endeavour should be granted victory: the poor champ is a mess LOL LOL....

  7. Max:

Well...on this one, I have to agree with you on all points. Unbelievable.

In general, however, I think that male and female sex needs are based on different internal criteria. For instance, men can avoid sex for prolonged periods: priests, seaman, adventurers, to name a few. But the mechanisms they use to thwart their desire may be not be the same things that women use. Men, I think, are more visual. We have a tendency to pick up on visual cues that arouse us. Pretty women, skirts blowing up, pictures, movies, etc. Totally visual. Surface stuff. So when we have to do without sex, we restrict our exposure to visual cues. Of course, that only works for so long. Once we are exposed, it all starts over again.

Women, I think, may be moved more by chemistry and tactile stimulation. Masculinity stimulates her physiological response. The way men act, talk, and conduct their daily activities. A feeling of safeness and comfort in the presence of a male. Of course, it has to be the right male. Each woman is unique. I think women are also more tactile. They love to be touched gently, caring, with kindness. Things are more personal with a women. This makes since, because for a woman the sex act is invasive.

Then there is the all important X-factor. This applies to both sexes. If the X-factor isn't present, then friendly two-way copulation is unlikely. So what is the X-factor. Well, the only way I can describe it is to say that no matter how old we get, every once in a while we come across someone who excites us sexually. Bingo. You know it when you feel it. That's the mysterious X-factor. It's kind of like nuclear energy in that it's a mixed blessing. It's power holds the promise of both life...and death.

So my advice to anyone contemplating using sex as a tool of coercion: proceed with extreme caution.

    Another "stimulating" post.

Max, thank you for the kind review on BC.

    Happy trails.

  8. Very interesting material, Max.

My comment is short: contrary to what has been said, money is not the power; sex is.
Through sex we continue the human species; by suggesting his soldiers to bond between them, Hitler was able to fight a war for so long; men in power (or high positions) if they don't have any sort of sex they feel handicapped; the sex industry generates a lot of billion dollars per annum; sex has been used to know secrets and, sometimes it changed the course of history.

My dear, sex is the real deal.

  9. Since the beginning of time, sex has been used as leveraging tool. It continues today.

In my opinion, sex is one of the basic needs, just like food, water and shelter. Just like food, water and shelter there are physical, emotional and psychological aspects to sex. Anytime a basic need goes awry, life is not good. Bad water sometimes is better than no water, but there are consequences. Same with bad sex (or inappropriate sex), there are consequences.

So ladies... with hold and use the power... personally, I am not strong enough! LOL

"Those Kenyan women are experts in the P.R. business."

    LOL yes, indeed.

"On the first question: sex is important, period. The difference is what each gender takes of it."

    I hear you...

"Second question: it depends on the motive, purpose and intention. Women are known for being more focused, determined and obstinated; so draw your conclusions."

Man, do you love women or do you love women? That is one hell of a compliment; cause I know many women who are not focused, nor determined nor obstinated; however, I'm catching your drift.

"Third question: Women are usually more open-minded about sex, because for women the only rule in sex is no rules (i.e. if you like it, full speed; if you don't like it, do not engage)."

Hmmm...it depends on the type of woman (and on her up-bringing). There are women who are not at all open-minded about sex, and have a lot of taboos about it (and I am talking about women in their 20's and 30's - it sounds odd, but it happens).

"Maybe women are more comfortable with their own bodies, they are more concentraded in enjoying sex rather than scoring or making a point about it."

Again, it depends. There are women who are very shy about their bodies. You have those that don't even undress in front of other women...hell, they don't even undress in front of their own mothers...*nodding*. And then, there are women who do have sex in order to score or simply to make a point about it.
In order to truly enjoy sex, one must be taboo-free and have a deep knowledge of how her body works and responds (to touch, for example).

"Fourth question: probably not for is one of the many political issues as well."

    I agree.

"The guy that sued the activist group responsible for such an endeavour should be granted victory: the poor champ is a mess LOL LOL...."

"Well...on this one, I have to agree with you on all points. Unbelievable."

