The Labyrinth of Marriage

The wedding ceremony is the starting point.
The party is awesome. The honeymoon is heaven.
Now the start is a bit behind…there is no turning back…

Butterflies flutter in the stomach. The time has come to build her own life (by the side of a lovely spouse), build her own family, no longer planning for one but for two now…
«What if he doesn’t like the way I am an organisation freak? What if I snore? Now I will have to wax my legs every 15 days...and I won’t be able to wear my beat-up knickers any longer – I must remember my mom’s advice...oh God, what if I’m too bossy?»

She continues walking through the labyrinth...slowly...sometimes obstacles come across her way, that only give her even more strength to proceed with the journey – the highlight of this path is when it comes a point when she has to decide whether to go left or right («Which decision will benefit us both?»), and whenever she feels lost or can’t seem to decide, she can always rely on her spouse’s help and, together they make decisions, solve situations...they are a team.

Half way the labyrinth, she looks at her right and realises that from that moment onwards her mind will cease to think & speak in the first person singular; only to begin communicating in the first person plural...
Plural yet singular. They think alike; they sense each other; they know when the other is sick or sad, stressed or worried; even though they speak different languages they have one language in common (that of Love); they share the same dreams, the same ambitions...but not the same workout plan, nor the love for sweets.

They wonder when they’ll reach the end. They turn right then left, then right again...again left...they want to run (so that they reach the centre faster) but their legs won’t let them: it’s like Solomon is reminding them that there is a time for everything...a suitable time.
They sit on the floor and chat. They breathe the fresh air of life and do some yoga. They get up and proceed walking...turn left & right, right & left, right again...they see the centre, they are almost there «That was easy!» they tell each other laughing; yet their legs feel heavier and heavier...their feet won’t move, so they sit. They try to crawl only to move an inch (2,5 cm). They pause and chat.

After a while they get up and walk towards the centre. Once they reach it, there’s a letter right in the middle of it, on a silver platter...he picks it up and hands it to her; she reads it out loud:
“This is not the end. It has only been two months...there are many more labyrinths to go through. There is no turning back. Continue the journey. Good luck & God Bless!”

They actually think of turning back, but then when they look behind, the labyrinth is gone. They look forward and realise that they are on a starting point of whole new labyrinth....

I now invite you to read the Labyrinth of Marriage under the perspective of a man who’s been married for 15 years: LS.

  1. Beautiful post, Max! Especially since it sounds so personal. :-)))) The funny thing about being able to "read one's minds or reaction" is that you can tease each other and have a good jolly laugh HE HE HE HE HE HE...;-D

  2. I think when we stop and look back, we have a different opinion of the labyrinth that we traversed. We look at it with fondness and familiarity, instead of the fear and insecurity we started with. That labyrinth has become our legacy.

  3. The labyrinth symbolism immediately brought Pan's Labyrinth to mind. OK, erase that thought.

The wedding ceremony is just a long ago memory now. Life moves on. Sometimes I take my wife for granted because she is always there, but I would not know what to do without her.

  4. Hi Max….

Let me step in to your labyrinth…. :)

Cool this seems to have a personal feel to it….have you recently been married? :)

“The wedding ceremony is the starting point.
The party is awesome. The honeymoon is heaven.
Now the start is a bit behind…there is no turning back…”

    - LOL Well the ceremony may be the start but we co bring baggage with us! LOL

“Butterflies flutter in the stomach. The time has come to build her own life (by the side of a lovely spouse), build her own family, no longer planning for one but for two now…
«What if he doesn’t like the way I am an organisation freak? What if I snore? Now I will have to wax my legs every 15 days...and I won’t be able to wear my beat-up knickers any longer – I must remember my mom’s advice...oh God, what if I’m too bossy?»”

    - Think of the poor butterflies! LOL Are you an organizational freak? Do you snore? (These could have made the list of 7) LOL Hey in winter its ok to go past 15 days without wax…the added fur will keep you warm…no comment on the knickers except are you trying to sound English? :) Are you too bossy?

