Comment: UNGA Speech Delivered by President Abbas

Today we will briefly comment an extremely disappointing speech. The President of Palestine's address was filled with the usual platitudes. We selected this speech for its quasi insignificant impact.

President Abbas

A very poor speech delivered before an almost empty assembly, filled with catch-phrases intended to appease Hamas (in order to protect the fragile Unity Government), to maintain the weaning international support and divert the world's attention from the conflict with the Islamic State - did it work? Not really.

What made us endure his speech till the end was president Abbas' promise that he'd drop a bomb: if he did, the explosive weapon didn't detonate.

Overall speaking, Mahmoud Abbas' address was cliché-filled that paled in comparison to so many others speeches delivered before him (e.g. Turkey and Egypt).

  1. Is world's support for these guys weaning? Not yet in my view but then I didn't watch all speeches. I know Argentina president asked to recognize the palestinian state and no one listened I guessed. I didn't get this guy's speech cause it seemed to me to be the same old shit he's been saying for years, every time he's on tv it's the same shit and it sounds phony too. I had it!

  2. I think it's unfair of you Zionists. Mahmoud Abbas simply exposed the grievances of his people once again! They haven't been addressed, everything remains the same so naturally he has to repeat himself!

    1. Yes, his speech remains the same and his actions didn't change either. What has he done for the palestinians? Why does he support Hamas and their rockets? Self-analysis is needed desperately. He's a crying baby right now not behavior of a leader.

  3. It's lamentable that President Abbas lost the opportunity to explain the world how his National Unity Government actually intends to improve the lives of common Palestinians. What calculations has he made: does he still think that armed struggle and incitement work in their favour? Will he still endorse rocket attacks in detriment of the quality of life of his own people?
His speech was counter-productive and I would like to see the US State Department acknowledging it once and for all.

    1. Very good criticism. I heard many blasting the man for his poor taste of anti-Semitism but none spoke of the obvious, what about this leader focusing on his people and their welfare? Isn't that what a leader is suppose to do? He should've stayed in the palestinian topic and discuss Hamas and condemn it for their absurd and criminal behavior. His supporters only damage peace they don't advance it.

  4. This man is a criminal! He actually went on stage to say PA is endorsing terrorism "Abbas promised to “maintain the traditions of our national struggle established by the Palestinian [Fatah] fedayeen” as far back as 1965." WTF? And where's the US' condemnation of this speech, uh?
Great comment, Max. I won't +1 it cause we shouldn't give prominence to this wolf disguised as a sheep.
