Madredeus are the most internationally known Portuguese band. It was originally constituted by: Pedro Ayres Magalhães (classical guitar), Rodrigo Leão (keyboard), Francisco Ribeiro (cello), Gabriel Gomes (accordion) and Teresa Salgueiro (vocal). They exist for 20 years now, with 14 albums released, and performances in 41 countries.
Madredeus' production is a fusion of Portuguese traditional music, classical music and Bossa Nova; although it is often mistakenly labelled as Fado.

Below, I share with you a love theme, by this fantastic group, entitled "Haja o que houver" (Whatever happens), and its lyrics. Enjoy!
Lyrics:
Haja o que Houver
Haja o que houver
Eu estou aqui
Haja o que houver
espero por ti
Volta no vento ô meu amor
Volta depressa por favor
Há quanto tempo, já esqueci
Porque fiquei, longe de ti
Cada momento é pior
Volta no vento por favor...
Eu sei quem és
pra mim
Haja, o que houver
espero por ti...
Há quanto tempo, já esqueci
Porque fiquei, longe de ti
Cada momento é pior
Volta no vento por favor
Eu sei quem és
pra mim
Haja, o que houver
espero por ti...
Whatever Happens
Whatever happens,
I am here,
Whatever happens,
I will wait for you.
Come back with the wind; oh, my love
Come back in haste, please
How long? I have forgotten,
Why I stayed away from you
Each moment is worse,
Come back with the wind, please...
I know who you are
To me,
Whatever happens
I will wait for you...
How long? I have forgotten,
Why I stayed away from you,
Each moment is worse,
Come back with the wind, please...
I know who you are
To me,
Whatever happens
I will wait for you...

ReplyDeleteNão conhecia o grupo, mas achei muito bom, é bom ouvir músicas que são poesias que possuem conteúdo e não só uma repetição sem sentido de palavras.
Um maravilhoso final de semana para você.
Almost speechless - what a beautiful, artistic, creative song - full of love, care and passion - very thoughtful lyrics too. Thanks for sharing this - gave a real good start to my day!
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful week ahead :-)
Oh Max...She has a velvet voice and impresses the listener (it's me :P)and takes away somewhere i have never been, i have never known...Thanks a lot Max for introducing me with this great song and great lyrics...
ReplyDeleteAnd i want you to listen "The Music Played" from Matt Monro. He effects me a lot and i'm sure you'll love it, as well. It's a great nostalgie!
Here's the lyrics
An angry silence lay where love had been
And in your eyes a look I'd never seen
If I had found the words you might have stayed
But as I turned to speak, the music played
As lovers danced their way around the floor
I sat and watched you walk towards the door
I heard a friend of yours suggest you stayed
And as you took his hand, the music played
Across the darkened room the fatal signs I saw
You'd been something more than friends before
While I was hurting you by clinging to my pride,
He had been waiting and I drove him to your side
I couldn't say the things I should have said
Refused to let my heart control my head
But I was made to see the price I paid
And as he held you close, the music played
And as I lost your love, the music played.
Hugs and kisses...
Burcu