”She continues walking through the labyrinth...slowly...sometimes obstacles come across her way, that only give her even more strength to proceed with the journey – the highlight of this path is when it comes a point when she has to decide whether to go left or right («Which decision will benefit us both?»), and whenever she feels lost or can’t seem to decide, she can always rely on her spouse’s help and, together they make decisions, solve situations...they are a team.”

    - After more time together the well trod path helps….it is valuable to try and benefit both but another excellent way to do this is for both spouses to only consider the other…to always put themselves in second place…if both do this it works if only one does this the results are less positive :)

“Half way the labyrinth, she looks at her right and realises that from that moment onwards her mind will cease to think & speak in the first person singular; only to begin communicating in the first person plural...

    - One flesh….when you speak of different languages do you mean male and female languages or others? LOL Oh no doom different work out plans! One does not love sweets???!!! Does this include the chocolate food group? Oh my…this is serious…. :)

“They wonder when they’ll reach the end. They turn right then left, then right again...again left...they want to run (so that they reach the centre faster) but their legs won’t let them: it’s like Solomon is reminding them that there is a time for everything...a suitable time.”

    - A time to….spit in the wind….be quiet and allow the other to have their way…of course Solomon made a mess of his life with his multitudinous wives…talk about a maze…

“They sit on the floor and chat. They pause and chat.”

    - They should buy some chairs! ROFL…that kind of yoga? Sometimes when one can only crawl is when the other must carry them….

“After a while they get up and walk towards the centre. Once they reach it, there’s a letter right in the middle of it, on a silver platter...he picks it up and hands it to her; she reads it out loud: “This is not the end. It has only been two months...there are many more labyrinths to go through. There is no turning back. Continue the journey. Good luck & God Bless!”

    - I note he picks it up and hands it to her to read…. :) Very sweet….Ok…do you believe in luck?

“They actually think of turning back, but then when they look behind, the labyrinth is gone. They look forward and realise that they are on a starting point of whole new labyrinth....”

    - Interesting…I am wondering what exactly this symbolizes….

Max….a very interesting introspection shared with us here…thanks! Your usual clever writing and unique style!

"Especially since it sounds so personal. :-)))) The funny thing about being able to "read one's minds or reaction" is that you can tease each other and have a good jolly laugh HE HE HE HE HE HE...;-D"

LOL actually it is semi-personal, since it contains parts of testimonies gently given by friends.
I see what you mean, girl lol! ;D

Gorgeous, thank you so much for having dropped by and shared your thoughts with us :D!

Very well said *clap clap clap*! I particularly loved "That labyrinth has become our legacy" - beautiful and inspiring!
And it is true, we start the path with fear and insecurity...

D, thank you so much for having shared your thoughts on this: I loved it :D!

Oooh, that is so sweet...I think that at some point we take the people we love for granted, but the most important thing is to remember what they really mean to us...

  8. Hi LS :D!

"Let me step in to your labyrinth…. :)"

    Please do... :)

"Cool this seems to have a personal feel to it….have you recently been married? :)"

    Not entirely...LOL LOL LS....

"LOL Well the ceremony may be the start but we co bring baggage with us! LOL"

    True...

"Think of the poor butterflies! LOL Are you an organizational freak? Do you snore? (These could have made the list of 7) LOL Hey in winter its ok to go past 15 days without wax…the added fur will keep you warm…no comment on the knickers except are you trying to sound English? :) Are you too bossy?"

No. No. LOL LOL LOL "the added fur will keep you warm" LOL"! LOL *nodding*! No.

"After more time together the well trod path helps….it is valuable to try and benefit both but another excellent way to do this is for both spouses to only consider the other…to always put themselves in second place…if both do this it works if only one does this the results are less positive :)"

I don't agree that the spouses should place themselves in second. I think they should put the couple project first, without trying to annul their individuality.

