Under threat

Portugal is under a terrorist threat. The government convened, during the past weekend, after having been warned by Spain about two Pakistani terrorists who allegedly sought harbour in our country.
Since the 9/11 the Portuguese have witnessed the world changing: tight security in airports and aircrafts; paranoia; wars; more terrorist attacks (England, Spain, The Netherlands, Turkey…); the chaos generated by Islam, which led to censorship in Europe; empowerment of security forces; eavesdropping, tapped phones with no court order; the stigma of the Islamic community…
Amazingly some Portuguese socialist Euro-MPs (along with their continental Euro-fellows) engaged in a crusade against the American security forces claiming that the Americans were clearly violating the human rights of their terror prisoners, and using European locations and air space in order to implement their “rendition program”, thus making Europe its accomplice in these Human Rights violations (as if Europe were that abiding).

The rendition program was developed by the CIA in the mid-1990's in order to track down and dismantle militant Islamic organisations in the Middle East. "Extraordinary rendition" operations were meant to apprehend terrorists abroad, usually without the knowledge of the host government.
It is said that during this operations torture is applied to detainees, therefore going against the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
When a bunch of cold-blooded, brainless, insensitive murderers plan to rip lives of innocent people; aren’t they exercising the cruellest form of “Extraordinary rendition” (since innocents are kidnapped from life, blindfolded by explosions and when they open their eyes they are being interrogated in the after-life by the Karma police)?

For the past two years, the Portuguese Euro-MP, Ana Gomes, has been screaming at 7 seas and winds that the American Security forces are criminals, and deserve to be brought to international justice.
Of course she can afford to hysterically scream her lungs out since no member of her family was ever involved in these past and current terrorist attacks (and God willing she and her family never will). One wonders whether all these Euro-MPs that declared war to the forces that strive to keep the world safe (since whenever there is a world crisis everybody turns to the Americans for some sort of aid) would hold the same position if tragedy would knock on their door…

Reflection is the prophylactics of ridicule.
Euro-MP Ana Gomes defends that terrorism should be dealt with without affecting the perpetrators’ dignity.
Let’s assume that Portugal catches the two alleged terrorists: should its national security forces (SIS – Serviço de Informação e Segurança) extract information from them over a café au lait and a croissant with duck fumé?
Is this the interrogation method that Euro-crusade-MPs suggest? Or are they implying that security forces should spank them as long as they leave no visible bruises?

Evidently nobody agrees with torture, however what is the most efficient form of extracting information that will be vital to keep all of us safe?