LOL it is unbelievable; we should celebrate LOL :D!

"In general, however, I think that male and female sex needs are based on different internal criteria. For instance, men can avoid sex for prolonged periods: priests, seaman, adventurers, to name a few."

    True.

"But the mechanisms they use to thwart their desire may be not be the same things that women use."

    Also true.

"Men, I think, are more visual. We have a tendency to pick up on visual cues that arouse us. Pretty women, skirts blowing up, pictures, movies, etc. Totally visual. Surface stuff. So when we have to do without sex, we restrict our exposure to visual cues. Of course, that only works for so long. Once we are exposed, it all starts over again."

LOL I know what you mean. Swu, this is an excellent analysis!
Let's see your thoughts on women...

"Women, I think, may be moved more by chemistry and tactile stimulation. This makes since, because for a woman the sex act is invasive."

Hmm...very interesting analysis, it makes sense. However, I wonder if this is really true or we were programmed into thinking this is true (like, when scientists do their studies on this: the women they inquire, are they telling the truth about their sexual urges or are they concealing them [afraid of being judged by the scientist]?).
As a woman who knows many women I'd say that women can be very visual as well (we can look at a man, his buttocks, his legs, his arms and get aroused) however like you said many do worry about security and comfort, but only in a later stage (in case they decide to proceed with a relationship; because if they don't wish to engage in a long lasting-relationship with a guy they couldn't care less about the way they walk, talk or conduct their daily activities...know what I mean?).
Interesting the part where you say that "the sex is invasive" for a woman...I don't see sex as such; but then again women are not the same.

"Then there is the all important X-factor. That is correct :D. I comprehend well what you mean, Swu *nodding in utter agreement*.

  19. Max:

I agree with your comment about the women's answers to questions relating to their sexual response. Maybe they aren't completely truthful. Totally understandable. We all have our secrets. It reminds me of something my psych professor in college once said about bisexuals. He said bisexuals are extremely difficult to interview about their sexuality. Because to get the truth out of them you must interview them when they are in a bisexual mood. Otherwise, they're heterosexuals! Now you must understand that I went to college a long time ago. People may be more open now days.

    Happy trails to you...

  20. Max,

Another VERY interesting topic. It really gets to me when a woman withholds sex in order to manipulate their husbands, boyfriends, etc. Sex should be given freely when it is part and parcel of a deep love for your partner. If there is anger, disappointment, or other feelings that diminish that love then sex, like love, should not be given.

Giving of once body is not a right it is an expression.

So much for theory. In reality, men are weak and easily manipulated. Who ever said that women are the weaker sex DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Is Sex more important to men than to women?

As most men have a wham bam thank you ma'am rollover and go to sleep attitude about sex, this in itself shows their total disregard to upholding the importance of sex. Sex for the sake of self-gratification is just masturbation. Women on the other hand truly know the importance of sex, as they’re longing for love making over many hours shows how much they value the importance of sex.

Can women take the Sex-Fast longer than men?

Only if it’s a means to an end, as you have rightly pointed out in this post. I would imagine that pre-child birth woman would have a problem with it and as for post-child birth they may see sex-fasts as a blessing in disguise.

Are men more sexual than women?

Only when they feel like it and once the urge is satisfied it could take a month of Sundays to get them back on track.

Is sex the solution for women to solve political issues?

If only it was then perhaps the world could be free of conflict and bloodshed.

    Take Care,
    Peter

  22. Well asked and well answered, Max. I wonder if many of the turns human history has taken, could be a result of either sex and sex-drive, or the lack of it. Of course it would be difficult to study in retrospect, even if the necessary resources and intellect were allocated to it.

You know the old maxim: Sex makes the world go 'round. I think we're lucky that in many cases, the sublimation of the sex drive in men and women has resulted in some pretty amazing creativity and innovation. Although of course, making love is preferable to making war.

I love your use of the word "sickled," above.

These are interesting questions you bring up and articulate so well, Max!