"One flesh….when you speak of different languages do you mean male and female languages or others? LOL Oh no doom different work out plans! One does not love sweets???!!! Does this include the chocolate food group? Oh my…this is serious…. :)"

Yes, one flesh. LOL LOL I mean any type of language - I leave it to the readers' imagination.
One does not love that many sweets LOL! No, chocolate is not included.
    LOL LOL....

"A time to….spit in the wind….be quiet and allow the other to have their way…of course Solomon made a mess of his life with his multitudinous wives…talk about a maze…"

LOL well, sometimes one does have to compromise. Oh please...Solomon was a great leader and that is all that matters. His personal life is not my concern.

"They should buy some chairs! ROFL…that kind of yoga? Sometimes when one can only crawl is when the other must carry them…."

LOL LS...are you asking what kind of yoga? What if both are crawling? Then perhaps, the best thing to do is just stay put and wait for the proper time to move....

"I note he picks it up and hands it to her to read…. :) Very sweet….Ok…do you believe in luck?"

Yes, he is a gentleman :)! If by luck you mean prosperity, success and good fortune, then yes...I believe in luck.

"[“They actually think of turning back, but then when they look behind, the labyrinth is gone. They look forward and realise that they are on a starting point of whole new labyrinth....”] - Interesting…I am wondering what exactly this symbolizes…."

It means when couples want to go back to what they know, to certain patterns...but the evolutionary path prevents them from doing so. They must go through new stages, news twists and turns...

"Max….a very interesting introspection shared with us here…thanks! Your usual clever writing and unique style!"

Why, thank you, LS...thank you so much *bowing*!
It was my pleasure to share it with you!

LS, thanks for this delightful comment: I loved it :D!

  10. Hello LS!

"Not entirely recently married…ok…got it….LOL LOL"

LOL LOL LOL...provocation LOL LOL (I am so watching you) LOL!

"LOL Tarantula legs don’t keep you warm in the winter? How do you know you don’t snore? Of course no you are not bossy…"

ROFL...shut up LOL! LOL because if I did, my husband would've told me so. LOL LOL man...

    It's one theory, yes.

"Leaving it to our imagination is dangerous….LOL LOL Everybody needs chocolate…except dogs…. :)"

LOL well, I like a bit of danger LOL *nodding*. LOL LOL that the One, no LOL....

"LOL LOL Do you think God was interested in Solomon’s personal life? Does not character of leaders matter? Solomon caused all kinds of problems for his kingdom…Even with all that wisdom…"

I think God is more interested in Solomon's fulfilling the task he was sent for. I know that to you it does matter a lot; but to me the only thing that matters is the leader getting the job done.
Of course, if the leader is one of those who preaches all the time that one must be pure and abide to some sort of morality, and he is out there "bumping and grinding" (pardon my expression), then he is not a leader at all, and must step down.
But if the leader inspires people to do their job and build something good together, and doesn't interfere with other people's life; then what he does with his wife, or not; is not of my concern.

"Yes what kind of yoga….you know I am always interested in these kinds of details…. :) They could try rolling…."

    Well, no.

  11. Hi Max,
    Happy Maxday darling.

I love the gaiety in this post. I can frolic in it all day. :D

I also love the new blue graphic.

"What if he doesn’t like the way I am an organisation freak? What if I snore? Now I will have to wax my legs every 15 days...and I won’t be able to wear my beat-up knickers any longer – I must remember my mom’s advice...oh God, what if I’m too bossy?"

ROFL. ROFL. ROFL. (stopping to write) Firstly no one can be too organized, can they? Organization is what makes great men - and women.

Anthony Burgess once said, “Laugh and the world laughs with you, snore and you sleep alone.” Waxing every 15 days - ouch!

My mother used to always say where clean underwear because you never know when you're going to get into a car accident. (Another Americanism that doesn't make sense.)

