What on earth went through Eve’s mind?
God was very clear when He ordered Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit of the tree sitting right in the middle of the Eden (that delightful, delicious, appealing tree...a true temptation). However she wanted to know, she decided that Adam and she deserved to know more, to acquire scientific knowledge...
Sometimes I try to put myself in Eve’s shoes: there she was, in the middle of paradise with no clothes on (ok, forget for a second that the Biblical nudity may represent innocence of mind, total openness, no taboos, no malice); unshaved legs and armpits; no manicure kit; no shoes (good grief!); and stuck to a guy (who, according to the evolutionists) was ugly as hell – what a turn off.
Before such vicissitudes she had to do something; so she began to gaze at the tempting tree...
Eve manipulated the serpent...
The dialogue between the two is rather odd...the woman is approached by the creature that asks her (as if wanting to confirm) what God had ordered. Now, this caught Eve’s attention, for she might have been questioning the commandment for quite a while; so she “confirms” it to the snake; that immediately set its plot in motion (not knowing that fair Eve had already set hers in motion first): “You shall not surely die”
Upon listening to these words, the woman received the confirmation she expected...they won’t die in physical terms, but if God had said that they’d die...He must have meant “change”...the change she needed and wanted. She begins to think about the future (after all, somebody has to): if she has the guts to take the fruit off the tree, have a taste of it and then share it with her man...imagine the knowledge they’d acquire to invent things...her eyes shone before such possibility.
It took her a second to complete her strategy...then she made the serpent feel important. The latter filled with vanity utters the words that doomed its species for eternity “for God knows that in the day you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as God, knowing good and evil”...
This was how Eve got rid of her intellectual adversary...
The woman ate the fruit. She offered it to her man, who also ate it. God (Who was disappointed at the fact that Eve had not disappointed Him) sent them forth of the Garden of Eden; thus condemning them to hard work, and pain, that set off their creative flow.
Like Fernando Pessoa wrote (in the poem “Prince Harry ”):
“God wills, man dreams, the task is born”

ReplyDeleteHi Max!
It has been long time ha:) Ok Ok i feel a little guilty about our discussion in my blog but it's ok now.. My intent was not hurt or provoke anyone, honey!
Anyway... About your post... I wanna change my approac about this historical "apple" event in a funny way... Well if i were Adam or Eve, i would eat that apple! Why? Because I would get bored by just looking at the apple tree, wouldn't you? :) Ok everywhere is paradise but sooner or later that apple would have been eaten, am i wrong:P?
Ok Ok...I stop it! That's enough..
To be serious, as far as i read somewhere, it was not only Adam and Eve who had been punished. Besides "the devil", "the peacock" and "the snake" were punished. It's said that the peacock was the guardian of the paradise door and its voice is as beautiful as its feathers and everybody was listening its beautiful voice. But god derogated its voice from itas a punishment and gave it a bad voice which we know now. When somebody came by it to see its great feathers, immediately they got away because of its bad voice.
And the snake was punished because it couldn't defend the tree. And before this, the snake was upright like a stick and never creeps on the ground. With punishment, it was obliged to creep under people's foot.
And you know the devil...
I hope you have a great week Max! And many many posts to be read by me!
Kisses and hugs!

Hi Burcu :D!
ReplyDelete"Yuppii it's me the one who makes the first comment! :)"
LOL yes, this is a first indeed ;)!
"It has been long time ha:) Ok Ok i feel a little guilty about our discussion in my blog but it's ok now.. My intent was not hurt or provoke anyone, honey!"
No, darling...don't feel guilty! Our discussion was a very healthy one: I loved it :D! Trust me, you didn't hurt nor provoke anyone...we're cool :D!
"Anyway... About your post... I wanna change my approac about this historical "apple" event in a funny way... Well if i were Adam or Eve, i would eat that apple! Why? LOL LOL I think I probably would be staring at that tree for a long time, yes LOL *nodding*. No, you are not wrong...that fruit would've ended by being eaten at any time.
"To be serious, as far as i read somewhere, it was not only Adam and Eve who had been punished. Besides "the devil", "the peacock" and "the snake" were punished. Yes, true...the snake was punished for its petulance *nodding*. That is so interesting!! I didn't know that part (about the peacock)...thanks for having shared this with us :D!
"And the snake was punished because it couldn't defend the tree. And before this, the snake was upright like a stick and never creeps on the ground. With punishment, it was obliged to creep under people's foot.