  23. Hey Gato Cid :D!

"Oh Goddess!!! I always say that women are more powerful than men because they can! You know how to manipulate men, you could rule the world! It's good that women don't think about it... We, men of the world, would be screwed for a lifetime! :o)"

Someone told me, recently, that women are quite manipulative: I was not shocked at this...I admit.
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL that was funny LOL...

"Max, another top ten list online. I know you're gonna like it!!!"

Really? I am on my way (after finishing up here) :D!!

"And thank you for the nomination!!!"

You are welcome, gato...you know you deserve it :D!

Cidão, thanks for your comment, I adored it! :D

  24. Hi Lady A,

    "^5!"

    ^5!

"It's as if they don't care. They think the biggest ego wins."

    Exactly.

    "LOL."

    LOL LOL....

"Yippee! Yes Ludacris updated the notion."

    LOL...indeed, he did.

"They would both call me and tell me to tell the other blah blah blah..."

    Really? Like in high school?

"ROFL...ROFL...ROFL...It must be very hard. ROFL...ROFL...ROFL...."

    ROFL ROFL ROFL...

"Men are just not built the same way. Conversely, if men had a Cash-fast then women would definitely feel it. No more Manolo Blahnik or Christian Louboutin shoes."

They are not. ROFL ROFL Cash-Fast ROFL ROFL...well, not all of them. ROFL ROFL ROFL you kill me LOL...

"ROFL. ROFL. ROFL. TIEL. (Tears In Eyes Laughing) I wasn't going to say this, but since you inspired me to say it then I must say it. Did the earth move? (What if a person doesn't smoke, what do they use - a carrot?) Ironically playing on the radio now is "No Woman, No Cry". How appropriate."

TIEL...TIEL...the earth moved and the volcano ejected its lava...thanks, darling *puffing a carrot*.

  25. Swu,

"Totally understandable. We all have our secrets. "

It is understandable. And our privacy.

"It reminds me of something my psych professor in college once said about bisexuals. He said bisexuals are extremely difficult to interview about their sexuality. Because to get the truth out of them you must interview them when they are in a bisexual mood. Otherwise, they're heterosexuals!"

I read that exact theory somewhere...

"Now you must understand that I went to college a long time ago. People may be more open now days."

I have met some bisexuals who do not admit they are at first...they insist on saying they are heterosexuals but enjoy other ice-cream flavours...

    "Happy trails to you..."

Thanks, Swu...happy trails to you too :D!

  26. Hey Mel :D!

    "Another VERY interesting topic."

    Thank you *bowing*!

"It really gets to me when a woman withholds sex in order to manipulate their husbands, boyfriends, etc."

Sometimes men force women into it (as in the Kenyan case, for example), but other than that...I don't see why they should. And nowadays there are some men who do the same, it is sad.

"Sex should be given freely when it is part and parcel of a deep love for your partner."

    Amen to that!

"If there is anger, disappointment, or other feelings that diminish that love then sex, like love, should not be given."

How about those couples who are angry at each other, but then have sex to patch it up? Do you think in their minds they have had made peace and then love invades them and sex is done with all the positive sentiments it should be done with? Or are they having sex for the wrong reasons?

"Giving of once body is not a right it is an expression."

    This is beautiful!! :)

"So much for theory. In reality, men are weak and easily manipulated. Who ever said that women are the weaker sex DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE!!!!!"

ROFL ROFL ROFL....I wouldn't call men weak, I'd say they are cute as a bunny *smirk*. ROFL, nope...they don't have the slightest clue indeed LOL LOL....

Mel, outstanding comment: thank you ever so much :D!

  27. Hey Peter :D!

"[Is Sex more important to men than to women?] As most men have a wham bam thank you ma'am rollover and go to sleep attitude about sex, this in itself shows their total disregard to upholding the importance of sex."

LOL that is cold, mate..yet, so true in many cases.

"Sex for the sake of self-gratification is just masturbation."

    Absolutely!!

"Women on the other hand truly know the importance of sex, as they’re longing for love making over many hours shows how much they value the importance of sex."

