The Expulsion of Hagar by Claude Lorrain |
There may be a huge chance that PLO's UN Statehood bid may have been inspired by Theodore Herzl's words:
"Those Jews who agree with our idea of a State will attach themselves to the Society, which will thereby be authorised to confer and treat with Governments in the name of our people. The Society will thus be acknowledged in its relations with Governments as a State-creating power. This acknowledgement will practically create the State"
You may be thinking how absurd the whole idea is; but bear with me, please:
The PLO is a "Society (...) authorised to confer and treat with Governments in the name of [the] people", a fact reiterated by President Abbas who, in September 2012 before the UNGA, said "We (...) the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO), the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people (...)". The PLO signed the creation of the PA (Palestinian Authority), in 1994 during the Oslo Accords, a body acknowledged by the international community as "a State-creating power".
On the 29th of November 2012, the world voted for an upgrade of Palestine's UN status in the hope that this "acknowledgement will practically create the State" and even though I believe in a future Palestinian State, I suspect it won't be exactly within the expected borders - for the reason that, legally speaking, they don't even make sense (still waiting for the day when a proper legal case will be made in the legal and political arenas); but I digress...
Some may be thinking "No way Palestinians would ever read the holy book of Zionism!" but I am not sure we should underestimate the Palestinian strategists - they have proved their intelligence, versatility and cunningness; therefore, they could have read it.
Another theory could be presented, though: the lovely, cultivated, consumed with pseudo-guilt, leftist Jews used Theodore Herzl's ideas and perfidiously helped the Palestinians to fight their brethren with Zionist tools - many of you will find this theory more plausible than the first one, I'm sure. But let's assume the PLO did seek inspiration in Herzl's political pamphlet: will it work for Palestine as it worked for Israel? I am not sure it will, because Palestinian politicians are dispersed in their intents and they do not organise themselves properly - i.e. they squander the money given by international donors, instead of investing it. Theodore Herzl proposed a formula to begin forming the Jewish State:
"The plan, simple in design, but complicated in execution, will be carried out by two agencies: the Society of Jews and the Jewish Company. The Society of Jews will do the preparatory work in the domains of science and politics, which the Jewish Company will afterwards apply practically. The Jewish Company (...) will organise commerce and trade in the new country."
This formula could've been easily applied by PLO if the Palestinian leadership had invested in education, in science, in constructive politics, in organising commerce and trade; instead of having wasted money (in organising terrorist organisations; in building schools where they train kids to be suicide-bombers; and in creating media networks to disseminate their propaganda of hate). Had they invested as they should have, they would've proven their competence in creating and administrating a nation.
The day Palestinian leaders refuse being the Jihadist puppet and focus on building a peaceful Palestinian society for its People, with no pre-conditions; then it can be said, in all certainty, that PA strategists read the Zionist Pamphlet and fully grasped its meaning:
"And whatever we attempt there to accomplish for our own welfare, will react powerfully and beneficially for the good of humanity."