Indeed...indeed...

ReplyDelete"Oii Max....this interesting picture...you put a very much particules in my opinion, this colors, this animals, this person. To be serious, as far as i read somewhere, it was not only Adam and Eve who had been punished."
It is indeed a very peculiar version of Eden, isn't it?
You are correct...the snake was punished as well...
"Congratulations"
Thank you so much, querido *bowing*!
Philip, thank you ever so much for your comment :D!

Hi Konstantin :D!

Thank you so much, and God Bless you too :D!
Thanks for having dropped by, and I hope to see more of you here ;D!

Max,
ReplyDeleteI have a slightly different take on this. (suprise, surprise. ;)
I do believe that Eve made a decision. But I do believe that Satan tricked her through his words. He led her to think that eating of the fruit was the only way for her to have knowledge. She believed that fact. I feel she weighed the consequences and decided knowledge was worth the price she had to pay.
In our religion, we believe that taking of the fruit was actually part of God's plan. He knew that this must happen to bring about mortality. But of course, if God had said that, Satan would have found a way to keep Adam and Eve from taking it. So instead, God kind of tricked Satan in to getting Eve to do what He wanted them to do all along.
This is a great topic! :)
I'm not sure if you want to read all of this, but if you are interested, here is the account as written in the Book of Moses, additional scripture that we have in our church.
6 And Satan put it into the heart of the serpent, (for he had drawn away many after him,) and he sought also to beguile Eve, for he knew not the mind of God, wherefore he sought to destroy the world.
7 And he said unto the woman: Yea, hath God said—Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? (And he spake by the mouth of the serpent.)
8 And the woman said unto the serpent: We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden;
9 But of the fruit of the tree which thou beholdest in the midst of the garden, God hath said—Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
10 And the serpent said unto the woman: Ye shall not surely die;
11 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
12 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it became pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make her wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and also gave unto her husband with her, and he did eat.
13 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they had been naked. And they sewed fig-leaves together and made themselves aprons.
14 And they heard the voice of the Lord God, as they were walking in the garden, in the cool of the day; and Adam and his wife went to hide themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
15 And I, the Lord God, called unto Adam, and said unto him: Where goest thou?
16 And he said: I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I beheld that I was naked, and I hid myself.
17 And I, the Lord God, said unto Adam: Who told thee thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldst not eat, if so thou shouldst surely die?
18 And the man said: The woman thou gavest me, and commandest that she should remain with me, she gave me of the fruit of the tree and I did eat.
19 And I, the Lord God, said unto the woman: What is this thing which thou hast done? And the woman said: The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
20 And I, the Lord God, said unto the serpent: Because thou hast done this thou shalt be cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life;
21 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, between thy seed and her seed; and he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
22 Unto the woman, I, the Lord God, said: I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception. In sorrow thou shalt bring forth children, and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
23 And unto Adam, I, the Lord God, said: Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the fruit of the tree of which I commanded thee, saying—Thou shalt not eat of it, cursed shall be the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life.
24 Thorns also, and thistles shall it bring forth to thee, and thou shalt eat the herb of the field.
25 By the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, until thou shalt return unto the ground—for thou shalt surely die—for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou wast, and unto dust shalt thou return.
26 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living; for thus have I, the Lord God, called the first of all women, which are many.
27 Unto Adam, and also unto his wife, did I, the Lord God, make coats of skins, and clothed them.
28 And I, the Lord God, said unto mine Only Begotten: Behold, the man is become as one of us to know good and evil; and now lest he put forth his hand and partake also of the tree of life, and eat and live forever,
29 Therefore I, the Lord God, will send him forth from the Garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken;
30 For as I, the Lord God, liveth, even so my words cannot return void, for as they go forth out of my mouth they must be fulfilled.
31 So I drove out the man, and I placed at the east of the Garden of Eden, cherubim and a flaming sword, which turned every way to keep the way of the tree of life."
Moses 4: 6-31
Hi Max,
ReplyDeleteYou do know how to tell a story, and to spin, just a little.
And thus began woman's manipulation and (mastery?) over all the surrounds her (man included.)
Anyway, how were they to know that it was the garden of eden if they knew of nothing else? So began man's (non gender) curiosity, quest for achievement and the ultimate goal of returning to the garden of eden.
Hey Max,
ReplyDeleteJust testing to see if my new logo appears on this comment.