    Most do, yes.

"[Can women take the Sex-Fast longer than men?"] Only if it’s a means to an end, as you have rightly pointed out in this post. I would imagine that pre-child birth woman would have a problem with it and as for post-child birth they may see sex-fasts as a blessing in disguise."

Excellent point! I have heard of women who after giving birth push their husbands away for a long long time (since they wish to focus on their baby/babies only).

"[Are men more sexual than women?] Only when they feel like it and once the urge is satisfied it could take a month of Sundays to get them back on track."

ROFL...oh my, I like the way you put these things....very good.

"[Is sex the solution for women to solve political issues?] If only it was then perhaps the world could be free of conflict and bloodshed."

    LOL I hear you, Peter!

Mate, this was one fine comment: thank you so so much :D!

Thank you, darling *bowing*! Some hold the theory that sex (or lack of it) had influenced the course of History, indeed. True, for almost no one wrote "King Charles lost his throne because of his sexual tastes" or "Banker Y invested heavily on X farm because he slept with a peasant girl there"...even though people know, there is not written proof (in many cases).

"You know the old maxim: Sex makes the world go 'round. I think we're lucky that in many cases, the sublimation of the sex drive in men and women has resulted in some pretty amazing creativity and innovation. Although of course, making love is preferable to making war."

LOL LOL I always sang that, but people corrected me to "money makes the world go 'round" LOL *nodding*. So true, Lynda...so true :)!
Making love is far more pleasurable than making war, however wars must be fought as well (as part of the duality peace/war).

"I love your use of the word "sickled," above."

Thank you for noticing :D! The way those 10,000 lives were taken in such a short period of time...all I saw was Death with a sickle in its hand *nodding*.

"These are interesting questions you bring up and articulate so well, Max!"

Thank you so much, Lynda *bowing*!

  30. I think the men have expressive and primary sex desire while the women's desire has to be evoked by external stimulii. Once, a woman is on fire, nothing can stop it but the fire in man is controllable.

  31. I actually like the idea of that sex-strike empowering woman. However, I do agree that the need or wants to have sex is not a matter of gender. The problem is that men are acting like hunters and some obviously think the can take what they get.

  33. Love the title of this post! :D

I think we are brainwashed by society. Men are not more sexual than woman... we just have different "schedules". I believe women are aware of their sexuality maybe a bit earlier than man, early teens. By aware of their sexuality, I mean they notice they are changing, notice that they can be attractive and not just "cute" etc. Medias don't really stress on that.

However, it is stressed that men after 16 or 17 are just looking for sex, would do it constantly etc. Er... I don't think so. Sure, some probably go through that phase, but that's just what it is: a phase, encouraged and popularized by the so-called "teen movies".

I think the truth is in the middle... both gender enjoy sex (at least I hope!) and both have a role to play. That's it!

  34. Wow, this post has it all, history, which I love and SEX, which I also love, lol.

Now for me and most of the guys I hang with would say sex is more important to their functioning, (less backaches and lack of sleep, lol) then women.

Reading over the comments most have say the 2 genders require it equally, I disagree, maybe it is the way males are brought up, or God giving the male a greater need for it to copulate and be fruitful and multiply, don't get me wrong I feel females like and need sex but the reaction time and stuff that has to happen before copulation is a lot more then males, guys can be ready to go in an instant.

I think down through time, and you have proven that with your post and great research the female can and has used sex as leverage for their wants and needs and are doing it as we speak in households across the country, how many times has a guy heard, "maybe you'll get lucky", I don't believe I have ever used that phrase, but have heard it spoken to me lots, lol.

It therefore goes without saying for me anyways, women can take sex-fast longer then men, on average.

I don't believe men are more sexual then women but have a greater drive.

As far as a solution for women to solve political issues, duh, hey if it works, why not.

    Welcome!!!

"I think the men have expressive and primary sex desire while the women's desire has to be evoked by external stimulii. Once, a woman is on fire, nothing can stop it but the fire in man is controllable."

