The Genius of Destruction: The Far Right

The Triumph of the Genius of Destruction - Mihály Zichy
It is not a secret that Europe suffers from an Socialist-Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (SOCD); only, now, that disorder may be jeopardising its security.

Europe is a puzzling continent: once a world Power, now it sees itself nearly surpassed by emergent countries (and politicians seem to be ok with it); once a stable cultural society, now it sees itself stripped of an identity (and politicians appear to be ok with it); once an impermeable safe haven, now it lives constantly under threat (due to widespread permissive socialist-leaning policies)...and Euro-authorities expect the population, in general, to be ok with it. Only, they are not.

A fortnight ago, my contributing editor sent me an interesting Stratfor article (on European Jihadists), where I could read the most interesting of thoughts:

"(...) some European authorities try hard not to disturb Muslim communities in hopes that inaction will safeguard Europe against attacks by radicalized Islamists."

This is how Americans, and many others, see Europe when it comes to dealing with Radical Islam and Jihad. The European continent has a problem, one that should be acknowledged in order to be able to solve the issue once and for all. But since the current European policy seems to focus more on appeasing certain layers of society, Euro-authorities are unwittingly awakening a 100-year-old Beast: the Far Right.

Right Wing Extremists have managed to make a come back into the political arena, in recent years: Freedom Party (Austria), Flemish Interest (Belgium), Danish People's Party (Denmark), National Democratic party (Germany), Golden Dawn (Greece), Party of Freedom (Holland), British National Party with ties to EDL - English Defence League - movement (the UK) and the National Front (France). These parties can be considered Symbiotic Political Organisations, in a sense that despite being a legitimate political entity, they also support Right Wing Extremist Groups (that, in plain language, when convenient do the dirty jobs for them).

The mentioned groups play with popular discontentment: high unemployment rates, political corruption, perversion of European values, euro-scepticism, permissive immigrations laws, threats to homeland security and the perceived weakness of national security forces. People do not feel safe (in any level); the current European political establishment does not seem capable of dealing with the elephant in the room and far right organisations will use those facts to their benefit.

The tactics employed by the various far right aggregations will differ. Some prepared lone wolf terror operations (without claiming responsibility for such acts - a behaviour now copycatted by radical Islamist groups); others are preparing surgical attacks to specific communities across Europe; some are plotting what they perceive as counter-attacks to protect "European Sovereignty" and, others are planning to perpetrate crimes that will appear to have been carried out by minority groups and/or immigrants...

If security agencies have enough troubles controlling Jihadists operating in European territory; we can only imagine how hard it will be to control such groups - enjoying the political support of legitimate far right parties (empowered by the electorate who see them as a political alternative with viable solutions to their discontent and disappointment).

Once the Beast is pulled out of its slumber, the results of doing so are unpredictable: today, it is against Muslim immigrants and homosexuals; tomorrow, it will be against registered gays and everything non-white (including Jews, no matter how fair their skin might be).
European politicians should take heed, for history tends to repeat itself.

  1. I don't know who's worse: the islamofascists or the right wing fascists. Frankly, I get it why ppl would see these guys as an alternative cause they seem to be the only ones to address an obvious problem: the attempt of an islamic rule in europe, in america, in asia and so forth. These guys are not kidding

    1. Hi Anonymous :D!

Indeed. I don't get it, to tell you the truth; mainly because it is dangerous - would the people be able to control them after the problem is solved? What would these groups ask in return? Are we willing to pay the price?

No, the Islamofascists are not kidding but we must fight them in another way, without resorting to even more dangerous creatures.

Anonymous, thank you ever so much for your input :D.

  2. It is a dilemma, in order to appease an extreme we are awaking another extreme. It was clear to see Breivik was a bad omen.

    1. Hi Carl :D!

      Yes, he was.

It is not a dilemma if politicians do their job properly. If only they weren't getting financial support from certain Islamic groups and foundations...
Victorian times were better, I start to think.

Carl, thank you so so much for input :D.

  3. hi Max... i guess this presented "concern" should be at europe's political agenda, but what can we expect besides the cycles of human evolution? i dont support extremism in any kind (besides, i think there should be a Buzz for a Balanced Politic....my own uthopic flirt...) i personally dont believe that in the next 20 years there'll strong enough extreme governative partys that can rulle europes fate. nevertheless atention should be paied to underground or overground signs. greece, lacedemons, rome have fall at the hands of i could call liberal "socialism" (1st two) and far right (last one). Avoid the cycle??? hmmm thats an hard thing...

    all the best

    1. Hi Gallardo :D!

Yes, what to expect indeed? Like I told Carl...I am starting to think that the Victorian age was better and we should return to that societal order.

I am interested in your Utopian flirt: tell me more, please :).

Yes, I agree with you. We should pay attention to underground and overground signs because, although there won't be a strong extremist government soon, legitimate far right parties do support such groups and may use them to solve problems...but will they be able to control them in the aftermath?

So you agree that history will repeat itself?

G, always a pleasure...mate. Thank you so much for your input :D.

  5. As a Jew I don't want these guys to come after me after they are done with the Muslims and gays, so no...I don't support them and I don't agree with their usefulness! But we must keep an eye on them cause like someone said before: Breivik was a forewarning of times to come. I mean, in the end, his deeds worked...the left lost the elections in Norway!

  6. Max, olá again!

The Far Right is not the answer but perhaps it could be used for a push? But then we would have a problem: would they stop and who would stop them?

In Greece the Neo-Nazis are causing problems...we don't want the same to happen on our corner of the world. No, no, no.

Max, thanks for bringing this problem up. Like Gallardo said, this should be on the top of the political agenda but...they are worried with raising €1 trillion by squeezing the rich under the tax fraud banner.

A push? My darling, they would never stop and the price would be too high.
True, but Greece solved it pretty quickly. Would others?

You're welcome, my dear. Oh, yes....you know it.

Celeste, thanks for your much appreciated comment :D.

  7. You have really made my mind go into a tizzy and for once I'm just short of words to describe the feeling, so in these circumstances I will do what I do best is just to once again give credence to my devout beliefs and say this is the age of kali yuga as per hindu mythology, where everything bad that has to happen will happen and nobody can really stop the juggernaut, where reason will lose its space and the aggressive populist instincts will take over, where nobody will think about the future for their actions that they are perpetrating now but will only think about the moment. As somebody said Power is a power which should be used cautiously else you create such power that will shock you out.

    1. Hello Kalyan :D!

I also believe that in order for us to have a new order, we will have to go through a period of total destruction of the old. However, we must be able to control the intensity of things, lest we have a repeat of the WWII.

I like that thought on Power.

K, thank you ever so much for your input, mate :D.