Hi Max! Heaven forbid that Adam was to blame for pinching that apple. Men already have enough to answer for.
ReplyDeleteBut like they say it takes two to tango with both being equally to blame.
Whether they existed at all, we could argue till we were blue in the face. Besides I’m too tired to start a barney having stayed up all night watching the Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama. What a God send!
But still it’s a good story with a good message.
I have to correct you on one thing, according to my sources Adam was a Mel Gibson look alike.
Where would we be if the two hadn’t partaken of the forbidden fruit?
We’d be walking around naked without a care in the world and hair down to our toes.
Unfortunately for us they opened up a whole can of worms which we’re still paying for today.
Take Care,
Peter
Hi Max,
ReplyDeleteGreat photo.
"What on earth went through Eve’s mind?"
Maybe she believed in the adage, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." Maybe she craved the nutritional benefits of the apple? Perhaps she just wanted Adam's apple (evil grin.)
"Sometimes I try to put myself in Eve’s shoes: there she was, in the middle of paradise with no clothes on (ok, forget for a second that the Biblical nudity may represent innocence of mind, total openness, no taboos, no malice); unshaved legs and armpits; no manicure kit; no shoes (good grief!); and stuck to a guy (who, according to the evolutionists) was ugly as hell – what a turn off."
Roaring laughter. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Now I'm going to have those images in my head all day.
Eve was playing the part meant for her. It was all preordained - the rest is as we say, history. But the word "history" should be changed to "herstory."
Did Eve set the bar high for manipulative women? Did she use her wiles to tempt Adam? Possibly, but she proved that women can think for themselves and are quite capable of doing a job without relying on sexuality to get them to there.
“God wills, man dreams, the task is born”
Beautiful.
Eve-olution Cheers!
Happy Wednesday! Bloghoppin' here... Hey, I have an interesting tutorial for you that I have written myself. It is about adding Adsense on your Single Post in XML template. I hope you'll like it! God Bless you!
ReplyDeleteHi D! :D
ReplyDelete"I have a slightly different take on this. (suprise, surprise. ;)"
LOL Girl, your opinion is very much welcome ;)! So fire away...
"I do believe that Eve made a decision. But I do believe that Satan tricked her through his words. He led her to think that eating of the fruit was the only way for her to have knowledge. She believed that fact. I feel she weighed the consequences and decided knowledge was worth the price she had to pay."
That makes sense. So you are saying that the snake was Satan? And you deplete Eve of any manipulative trait?
"In our religion, we believe that taking of the fruit was actually part of God's plan. He knew that this must happen to bring about mortality. But of course, if God had said that, Satan would have found a way to keep Adam and Eve from taking it. So instead, God kind of tricked Satan in to getting Eve to do what He wanted them to do all along."
I agree that it was God's plan...for He knows everything before it happens. Yes, I agree again.
I only disagree on the Satan part (although it makes sense)...I think that God gave wings to Eve and Adam's Ego, superego and Id. He wanted to see what they'd so with the intelligence He had bestowed upon them...
"This is a great topic! :)"
Thanks :D!
"I'm not sure if you want to read all of this, but if you are interested, here is the account as written in the Book of Moses, additional scripture that we have in our church. "
I am delighted to read it; thank you so much *bowing*! It is not that much different than the Bible's, is it?
What I like about this passage is the symbolism contained in the whole conversation...very good.
D, thank you ever so much for your input! I loved it :D! It's always great to have you here!
Cheers
Hi Mel :D!
ReplyDelete"You do know how to tell a story, and to spin, just a little."
LOL Why, thank you :)!
"And thus began woman's manipulation and (mastery?) over all the surrounds her (man included.)"
LOL LOL you captured well part of my message, Mel...I knew you would be the one :D!
"Anyway, how were they to know that it was the garden of eden if they knew of nothing else? So began man's (non gender) curiosity, quest for achievement and the ultimate goal of returning to the garden of eden."
My point exactly. Yes, yes, yes...that is it.
Mel, your simple (yet deep) contribution is fantastic; thank you so much :D!
Cheers
Mel,
ReplyDeleteIt does show: and it looks gorgeous!! I loved it :D!
Hi Peter :D!
ReplyDelete"Heaven forbid that Adam was to blame for pinching that apple. Men already have enough to answer for."
LOL LOL Ohhh, I have already "blamed" Adam (in a previous, 2007, article)...so I preferred to leave him alone this time. Besides, Eve is the one who has always bugged me.