Too bossy? Men like to know whose the boss. LOL. Okay, seriously, he knew all of these things before he married you and he has accepted them. He may be thinking along the same lines about himself - different questions though.

"...whenever she feels lost or can’t seem to decide, she can always rely on her spouse’s help and, together they make decisions, solve situations...they are a team."

And that's the beauty of it. You are a team and together you make decisions.

"...they share the same dreams, the same ambitions...but not the same workout plan, nor the love for sweets."

It's fun growing together, bringing each of ones thoughts to the collective consciousness and taking the responsibility of loving someone other than oneself.

"They wonder when they’ll reach the end."

Real love has no end. It is infinite.

“This is not the end. It has only been two months...there are many more labyrinths to go through. There is no turning back. Continue the journey. Good luck & God Bless!”

Congratulations on your two month journey. Keep sailing the sea of love, let it take you to places you haven't been and destinations that will keep you coming back. Life is a journey - love is it's guide.

Oh Max, I love this piece. It's so upbeat and it leaves a good feeling with the reader. Thank you.

    Much Love Cheers.

  12. “The wedding ceremony is the starting point.”
--- The “will you marry me” and the “Yes” is the starting point. The ceremony is, for quite a few, is anti-climactic.

“The party is awesome. The honeymoon is heaven.”
--- In most cases the party is awesome. The honeymoon is heaven regardless of where it is.

“Now the start is a bit behind…there is no turning back…”
--- Not in America……have you heard of divorce?

“Butterflies flutter in the stomach. The time has come to build her own life (by the side of a lovely spouse), build her own family, no longer planning for one but for two now…”
--- Ahhhhhhhhh yes, I remember that feeling

“«What if he doesn’t like the way I am an organisation freak? What if I snore? Now I will have to wax my legs every 15 days...and I won’t be able to wear my beat-up knickers any longer – I must remember my mom’s advice...oh God, what if I’m too bossy?»”
--- Very similar feeling for a guy, especially in the area of financial support.

“She continues walking through the labyrinth...slowly...sometimes obstacles come across her way, that only give her even more strength to proceed with the journey – the highlight of this path is when it comes a point when she has to decide whether to go left or right («Which decision will benefit us both?»), and whenever she feels lost or can’t seem to decide, she can always rely on her spouse’s help and, together they make decisions, solve situations...they are a team.”
--- EXCELLENT!!! This is where a lot of marriages go south…..not understanding the “Team” concept.

“Half way the labyrinth, she looks at her right and realises that from that moment onwards her mind will cease to think & speak in the first person singular; only to begin communicating in the first person plural...”
--- NO – The mind will need to determine if the thought will affect the spouse, then the thought should be plural. However, the individual must retain some individuality. When one goes completely from the “I” to the “we” resentment can creep in down the road.

“Plural yet singular. They think alike; they sense each other; they know when the other is sick or sad, stressed or worried; even though they speak different languages they have one language in common (that of Love); they share the same dreams, the same ambitions...but not the same workout plan, nor the love for sweets.”
--- Okay……..now I feel better. However, the sense of individuality, in some degree, must be retained. Dreams must be shared even if they are not the same dream

“They wonder when they’ll reach the end. They turn right then left, then right again...again left...they want to run (so that they reach the centre faster) but their legs won’t let them: it’s like Solomon is reminding them that there is a time for everything...a suitable time.”
--- There is no end, only the journey.

“They sit on the floor and chat. They pause and chat.”
--- Set-backs and moments of immobility will always be there.

“After a while they get up and walk towards the centre.
--- Yes, the journey. I understand the “center” ------ a place where there is only two (almost as one) outside of everything else, with complete trust in each other, everything else becomes manageable and almost trivial.

“They actually think of turning back, but then when they look behind, the labyrinth is gone. They look forward and realise that they are on a starting point of whole new labyrinth....”
--- The journey has many beginnings and ends, mountains and valley, ups and downs and countless moments to be thankful.

