When is the Media going to be held accountable for the destabilisation it causes around the world?
It has become more and more obvious that most of the Mainstream Media suffers from a grave problem: political megalomania.
News Media believe to hold such power that they can do just about anything in absolute impunity. Most reporters, anchormen, producers etc no longer make an effort to report the news; they do not share the truth, they do not expose corruption, they do not strive to make our world a better place; au contraire, they lie, they manipulate facts, they subvert values, they coerce politicians, they make policy, they betray national interests, they steal the people's sovereignty, they foster chaos – all in the name of sensationalism (based on good old greed).
Let's call things for what they really are: the mainstream media is mainly leftist and they are on an ideological mission.
Sure, it would be easier for any of us to simply put the blame on the journalists and reporters, as a professional class, however the truth is that not all of them are radical political agents: many of them are actually cornered against the wall because if they'd act according to their personal sense of ethics, their contract would be terminated.
“I had just finished an interview on the conflict in Afghanistan in the studios of a major international broadcaster in London. I left the studio and was accosted in the corridor by the network’s prominent Middle East correspondent, who said ‘I want to speak to you about what you say about Israel’. I said ‘I wasn’t talking about Israel but about Afghanistan’. He said, ‘No but I want to speak to you about what you do say about Israel’. ‘What is it?’ I asked, expecting the worst. ‘I agree with every word you say,’ he said. ‘Then why don’t you say it?’ ‘Because if I did I’d be fired!’ he responded.” - Col. Richard Kemp in The Amoral Revolution in Western Values and its impact on Israel
This is grave. And it happens more often than we think. Fortunately, some professionals are starting to stand up against this sort of blackmail (e.g. Matti Friedman).
We have all seen the handwriting on the wall: it started with redirecting the viewers' focus towards specific themes, it continued with the subversion of values, and it will finish with policy making (if we don't do something about it).
Who are these people who believe to have the right to tell us who to like or hate? Who are these folks who treat us (their funders) as idiots? Who are these creatures who decided to be the gods of moral relativism and the creators of a new morality? Who are these monsters who participate in the incitement against others, who shamelessly practise anti-Semitism with our pockets' blessing?
We have all seen the examples of these nefarious Media behaviour: the Arab-Israel Conflict (where they distort the facts, mislead the audience, victimise and absolve terrorists, and incite against Jews without suffering the consequences for it); the GOP Primaries Debates (where they recently asked irrelevant questions, interrupted the candidates in the middle of explaining their proposed policies, and revealed their anti-conservative bias and their aggression); the coverage of racial issues in America (intended to stir more hatred and divisions than to quell them); the coverage of the migrant crisis in Europe (to force us into sympathising with a specific group of individuals while European culture and values are under assault) and the absolute silence when it comes to more tragic issues in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Nay, sane people must come together and put a stop to this. The Mass Media today do not wish to inform people, they wish to brainwash them. There's clearly an urgent need for a reset (through the rules of the free market).
I know, many of you must be thinking that I'm an absolute nutter for proposing such a revolution; but it is possible to put the breaks to it all with a bit of patience, a lot of planning and organisation.
Enough of unethical, unprofessional, trashy reporting. Enough of the leftist propaganda à la Nationalsozialismus (National Socialism = Nazism).

Agreed. The media has been overstepping their boundaries for years but now it's peaking. Time to change that but viewers need to get on board: either we stop watching them or we unsubscribe their services. But they need to be put in their place, no doubt.
ReplyDeleteHi Jake :D!
DeleteIndeed. No, I'm not sure Boycotts are the best way; in my opinion, making use of the market is the best way to remove certain individuals from "power". However, I do agree that it's time to show these people their proper place.
Jake, thank you so much for your comment :D.
Cheers
The mainstream media is following the Nazi model, tell a lie long enough and it will eventually be true. The only way to force them to change is to stop reading their news and go to the alternative media, Max. That will be the revolution but people are addicted to their news now. But you are right to say they are too obvious in their lies.
ReplyDeleteHi Pietr :D!
DeleteIndeed, it is. It's trying to re-write history, facts and bills. It's shameful.
If someone comes up with a better solution than by all means, step forward; but this needs to stop.
Darling, thank you so much for your comment :D.
Cheers
The Main Stream media produces what sells. There are forces behind them that are normally inimical to normal life. If you regress enough, you will find the money trail leading to the military industrial complex. The more strife there is in the world, the more this group benefits. In the process if lives are lost, too bad. And no, the situation is not about to change any time soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Rummy :D!
DeleteMaybe in the past, and because we let them get away with it for so long, now they are going too far. Everybody is complaining, from scholars to politicians. We need the Media, obviously, but they need to know their place.
I will follow your advice and follow the money trail *bowing*.
I'm more optimistic than you: the situation will change eventually (it will take time but it will).
Rummy, thank you so much for your great comment and advice :D.
Cheers
A very good description of the "Drive-by Journalism"!
ReplyDeleteI am reminded that Fox News became the most profitable of US news channels quickly in a crowded market simply by not being too far left. The others (NPR, CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC) all catered to the leftwing viewer, which left 50% of the market revenues on the table for whoever was willing to do something different. These others would still rather be politically correct than profitable, while some (like MSNBC) have positioned themselves even further left in an effort to distinguish themselves from the pack. Which is to say, I believe that the degree of non-constructive news reporting cannot be attributed to mere short term money seeking and petty corruption, but rather reflects a much deeper and more serious pathological condition.
Hi Looney :D!
DeleteThank you *bowing*.
lol a pathological condition...I see...do you have an idea of which one exactly?
I like your assessment and will use it in future reflections. But how can we revert "Drive-in journalism" to proper, ethical, journalism? That's what I'm looking for...
Looney, thank you so much for your great comment :D.
Cheers
As for the pathological condition, I see it as a spiritual one. And just as ancient Israel was plagued with false prophets, so we have journalists and academics today! So how to fix it? I am not sure, but diagnosing the problem is the first challenge!
DeleteLooney, I see what you mean. Good comparison: false prophets and journalists + academics (or perhaps pseudo-academics).
DeleteIndeed, diagnosing the problem is the first step; as for the solution: it will come, G-d willing.
Cheers :D