"But like they say it takes two to tango with both being equally to blame."
To tell you the truth, I don't even think it was a question of who's to blame...I think they did what they were designed to do...It was God's plan.
"Whether they existed at all, we could argue till we were blue in the face. Besides I’m too tired to start a barney having stayed up all night watching the Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama. What a God send!"
LOL I believe they did.
Oh, you watched it too? Wasn't it just amazing!? I couldn't agree with you more "What a God send!"...I think the whole world stopped just to watch his inauguration: fantastic!
"But still it’s a good story with a good message."
Oh, Peter...you are all too kind: thank you, mate *bowing*! :)
"I have to correct you on one thing, according to my sources Adam was a Mel Gibson look alike."
Please do....LOL LOL LOL he was? Then the evolutionists are utterly wrong! I knew it! LOL LOL...
"Where would we be if the two hadn’t partaken of the forbidden fruit?"
My question exactly!
"We’d be walking around naked without a care in the world and hair down to our toes."
ROFL....ROFL....what a dreadful image!! LOL LOL LOL Thank God they ate the fruit!
"Unfortunately for us they opened up a whole can of worms which we’re still paying for today."
Well, it is the price to pay for knowledge, my friend. And there is nothing more precious than knowledge.
Peter, my mate, thanks a million for this awesome comment: you rock! :D
Cheers
Hi Lady A! :D
ReplyDelete"Great photo."
Thanks! Jacopo Bassano painted it: isn't it just a peculiar version of the Garden of Eden (with the dark skies? Usually Eden's depictions have bright skies, lots of light...it is as if Bassano was making his critique through his painting)?
"Maybe she believed in the adage, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." Maybe she craved the nutritional benefits of the apple? Perhaps she just wanted Adam's apple (evil grin.)"
ROFL...ROFL...I am leaning towards her wanting the Adam's apple LOL LOL *nodding*....
But mind you, the Bible specifies not the fruit...I don't even know how the apple version came about. Was the Catholic Church? I am asking because I remember my mom telling me that it was an apple (and she is Catholic); and when I began to read the big Book, I was like "What was she talking about? Where's the apple?" LOL....
"Roaring laughter. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Now I'm going to have those images in my head all day."
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL...I had to do it, it is too great not to LOL LOL...*nodding*. I hope you didn't have nightmares?
"Eve was playing the part meant for her. It was all preordained - the rest is as we say, history. But the word "history" should be changed to "herstory.""
I agree with you. LOL LOL "herstory" LOL LOL well thought! LOL...
"Did Eve set the bar high for manipulative women? Did she use her wiles to tempt Adam? Possibly, but she proved that women can think for themselves and are quite capable of doing a job without relying on sexuality to get them to there."
Darling, we are all manipulative...it's in our genes (however the level of manipulation varies from womam to woman). No, she didn't have to use her wiles to tempt Adam (you see, he had been gazing at the tree for long too; however he said to himself "No way I am going to cross the Big Guy up there! Let Eve do the job and then take the fall" - two birds with one stone).
Halleluiah, sista! She proved just that...and did you see how she got rid of her opponent (the wise snake)? Beautiful!
"Beautiful."
Oh, yeah...Fernando Pessoa was an outstanding poet!
Lady A, thank you ever so much for this superb comment :D! You know I love talking to you, girl :D!
"Eve-olution"
LOL LOL brilliant!

Hi Max,
ReplyDelete"Isn't it just a peculiar version of the Garden of Eden (with the dark skies? Usually Eden's depictions have bright skies, lots of light...it is as if Bassano was making his critique through his painting)?"
I love his interpretation. It's like when we see photos of Hell, it's always dark, but what if it is really the opposite?
"I don't even know how the apple version came about. Was the Catholic Church? I am asking because I remember my mom telling me that it was an apple (and she is Catholic); and when I began to read the big Book, I was like "What was she talking about? Where's the apple?"
I remember hearing about the apple and that's all I took from Catholicism.
"No, she didn't have to use her wiles to tempt Adam (you see, he had been gazing at the tree for long too; however he said to himself "No way I am going to cross the Big Guy up there! Let Eve do the job and then take the fall" - two birds with one stone)."
Typical male. LOL.
"You know I love talking to you, girl :D!"
The feeling is mutual my friend.
Mutual Admiration Cheers!