Provocative and I like it!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous :D!
DeleteI am glad you liked it *bowing*.
Thanks for your comment and I hope to see you again :D.
Cheers
Olá Max,
ReplyDeleteWell, I am more inclined to the second theory: the leftists gave the PLO the idea of using Zionism against Zionists. It's not that I underestimate the Palestinians, but their mindset is not like ours, not quite. Yes, you could argue that those living in Paris, for example, are different; however I am not convinced of their absolute versatility.
I haven't read the Jewish State yet but now I will. I might be back.
I know you may be tired of hearing this but: good job!
Tchau
Olá Celeste :D!
DeleteYou are not alone: many people I know support that second theory.
So, you think that the Palestinian community, living in Paris, have not captured our way of thinking? I think they might have (just look at how they have been manipulating Europe...this is an insider job).
Read it because you will love it: it is a manual on planning and organisation.
Why, thank you *bowing*.
Celeste thank you ever so much for your comment, girl :D.
Cheers
What does the PLO or the PA have to do with Hamas?
ReplyDeleteHi Celia :D!
DeleteThey want us to believe they are different when in fact they are like two peas in a pod.
Celia, thank you so much for your input :D.
Cheers
Yah, they read it "But we shall give a home to our people. And we shall give it,...by transplanting them carefully to a better ground".
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous :D!
DeleteI see what you mean...and you may have a point.
Anonymous, thank you ever so much for your comment :D.
Cheers
I agree with Celeste, Max: the leftists did it! They are a treacherous little bunch and I am frankly sick of them. I swear Herzl was thinking of them when he spoke of the those who objected his ideas and of the "practical people".
ReplyDeletePoor Palestinian politicians, they may have been handed the Zionist tool but what have they done with it? Nothing. What will they do with it? Nothing more. Have you seen the state of PA lately...it is being slapped from all over, even from the Arab League. Oh well...
Shabbat Shalom to everybody!
Hi Ana :D!
DeleteDon't be sick of leftists yet: they have so much to teach us :).
It is true that PA is losing the momentum...go figure.
Ana, my darling, thank you so much for your comment :D.
Cheers
I am not so sure, but certainly do wonder at the nature of Islam: That it doesn't have the centralized bureaucratic structure of Roman Catholicism, yet Islam is able to launch well coordinated campaigns around the world. Different sects may fight it out, yet there seems much more in common between a Sunni and a Shiite than between an orthodox Jew and a modernist Jew.
ReplyDeleteThere is also the puzzle that the Palestinian leaders can astutely play both the western media and maintain good Islamic credentials.
Hey Looney :D!
DeleteIslam interestingly enough thrives on deceit: Sunnis and Shiites are two different schools (with their many sub-groups) yet they share one goal - the establishment of the Global Caliphate. They pretend to hate and fight each other; but ultimately they unite against the Infidels.
As for Orthodox and Reformist Jews: they share the same ancestry, the culture and traditions however they disagree on the way Judaism should evolve. They also disagree on the methodology of Judaism. Nevertheless, if one Jew is attacked all Jews will come on his/her rescue (differences are set aside). If Israel is in peril, more than 90% will come to her rescue.
"There is also the puzzle that the Palestinian leaders can astutely play both the western media and maintain good Islamic credentials."
They master the art of deceit very well. Now we just need the West to realise it.
Looney, thank you ever so much for your comment :D.

The last sentence says it all. At the end of the day and night, its all about humanity. I profoundly believe in the concept of one world and feel barriers or states are created to fulfill some narrow gains of a few selfish minded individuals who wanted to control the resources of a particular area with people at large hardly benefit of it. For the common man who cultivates crops in the fields or the daily wage earner, it hardly matters where they stay. Just hope the cause for common good prevail over narrow interests.
ReplyDeleteHi Kalyan :D!
DeleteYes, it is all about humanity.
Ah, you believe in the concept of Babel tower? It has been done and it didn't work either; so perhaps to keep things balanced we need a bit of self-interest...
"Just hope the cause for common good prevail over narrow interests."
Humans are flawed by nature; so, I am not sure we will ever attain perfection on earth; know what I mean?
Kalyan, thank you so so much for your comment :D.

ReplyDeleteHello Max, :)That says it all in a 'nutshell'. Not once have I seen a critic of Israel mention the fact that Yasser Arafat embezzled more than $500 million+ from relief monies. They could have made their part of the desert bloom. The PLO/PA/Hamas have been running a scam using their fellow arabs as pawns and puppets. It's time they woke up and realize who their real enemy is. Then they can build a Nation.
Hello Jeffrey :D!
DeleteYou know how it all goes: even if a critic of Israel holds the facts in his hand, he will cherry-pick out of convenience. Besides, some people never address the truth nor facts.
"The PLO/PA/Hamas have been running a scam using their fellow arabs as pawns and puppets. It's time they woke up and realize who their real enemy is. Then they can build a Nation."
Very well said.
Jeff, thank you a million times for your comment :D.
