Meanwhile in Haiti

The events that occurred last week in Haiti appear on the surface to be lifted from a dimestore novel from back in the day.

To recap the events from July 7th, Gunmen stormed the Presidential Palace in Port-Au-Prince. President Jovenel Moise was slain in a fusilade of gunfire that also left his wife seriously wounded. `At this point is when the story gets very interesting. 

It was revealed that the assault force was comprised of 25 Colombians and 2 Haitian-Americans. One of the Americans it would turn actually worked as a Security Consultant at the Canadian Embassy in the Country. The other American was an on again/off again informant for the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) 

This however is not the first time the DEA turns up in this incident. Imagery from the attack does show that the lead vehicle that breached the compound was indeed a Black Suburban and a clear American Accented voice does indeed say "DEA Operation" 

The company that hired the assault force has come under scrutiny as well. CTU Security Base which is based in Miami and was founded by Venezuelan National Antonio Enmanuel Intraigo Valero who claims to be a former Policeman who worked back in Venezuela.  In recent days a Haitian Doctor based in Florida was arrested in the case. It was revealed that He hired the firm for VIP Security at a cost of $3000 a month.  Haitian Police have stated he is a central figure but have not elaborated how much of a role he played. 

Haiti has had several Political crises since the collapse of the Duvalier Dynasty in the 1990s. Since 2018 there has been chaos in the streets as roving Street Gangs went through the streets. President Joveniel Moise himself was implicated in Corruption in a previously released report by the Haitian Senate.

At this time there are three different individuals claiming to be the rightful leader of Haiti, Elections and a Constitutional Referendum are planned for later this year as well. 

Seems to be Par for the Course in this Country.