Hi Max,
ReplyDeleteI thought I read your intent correctly. Except you said it with flair and intrigue.
Excellent post!!..........as are they all.
Hello Max!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations: this article is marvellous and intriguing.
1- Eve is a woman determined to defy God's recommendation.
2- To reach her goal, she made used of discontentment (the root of all revolutions) and vanity (the serpent's cockiness).
3- Her obstination made her wish come true: get the knowledge.
4- The couple and the serpent became "pariahs".
5- The couple came to acknowledge aggravation, grievances, stupefaction, displeasures, disbelief, deception, misconception, misfortune etc etc.
6- Finally, understood that knowing as much as God is not an easy task.
That's interesting... I can't shake out the naked bit out of my mind... :P
ReplyDeleteHi Lady A!
ReplyDelete"I love his interpretation. It's like when we see photos of Hell, it's always dark, but what if it is really the opposite?"
Exactly! I personally don't believe in hell, but for all we know (if it exists) hell could be freezing cold and bright...who knows?
"I remember hearing about the apple and that's all I took from Catholicism."
LOL LOL LOL I hear you! We were not destined for it....
"Typical male. LOL."
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL....I didn't want to say a thing but...for shizzle!
"The feeling is mutual my friend."
:) thank you!
Mutual Admiration and Respect Cheers
Hi Mel!
ReplyDelete"I thought I read your intent correctly. Except you said it with flair and intrigue."
LOL well, you know...intrigue is an interesting part of human relationships; plus the politics it generates...uhhh...delicious!
Thank you, my friend *bowing*!
"Excellent post!!..........as are they all."
Aaahh, you are too kind....thanks, once again :D!
Hello Circulus Ciceronis!
ReplyDelete"Congratulations: this article is marvellous and intriguing."
Thank you so much *bowing*!
"1- Eve is a woman determined to defy God's recommendation."
So true. But I wonder if her determination was part of God's plan...and if it was (and I am sure it was) why did He bestow upon her the task of being the determined one. What does that tell of the relationship God maintains with, and what He expects from, the feminine energy?
"2- To reach her goal, she made used of discontentment (the root of all revolutions) and vanity (the serpent's cockiness)."
I agree.
"3- Her obstination made her wish come true: get the knowledge."
Indeed...it goes to show us that the result of obstinacy neighbours that of stubborness (troubles, even though in this case not all is problematic, right?).
"4- The couple and the serpent became "pariahs"."
Yes.
"5- The couple came to acknowledge aggravation, grievances, stupefaction, displeasures, disbelief, deception, misconception, misfortune etc etc."
But they also came to acknowledge love, sex, reproduction, productivity, joy, happiness, calm, the pursuit of wisdom, contemplation, chocolate, delicious food...the inventions, comfort...the list is endless. As I said before, it isn't all negative.
"6- Finally, understood that knowing as much as God is not an easy task."
The question is: do they really knew as much as God?
I think that after biting the fruit they got to know only a small fraction of what God Knows!
C.C. thank you ever so much for another outstanding comment :D! I am growing used to them...you're spoiling me lol!
Cheers
Look who's here...
ReplyDeleteHi Shan :D!
LOL LOL LOL Yes, I thought you wouldn't be able to shake the naked bit *nodding*. Your hormones are still grooving, eh? lol...
Thanks for having dropped by, buddy...you were missed :D!
Cheers
Max:
ReplyDeleteMaybe the lady just wanted to eat an apple. It looks good, so maybe it tastes goo too. Besides, why wouldn't God want anybody to eat apples? And, if she did eat the apple, she'd suddenly have the wisdom of God. Gee, that seems a little like over kill. So it must have been the idea of the thing. God said not to eat, so we don't eat. It's a classic power move. God was exerting his muscles. I made you therefore you must do what I say. What kind of love is that? In modern times, if I clone someone, do I own them? I don't think so. If I create the tiniest speck of life, do I own it? That very question is being debated as we speak.
Anyway my friend, it is an interesting post that makes one think, and that's always a good thing.
Happy trails.
Hey Swu :D!
ReplyDelete"Maybe the lady just wanted to eat an apple. It looks good, so maybe it tastes goo too."
LOL LOL you know? Could be...
The issue is that when she ate the fruit she didn't have the wisdom of God...not even a tiny fraction of it (that is what makes me think about this over and over again)...so what was God's real intention when He ordered them not to eat from that tree?