"My mother used to always say where clean underwear because you never know when you're going to get into a car accident. (Another Americanism that doesn't make sense.)"

ROFL....oh boy, my mom used to say that same thing! LOL LOL She'd add "Imagine when the paramedics come to take you to the hospital, and they start cutting your clothes to check for the wound...and suddenly they see a dirty underwear: what an embarrassment!" LOL *nodding*....must be a mom thing!

"Too bossy? Men like to know whose the boss. LOL. Okay, seriously, he knew all of these things before he married you and he has accepted them. He may be thinking along the same lines about himself - different questions though."

  14. Hello Mel :D!

"--- The “will you marry me” and the “Yes” is the starting point. The ceremony is, for quite a few, is anti-climactic."

    Anti-climactic, really!? I don't see it that way...do you?

" The honeymoon is heaven regardless of where it is."

Oh yeah! LOL....[that was too emphatic LOL]

"--- Not in America……have you heard of divorce?"

ROFL...yes, I have...but the premise of any real marriage is eternal love and union, isn't it?

"--- Ahhhhhhhhh yes, I remember that feeling"

It is so cute, isn't it? :)

"--- Very similar feeling for a guy, especially in the area of financial support."

I can only imagine...but my father-in-law told me the same thing: that it is similar for guys.
That is why I just love you guys: you are cute :)!

"--- EXCELLENT!!! This is where a lot of marriages go south…..not understanding the “Team” concept."

Yes, the "team concept" is extremely important! I admire Team Couples, they make it seem like any obstacle is surmountable because their joint strength brings any hurdle down: love it!

"--- NO – The mind will need to determine if the thought will affect the spouse, then the thought should be plural. However, the individual must retain some individuality. When one goes completely from the “I” to the “we” resentment can creep in down the road."

I agree with you, and that was what I was telling LS. But what I meant is, when we are single (or even dating) we tend to think about "I & I & I" whereas after a strong commitment (or marriage) even though we are "Ego" our mind begins to think in the plural (in this case "duo") what will benefit both the most.

"--- Okay……..now I feel better. However, the sense of individuality, in some degree, must be retained. Dreams must be shared even if they are not the same dream"

LOL I am glad you feel better :)! I agree. I think you are right: we can adopt the other's dream, can't we?

"--- There is no end, only the journey."

    So it seems, Mel!

"--- Set-backs and moments of immobility will always be there."

    You read me well....

"--- Yes, the journey. I understand the “center” ------ a place where there is only two (almost as one) outside of everything else, with complete trust in each other, everything else becomes manageable and almost trivial."

I knew you would understand it, Mel :)! Yes, that is what I see for me and my husband.

"--- The journey has many beginnings and ends, mountains and valley, ups and downs and countless moments to be thankful."

    Amen!

Mel, thank you so much for this superb comment :D! It was a delight *bowing*!

  15. It's exactly that!

"La vie à deux" is a new beginning. Sure, it's never like being single, in good or in bad. It's different, it's new, it's challenging and exciting.

I find a lot of people don't realize that. It takes some work to live with someone. I don't mean you have to sacrifice everything but yeah, you have to make some compromises once in a while. A lot of people expect their partners to be like in their dreams 24/7... not likely to happen. People change, life change but I believe we can be happy if we are willing to work things out.

Okay, I sound pessimistic maybe. But I'm tired of reading about hese Bridget Jones like couples who split because "he snores" or "she doesn't like sports". Come on guys, don't be selfish! We are sometimes way to individualistic...

Phew, I had a lot to say! :D

  16. Beautiful and so originally stated, love your work.

Hey wait till you start looking like each other, lol, notice couples that have been together for a long time start to not only think alike and sense what the other is feeling but also look alike, I notice it at the mall with all the older mall walking couples.

Very interesting how you state that when they look behind them the labyrinth is gone, probably because they have solved it, just another path now, no mysteries, if only life were like that sometimes, knowing which way to turn, how fast to travel, knowing when to be still and rest, so many variables isn't there?

