New Cycle: No Plans, Iraq & Haaretz

Woman Thinking - Jenö Barcsay

New cycle...
I should probably start by saying that our plan for 2014 is to not have a plan at all. This year, we are simply going with the flow. Wherever the river of life will lead us, that's where we'll go.

Will there be any forecast in 2014? Maybe; only this time they will come as we go - making it, thus, more interesting to make that summary of balance at the end of the year. The world right now is off balance. Storms are violent, the extreme cold weather is penetrating our bones; conflicts are getting more and more raging; politics is driving people mad; values are striving to make a comeback; absolute secularism is proving to be a failed system; and everything else seems chaotic. Notwithstanding, there is a quiet streak behind the chaos as if forewarning an alteration of the usual order of things. When this modification occurs, we will be here to address the events.

New cycle...
In the middle of my rest, during the weekend, I heard an expert (forgive me for not remembering his name exactly, but he is one of those who either live in London or teach at the LSE) saying that the violence prevailing in Iraq - ref: Sunni tribesmen helping the government to fight Al-Qaeda - is America's fault; because when Saddam Hussein was in power there was not one single terrorist attack in Iraq...w-o-w.

I really don't know whether to laugh or cry. First, blaming America for everything and nothing is old, people. Move on! Second, comparing Saddam's Iraq with today's Iraq is an extraordinary demagogy. Who are these people trying to kid?

New cycle...
Haaretz emailed me to inform that Peter Beinart has joined its ranks. First, Haaretz doesn't know how to get a hint: ever since one of its journalists decided it had the authority to confer the Palestinians the right and duty to throw rocks at Jews, I stopped reading that leftist trash (NB: I used to be an assiduous reader of Haaretz and leave comments there before it turned into a vehicle of sheer venom and resentment, unworthy of its name).
Second, as much as I appreciate Peter Beinart's debate technique; I am not interested in reading his continued Israel bashing while sitting comfortably in the US. I love our Jewish brothers as much as the next man, but give me a break...he's a fad.

Next week, we're back to work; so see you then.

  1. Let me just copy paste what I said on my fb wall. "I suspect that what the West set out to do commencing from their going into Afghanistan and with their now certain withdrawal from there, there is no need to be physically present in the Islamic world any more. They are killing each other off without any need of assistance from the West."

  3. Hey, Max!

I shall write a book in which, I'll assure the Arabs in Palestine, they will never get Samaria, Judea and mostly Jerusalem.
Haaretz, maybe, will invite me to counterpoint Mr. Beinart ;)

  4. Olá Max,

Haaretz hired Peter Beinart? Oh my God...that newspaper is really going down, isn't it? How desperate!
I think I know the guy who made that comment on Iraq: he is a professor (which makes his comment even sadder).
So, you planned not to have a plan? :-)

Looking forward to see what you will bring us in 2014.

    1. Hi Ana :D!

Yes, he is. LOL LOL when the Germans bought the newspaper one had to register in order to get 10 articles per month for free (can you believe it?); so at the time I registered, but I stopped reading the newspaper all together after Amira Hass' stupidity and self-loath (as a Jew, I mean).
      Amen to that, girl!

Ana, thank you ever so much for your awesome comment :D.

      Cheers

  7. I agree with you completely in the second para with all you said and absolutely love the part that says, old values are striving to make a comeback. The world is certainly a little dis-balanced at the moment with no inspirational leadership on sight whether on a national stage or the International stage which is making people getting frustrated more and more with the self-confident and obsessed political order who are almost bulldozing whatever they want on people without caring for any sense of self-respect and a complete apathy. And yes nature is having its own course, between the Poles and the Sahara, its time people wake up to the new climatic order, either to acclimatize or give away, where no amount of money can save you when nature decides to take it on its own hands.

    1. Hi Kalyan :D!

Exactly, no inspirational leadership, no inspirational cause, nothing. It seems like we are in pause at the same time that destruction ravages everything around us. Total unbalance.
I agree: it is time for people to wake up!

Kalyan, outstanding comment: thank you ever so much for complementing this article, man :D.

      Cheers