"In modern times, if I clone someone, do I own them? I don't think so. If I create the tiniest speck of life, do I own it? That very question is being debated as we speak."
Ah, that would takes us back to that old question "do we, as humans, really own or possess anything?"...
Oh this is being debated...where, there in the US, or in a blog?
"Anyway my friend, it is an interesting post that makes one think, and that's always a good thing."
Thank you, my friend *bowing*!
And thanks for your generosity in sharing your thoughts with us...you know how much I value them :D!
Have a blessed weekend!
Cheers
Excellent post as usual max, makes a guy think.
ReplyDeleteSatan, the serpent, is the manipulator here, he says, hey Eve, to be more like God, take a bite, you're not gonna die, then you'll know what God knows, good and evil, be as God.
What is key here is what Satan does so well, he made Eve forget all that God had given her and focus on the ONE thing she couldn't have, very tricky.
BTW he is still doing this same thing today, a major reason for all the wars and disputes.
Max:
ReplyDeleteThe issue is being debated in more countries than the US. As a matter of fact, the Republican administration in the US is vehemently against such practices. Sometimes, I think, too much so. The democrats are more liberal. But there are other countries in the world that aren't so constrained. China, for one, is actively involved in gene development. And there are hundreds of rogue labs all over the planet that see the power in this kind of research. All it takes is money, and there's plenty of that going around. I can't cite the organization, but I know there is an international body that is debating the ethical issues right now. We have all read articles about the pros and cons cloning and man-made life. Cloning is one thing, but what happens when a brand new creature comes crawling out of the test tube? To me, it's a scary thought. This subject definitely needs more attention.
Happy trails.
VERY interesting. I haven't really thought about this. But I think if there's only Adam in my world and no other men, I'd have nobody else to compare, so I'd probably think he's pretty good-looking (or at least he looks just fine) HE HE HE HE...
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine once told me that she has a LONG list of questions that she'd ask God when she dies...or if the world comes to an end before she dies...anyway, you know what I mean...whenever she gets to meet The Maker he he he he...This also never crossed my mind, because I don't think we as humans are ready (will we ever be ready?) to know the answers. At least that's how I view it until now he he he...
When it comes to hell...what if it is filled with our WORST nightmares or WORST case scenarios or the things that would hurt us most? ---> for some reason this just popped out of my mind ha ha ha...I'd never really thought about this before.
Gee...you make my imagination soarrrrr, Max!!! Kudos to you! ;-D
Sorry to pop into this discussion so late.
ReplyDeleteFirst, the fruit was a Durian, not an Apple. Why anyone would want to eat a Durian is beyond me, but some people do and they sell them in our local Chinese supermarkets. It could only be a Durian because people either know that it is good or know that it is evil, but no one is neutral after eating a bite.
Max, the second point is that I have always understood that scientific knowledge and morality were entirely distinct. Although Adam and Eve had gained a knowledge of right and wrong, they were still not very good at enumerating the list of chemical reactions that occur as the result of photosynthesis, much less quantifying them. Is morality included in science? Or something entire distinct?
Unshaved legs? Good girl! What a bad role model! :-)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, my religious knowledge is bad, but I think I have heard many interesting theories on why Eve is NOT responsable. Indeed, I tend to believe women know best...
Hey Max, if I was stuck with the guy who was 'ugly as hell' - I probably be eating apples too, lol, many apples probably.
ReplyDeleteYou know Max, you got me thinking. May be God wanted Eve and Adam out of Eden, so he played a reverse physiology on them - thus the first introduction ot concept of punishment. Why Eve had to do the dirty job, lol, may be Eve look better than apple for Adam.
Excellent post Max, as always.
Anna :)
Hey Lord of the Astropics :D!
ReplyDelete"Excellent post as usual max, makes a guy think."
Thank you, my friend *bowing*!
"Satan, the serpent, is the manipulator here, he says, hey Eve, to be more like God, take a bite, you're not gonna die, then you'll know what God knows, good and evil, be as God."
Well, she had the option to chose not to be manipulated by the serpent (which you call Satan, others would call it Maya "the deceiving illusion, lie, evil"); yet she took a bite...why? Did she use the serpent as an excuse for what she had plotting for a long time or was she subconciously obeying to God's sub-order?
"What is key here is what Satan does so well, he made Eve forget all that God had given her and focus on the ONE thing she couldn't have, very tricky."