    You said:
I think God is more interested in Solomon's fulfilling the task he was sent for. I know that to you it does matter a lot; but to me the only thing that matters is the leader getting the job done.
Of course, if the leader is one of those who preaches all the time that one must be pure and abide to some sort of morality, and he is out there "bumping and grinding" (pardon my expression), then he is not a leader at all, and must step down.
But if the leader inspires people to do their job and build something good together, and doesn't interfere with other people's life; then what he does with his wife, or not; is not of my concern.

    I respond:
Interesting….What do you think of David’s adultery?

  18. Hi Max!

1- Labyrinth is the right way to consider a marriage.
2- No turning point for even when it fails the mark stays there forever.
3- The unknown, the uncertainty, takes over for a while and then the egos are slashed, for the couple becomes a 2-in-1 package: it is plurality in its best.
4- Wisdom takes charge for the couple learns how to manage the togetherness: first bad impressions, flaws, fights; reconciliations, decision makings, co-operation, mind-guessing, body & facial languages.
5- When children and behaviour's sophistication become a factor, the labyrinth gets elaborated; thus, skipping one leg shaving is no longer a very serious diplomatic clash; and the beat-up knickers become the couple's private anecdote.
6- Eventually the couple reaches the point of deep complicity and the stage of knowing & sensing each other represents a whole new start.

    Complimenti, signora!

  22. Hi Circulus Ciceronis :D!

    Welcome!!

"1- Labyrinth is the right way to consider a marriage."

    Thank you *bowing*!

"2- No turning point for even when it fails the mark stays there forever."

So true. And this is true at two levels:
1- (physically speaking) if there are kids involved, you are forever connected to that person; the experiences, the memories stay with you forever and ever; even if your remarry.
2- (spiritually speaking) the energetic connection remains is printed in one's soul.

"3- The unknown, the uncertainty, takes over for a while and then the egos are slashed, for the couple becomes a 2-in-1 package: it is plurality in its best."

    Absolutely!

"4- Wisdom takes charge for the couple learns how to manage the togetherness: first bad impressions, flaws, fights; reconciliations, decision makings, co-operation, mind-guessing, body & facial languages."

And what is beautiful to see is that this type of wisdom flows naturally. It is like water naturally adapting itself to the container in which it is inserted.

"5- When children and behaviour's sophistication become a factor, the labyrinth gets elaborated; thus, skipping one leg shaving is no longer a very serious diplomatic clash; and the beat-up knickers become the couple's private anecdote."

LOL I see...I will try to remember that LOL... :)

"6- Eventually the couple reaches the point of deep complicity and the stage of knowing & sensing each other represents a whole new start."

    I agree.

    "Complimenti, signora!"

  23. Hi Max,

"I love it too...LS was the author of it! He is talented lol..."

LS is multi-faceted. I also heard that he's made origami out of the Bible.

"Well, my dad snores and my mom has been sleeping with him for 32 years now LOL. Ouch, indeed...LOL."

LOL. Does she use earplugs? If the one who doesn't snore goes to sleep first and is a heavy sleeper, it is a mute point. As long as they are happy. :D

"ROFL....oh boy, my mom used to say that same thing! LOL LOL She'd add "Imagine when the paramedics come to take you to the hospital, and they start cutting your clothes to check for the wound...and suddenly they see a dirty underwear: what an embarrassment!" LOL *nodding*....must be a mom thing!"

OMG. My mother used to say the same thing. Why would the paramedics come just to see our underwear? ;D (subtle humor)

"True. I personally never thought that it would be this much fun, but so far it is. And I am looking forward to seeing time go by and the several levels of growth..."

From your lips to God's ears.

"Thank you, darling *bowing*! This is beautiful; Lady A...it makes us want to fall in love all over again!"

