Last week, I read that Brussels decided to replace the traditional Christmas tree by an abstract piece of art, because the traditional tree is offensive to non-Christians (in particular, to Muslims); therefore, the solution was to offend Christians and traditional Christmas lovers.

I would like to know why the city hall would want to accommodate the Muslim community when this community didn't even ask for such a gesture (the chairman of the Belgian Muslim Executive, Mr Semsettin Ugurlu, said "We know we are living in a country with a Christian culture, we take no offence over a traditional Christmas tree,"). Such step makes me wonder if the mayor, or any councilman, wasn't looking to ignite the flame of bigotry - we must not ignore that the far-right has been giving signs all over Europe; and the followers of Anders Breivik (a fervent opponent of, what he called, the "Marxist multiculturalism") are beginning to come out of the hole.

When Oslo suffered a terrorist attack, last year; socialism and its permissiveness were the motive behind the attack. Elio di Rupo, the Belgium socialist PM, incurs the risk of seeing his country suffering a similar strike. France, led by a socialist president, is witnessing the rise of attacks against Muslims despite the new political approach to Islamic nations. Somehow socialists believe that by ignoring the Islamist problem that Europe faces; by shaping their foreign policies to prove how friendly they are towards Muslims; by accommodating non-Christians and, by labelling everything right-wingish as fascist, they will actually avoid terrorist attacks and other kind of problems.

Most of Europe is presently comprised of right-wing governments who are being as pernicious as socialists. The European economic crisis is far from being solved (the unemployment rates keep rising) and what do political leaders do? Instead of focusing on job creation for Europeans, in Europe, they focus on the Palestinian cause; instead of focusing on motivating banks to inject money in the European economy, they motivate the Union to send money to improve the Egyptian and Palestinian economies; instead of investing on the European Defence (to efficiently combat those who fight for the restoration of the Caliphate and their western accomplices), they strive to fund the Saudi, Qatari, Egyptian, Iraqi, Pakistani (and one of these days, the Palestinian) Military.

History has taught us about the dangers of having the middle-class in the centre of an economic upheaval. The European middle-class has been disrupted, it is uncertain about its future, its identity and on its way to find whom to blame. When it reaches this stage, the far-right will be right there stretching its hand and offering "solutions" - what then?