There is the thing: if God made us to His image, it means that we have a portion of His Intelligence in its purest form (since they were still in Eden)...now, could this Intelligence (even if a portion) be led to forget the Source's order? Hmmm...
I would bet they were doing exactly what God intended them to do...
"BTW he is still doing this same thing today, a major reason for all the wars and disputes."
I blame humans for that...not Satan.
Bob, fantastic comment...for which I thank you ever so much :D!
Cheers
Swu,
ReplyDelete"We have all read articles about the pros and cons cloning and man-made life. Cloning is one thing, but what happens when a brand new creature comes crawling out of the test tube? To me, it's a scary thought. This subject definitely needs more attention."
I agree with you, it is a scary thought. But I think that stem-cells research can be positive if legislated properly (all basis must be covered)...so that new and scary creatures don't come out test tubes. Hey, Swu...you just gave me an idea for a post! I will write about it in February...thanks :D!
Cheers
Hey Amel :D!
ReplyDelete"VERY interesting. I haven't really thought about this. But I think if there's only Adam in my world and no other men, I'd have nobody else to compare, so I'd probably think he's pretty good-looking (or at least he looks just fine) HE HE HE HE..."
LOL LOL you got a point there. But if Eve had the Supreme Beauty (God) as a model, she might find Adam ugly as hell lol.
"A friend of mine once told me that she has a LONG list of questions that she'd ask God when she dies...or if the world comes to an end before she dies...anyway, you know what I mean...whenever she gets to meet The Maker he he he he...This also never crossed my mind, because I don't think we as humans are ready (will we ever be ready?) to know the answers. At least that's how I view it until now he he he..."
I totally understand your friend lol. I think humans will be ready to know the answers as they spiritually evolve; but presently...no, I don't think they are either.
"When it comes to hell...what if it is filled with our WORST nightmares or WORST case scenarios or the things that would hurt us most? ---> for some reason this just popped out of my mind ha ha ha...I'd never really thought about this before."
Sweetie, I don't even believe in hell. But your theory is pretty good (it makes sense) :D!
"Gee...you make my imagination soarrrrr, Max!!! Kudos to you! ;-D"
LOL it's great, because I love hearing what your imagination produces :D! Thank you, gorgeous!!
And thanks for this awesome comment...you are better and better :D!
Cheers
Hey Looney :D!
ReplyDelete"First, the fruit was a Durian, not an Apple. Why anyone would want to eat a Durian is beyond me, but some people do and they sell them in our local Chinese supermarkets. LOL A Durian is not better than an Apple. Anyway, how do people know which fruit it was, if in the Bible it is written fruit (it is not specified)?
LOL It is an ugly fruit, but I am sure it tastes good.
"Max, the second point is that I have always understood that scientific knowledge and morality were entirely distinct."
And you are correct.
"Although Adam and Eve had gained a knowledge of right and wrong, they were still not very good at enumerating the list of chemical reactions that occur as the result of photosynthesis, much less quantifying them. Is morality included in science? Or something entire distinct?"
Ah, but they opened the door to others to study why and how those chemical reactions occur; wouldn't you think so?
Well, it depends on what kind of science we are talking about (I know that scientists would probably kills me - since they don't recognise it as such; but Esoteric science includes morality).
Looney, I thank you a million times for this outstanding comment: I loved it :D! It is always a pleasure to hear your thoughts.
Cheers
Salut Zhu :D!
ReplyDelete"Unshaved legs? Good girl! What a bad role model! :-)"
LOL LOL the thought that one would have to have unshaved legs for life, is a nightmare! I hear you!
"Seriously, my religious knowledge is bad, but I think I have heard many interesting theories on why Eve is NOT responsable. Indeed, I tend to believe women know best..."
She is not. The Church must have invented it for some mysogynistic reason...
I don't know if women always know best, but in most cases they do seem to have a sixth sense that comes to be extremely handy.
Zhu, thank you so much for having shared your thoughts with us :D!
Cheers
Hey Anna :D!
ReplyDelete"if I was stuck with the guy who was 'ugly as hell' - I probably be eating apples too, lol, many apples probably."
ROFL...ROFL...I hear you! Of course we are assuming the evolutionists are right here....because Peter says that Adam looks like Mel Gibson (much better version, isn't it?)...
"You know Max, you got me thinking. May be God wanted Eve and Adam out of Eden, so he played a reverse physiology on them - thus the first introduction ot concept of punishment. Why Eve had to do the dirty job, lol, may be Eve look better than apple for Adam."