Wow...at least we agree on one thing: I also think that women can also be stimulated by external imagery. But I do not agree that the fire in a man is more controllable than in a woman; I'd say that those (men and women) who control it, control it well...those (men and women) who don't control it, simply don't. I believe control is beyond gender...

Ram, thank you ever so much for having dropped by (I hope you do return) and left such a magnificent comment: I loved it :D!

"However, I do agree that the need or wants to have sex is not a matter of gender. The problem is that men are acting like hunters and some obviously think the can take what they get."

I agree with you. On the other hand women do seem to like it when men hunt, this seems to excite them (the imagery of being their prey and being at their mercy). But we also have women who do like to act as hunters...

"You know my saying; Make Blogs, not Wars. Now I would say: Max; Make more posts like this ;-)"

  39. Hey Zhu :D!

"Love the title of this post! :D"

LOL I am glad you did, girl...it is a bit provocative, yes?

"I think we are brainwashed by society. Men are not more sexual than woman... we just have different "schedules"."

    Hear, hear!

" I believe women are aware of their sexuality maybe a bit earlier than man, early teens. By aware of their sexuality, I mean they notice they are changing, notice that they can be attractive and not just "cute" etc. Medias don't really stress on that."

That is true. As women change (in early teens) they not only begin to perceive they can be attractive but also they realise that they can make use of their attractiveness (this is when they let the games begin). Men become aware of their sexuality a bit later (not a lot later), but it occurs differently...they seem to focus on their penis more and for what it is for, whereas women seem to focus on the intellectual aspect of their sexuality (i.e. manipulation). It is very interesting to observe.

"However, it is stressed that men after 16 or 17 are just looking for sex, would do it constantly etc. Er... I don't think so. Sure, some probably go through that phase, but that's just what it is: a phase, encouraged and popularized by the so-called "teen movies"."

I don't think so either; like I said, I think they are still studying how their body works. Oh, those "teen movies" are disgustingly deceiving and brainwashing; I can't even watch them (never could, not even when I was a teen myself) *nodding*.

"I think the truth is in the middle... both gender enjoy sex (at least I hope!) and both have a role to play. That's it!"

I agree with you, girl *High Five*!

  40. Hey Bob :D!

"Wow, this post has it all, history, which I love and SEX, which I also love, lol."

    LOL I hear you!

"Now for me and most of the guys I hang with would say sex is more important to their functioning, (less backaches and lack of sleep, lol) then women."

"less backaches and lack of sleep"? Seriously? If men don't have sex they have backaches? LOL LOL...I thought that Kenyan guy was making it up LOL...

"Reading over the comments most have say the 2 genders require it equally, I disagree, maybe it is the way males are brought up, or God giving the male a greater need for it to copulate and be fruitful and multiply, don't get me wrong I feel females like and need sex but the reaction time and stuff that has to happen before copulation is a lot more then males, guys can be ready to go in an instant."

"guys can be ready to go in an instant" what a dreadful imagery! LOL Guys need to learn that taking time is the best and it help prolonging orgasms...aaahhh, Tantra could help a lot of men *nodding*...
Bob, I think it is the way most males (in the western world) are brought up; because women require sex as much as men only they were brought up (mainly after the IX century) not to express it. Women do have the need to copulate, be fruitful and multiply, although they may require (well, most) a certain ritual and compass etc...but, hey...guys need to learn about cadence and compass, it would do them good lol.

"I think down through time, and you have proven that with your post and great research the female can and has used sex as leverage for their wants and needs and are doing it as we speak in households across the country, how many times has a guy heard, "maybe you'll get lucky", I don't believe I have ever used that phrase, but have heard it spoken to me lots, lol."

LOL true. LOL LOL LOL LOL I hear you, Bob! LOL...

"It therefore goes without saying for me anyways, women can take sex-fast longer then men, on average."

I think women pretend they can take it longer than men, that's all...but I may be wrong.

"I don't believe men are more sexual then women but have a greater drive."

    I see...

"As far as a solution for women to solve political issues, duh, hey if it works, why not."