  26. Max:

Marriage is an interesting thing. Two people who are completely different come together to form one totally new entity. As a couple they act completely different than either one of them did before they married. Her beat up knickers? Now she goes without knickers! He used to work out and stay in shape. Now he lays on the couch. What happened to those beautiful souls?

On the other hand, some couples bring out the very best in each other. She blossoms into a lovely flower, smart, well dressed, loving. He grows into a tall tree, strong, wise, tender. Yet, when they divorce, why do these two people who were bound in Holy matrimony, who promised to love and care for each other, to cherish one another, now hate each other with all the vitriolic poison of Satan's own venom? Is this the horrible trap hidden within the dark hallways of the labyrinth?

    Very thought provoking post Max.

"Marriage is an interesting thing. Two people who are completely different come together to form one totally new entity. As a couple they act completely different than either one of them did before they married."

    Yes...a new entity...well said.

"Her beat up knickers? Now she goes without knickers! He used to work out and stay in shape. Now he lays on the couch. What happened to those beautiful souls?"

LOL true, this is what happens with some couples, isn't it? I like the way you put it...

"On the other hand, some couples bring out the very best in each other. She blossoms into a lovely flower, smart, well dressed, loving. He grows into a tall tree, strong, wise, tender."

Absolutely! Then we have these cases...

"Yet, when they divorce, why do these two people who were bound in Holy matrimony, who promised to love and care for each other, to cherish one another, now hate each other with all the vitriolic poison of Satan's own venom? Is this the horrible trap hidden within the dark hallways of the labyrinth?"

This is an excellent question! I would say that they end up by hating each other because love, or respect, wasn't there to begin with.
Not everybody gets married for love, let alone real love; but at least they respect each other enough to go through a decent divorce (with no hate, no grudge, no resentment). I think it is sad when couples part with hate in their hearts, and when children are involved it is even worse (for us, who look at it from outside, it seems like they forget to respect their kids).

    "Very thought provoking post Max."

    Thank you, Swu...

And thank you so much for this outstanding comment, which made us think (and at the same time see the humour in the many types of labyrinths) *bowing*!

Yes, I remember all the time, darling! You are so right: people don't seem to value a marriage anymore...it's sad, isn't it? Sometimes I wonder if people get married because of the ceremony only, or because they think it is poshy to do it *nodding*.
LOL I am not sure if hollywood introduced it or not, I think that the problem stems from a deeper root (in people's mind).

  36. Hi Max! I wouldn't be too concerned about your flaws, as us men have them too, you will be suprised to hear!

As for newly weds, I believe we do not find out what our partners are really like until after the honeymoon period evapourates. But for better or worse, so they say!

Besides our flaws, the really big ones really come out when we get oh, so really, really old.

Take for instance us men when that happens:

    1. Hair loss.
    2. Hair starts to grow out of our ears and noses to make up for number 1.
    3. The six pack starts to look like a keg.
    4. Gummy smiles appear when we forget to put our false teeth in.
    5. We give in and have our prostate checked. Gloves and KY jelly if you don't mind, doctor!

    To name just a few!

Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

    Take Care,
    Peter

I believe you are right! That is why I am waiting to see how things will be after the first year...but like you said: for better for worse :)!

"Besides our flaws, the really big ones really come out when we get oh, so really, really old."

    Really?

"1. Hair loss." - yep, my dad lost his...

"2. Hair starts to grow out of our ears and noses to make up for number 1." - LOL true...

"3. The six pack starts to look like a keg." - oh no...that I didn't know.

"4. Gummy smiles appear when we forget to put our false teeth in." - lol...that also happens to women, I suppose...

"5. We give in and have our prostate checked. Gloves and KY jelly if you don't mind, doctor!" - I hear you! It must hurt...

Ah, Peter you rock...but you know what? I don't see these as flaws; I see them as part of process of living - I have no problems with it.

"Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!"

Thank you, Peter! Merry Festivities and a Happy New Year to you & yours!!! :D