I agree that God wanted Eve and Adam out of Eden to see what they'd do with the Intelligence He gave them.
I always say that Adam wanted to do the same as Eve but he let her do the job and then take the fall (he was so quick to put the blame on her when God asked him whether they had eaten the fruit or not) *nodding*.
But I think it was for the best...knowing Good and Evil is part of life and part of knowing God a little better too.
"Excellent post Max, as always."
Thank you, darling! I am glad you liked it *bowing*!
And thanks for having shared your thoughts...they are fantastic! :D
Cheers
Max you said: 'But I think it was for the best...knowing Good and Evil is part of life and part of knowing God a little better too.' - absolute truth :). Anna :)
ReplyDeleteAnna,
ReplyDelete*Bowing*! :)
Cheers
I don't care how many outstanding thoughts have stood here their mark before me. I gotta add my outstandingly cliche thought: I love this post. I love the feel of ceramic tile on my body as I rolled on it laughing. Thank you for being so funny.
ReplyDeleteHey PowerProNet,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the invitation to visit your site; you are too kind *bowing*!
Cheers
Hey Hning,
ReplyDeleteWelcome!
I am glad that you loved this post and that it made you laugh lol. That is music to my ears.
Thank YOU for having dropped by, read the post and shared your outstanding view on it :D!
Cheers
Max,
ReplyDeleteI want to apologize. I quoted from you here thinking that you're a guy.
Now that I know you're not..It kinda made more sense. I should have figured; no man would bother to wonder what could be on Eve's mind.
I'm not telling anyone, though. It's still funnier as it is. *grins*
Hey Hning :D!
ReplyDeleteThe meaning of your name is gorgeous!
Oh, so you thought I was a man? LOL LOL it is a common mistake, trust me!
I already saw your article, and let me tell you that it is great! I will comment it in a few minutes...you have a gift! Don't change a single thing!
Aloha Max……
ReplyDeleteYou are so far off the map in your presentation here I have think there is some baiting going on here….I will however bite….
;)
It was all about pride….power and control…and it still is…..
It is possible that there was no problem with excessive hair growth at the time…we are post Fall and things are broken…they are not the same as before the Fall…
Satan plays smoke and mirrors with the truth but Adam and Eve were willing accomplices..
God’s warning about Adam and Eve dieing was accurate and proved to be true. They sinned against God by eating from the tree and death entered the universe. Before the Fall death for humans was not part of life…..this rebellion, militation against God…sin is now part of our human nature. This was a not a case of intellectual stratagem but sin winning a battle with humanity…the sins of pride, and civil war against God….
Yet there is a way to have peace with God….
Aloha LS!
ReplyDelete"You are so far off the map in your presentation here I have think there is some baiting going on here….I will however bite…. ;)"
LOL LOL well, you know how it goes down here at the MAX LOL...
"It was all about pride….power and control…and it still is….."
Interesting...I can work with that...
"It is possible that there was no problem with excessive hair growth at the time…we are post Fall and things are broken…they are not the same as before the Fall…"
LOL aren't you romantic LOL? Hair grew just the same; it was not different than it is now. Next you will say that nails didn't grow; that Even and Adam slept and woke up with their hair all combed...
"Satan plays smoke and mirrors with the truth but Adam and Eve were willing accomplices.."
Satan? Why do Christians see the snake as being Satan? That view goes against the meaning of "Snake"...
Anyway, I agree with you when you say that Adam and Eve were no innocent beings.
"God’s warning about Adam and Eve dieing was accurate and proved to be true. They sinned against God by eating from the tree and death entered the universe. Before the Fall death for humans was not part of life…..this rebellion, militation against God…sin is now part of our human nature. This was a not a case of intellectual stratagem but sin winning a battle with humanity…the sins of pride, and civil war against God…."
It depends on what death means to you. There are many meanings to this word, so I may not be able to agree with you when you say that "before the Fall death for humans was not part of life"...not to mention that the antithesis within this sentence may prove that you know there was...
Yes, sometimes I forget that you are obsessed by the word "sin"...what if God would come to you and told you that it was the case of intellectual stratagem...what would do you say, I wonder?
"Yet there is a way to have peace with God…."
Yes, the Law....
:)
LS, thank you so much for having dropped by! It is always a pleasure to have you here with us :D!
Cheers
