President Trump's UNGA Speech: The Revival of Realism

President Trump's speech at the 72nd Session of the UNGA (United Nations General Assembly) reiterated the President's Political Position: he is a Classical Realist (described by him as “principled realist”). From the entire speech, I selected a few points that I consider to be the most relevant in the present conjuncture: Realism, Sovereignty, North Korea, Regimes Changes, Socialism, Right Wing Principles, Anti-Globalism Agenda and Migrant Crisis, International Security. Shall we Start?

Classical Realism

“We have a policy of principled realism, rooted in shared goals, interests, and values.”

Realism seeks the pursuit of states' national interests and security above all, since the world is an anarchic system prone to conflicts. Classical Realism (CR) still pursues national interests and national security without praising war too much. Furthermore, CR assigns “supreme value to successful political action based on prudence: the ability to judge the rightness of a given action from among possible alternatives on the basis of its likely political consequences” (source).

This is precisely how the Trump Administration sees itself dealing with the international political system: he seeks to put America's interests first but understands the US must interact with other states too - though he will give priority to those who share the same values as the United States.

If the righteous many do not confront the wicked few, then evil will triumph. - POTUS

“We will slide down the path of complacency, numb to the challenges, threats, and even wars that we face. Or do we have enough strength and pride to confront those dangers today, so that our citizens can enjoy peace and prosperity tomorrow?”

Good question. Not only is this question a reiteration of America's return to Realism, but also some sort of accusation: leftist ideologies created today's chaos. The societal decay, caused by relativism and mass indoctrination, did not profit the people – it left them numb and exposed to danger.

Sovereignty

“To overcome the perils of the present and to achieve the promise of the future, we must begin with the wisdom of the past.”

In simple words: we will not accept the One World Government chimera. It's not natural, it goes against human nature, individuality, personal freedoms; our national identity, culture, traditions and history. Thus, Socialism will be either tamed or suppressed entirely – depending on its proponents' behaviour.

Strong, sovereign nations allow individuals to flourish in the fullness of the life intended by God. - idem

“Our respect for sovereignty is also a call for action. All people deserve a government that cares for their safety, their interests, and their wellbeing, including their prosperity.”

President Trump respects Sovereign states but he is keeping an eye on countries that do not serve their people's interests, subjecting them to utter misery and arrested human development. And even though America is breaking away with the traditional interference in internal affairs, the President wants the People of the World to know that the US will use the instruments available to fight for them and go after corrupt leaders and all the elites linked to them.

“As President of the United States, I will always put America first, just like you, as the leaders of your countries will always, and should always, put your countries first.”

North Korea

“The United States has great strength and patience, but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.”

Kim Jong-Un should refrain from dragging the world into an all-out conflict, because if he begins to think of doing it: Military Force will be applied without placing one boot on the ground. This is not 1952, this is 2017. And no Media, no opposing government, no so-called Human Rights activist, will be able to stop the inevitable. There's no peace without war, there's no construction without destruction.

“It is an outrage that some nations would not only trade with such a regime, but would arm, supply, and financially support a country that imperils the world with nuclear conflict.”

This is a message to countries like Namibia, DRC, Angola, South Africa, Mozambique, Pakistan, China and mainly Iran.

Regime Changes

“The Iranian government masks a corrupt dictatorship behind the false guise of a
democracy. (..) Oppressive regimes cannot endure forever, (..)”

America will support any effort to carry out a regime change in Iran, to help the good Iranian people enjoying freedom of thought, of speech, of demeanour, of association; peace, security and prosperity.

“That goal is to help them regain their freedom, recover their country, and restore their democracy. (..) We call for the full restoration of democracy and political freedoms in Venezuela.”

America will promote a regime change in Venezuela. It will be interesting to see which other countries will join the American initiative – and it is curious that the European Union once again showed its lack of political leadership and why it will eventually die out (i.e. it is also a poisonous socialist nest).

Socialism

“This [Venezuelan] corrupt regime destroyed a prosperous nation by imposing a failed ideology that has produced poverty and misery everywhere it has been tried. (..) The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented, but that socialism has been faithfully implemented”

I am glad that President Trump joins us in the fight against this nefarious ideology. Socialism must perish – it has served its purposed (i.e. the creation of protection bills for workers). Socialism (a more chic name for Karl Marx's Communism) brought the world nothing but shame, usurpation, abomination, wars, the Holocaust, corrosive corruption, moral bankruptcy and chaos. It will die and order will be restored.

Those who preach the tenets of these discredited ideologies only contribute to the continued suffering of the people who live under these cruel systems.- idem

Right Wing Principles

“We are guided by outcomes, not ideology.”

So is DS. And that is the beauty of a reformed Right Wing: real, focused, Neo-Conservatism. Neo-Cons are not guided by ideology but by Principles, and the POTUS said it better:

  • “If we will not build strong families, safe communities, and healthy societies for ourselves, no one can do it for us.”
  • “Are we still patriots? Do we love our nations enough to protect their sovereignty and to take ownership of their futures?”
  • “Our answer will be a renewal of will, a rediscovery of resolve, and a rebirth of devotion. We need to defeat the enemies of humanity and unlock the potential of life itself.”
  • “We will fight together, sacrifice together, and stand together for peace, for freedom, for justice, for family, for humanity, and for the almighty God who made us all.”
  • “Now we are calling for a great reawakening of nations, for the revival of their spirits, their pride, their people, and their patriotism.”

And that reawakening can only be done through the application of Conservative Principles; but for that we need a Reformation of the Right Wing ASAP.

Anti-Globalism Agenda

“We cannot wait for someone else, for faraway countries or far-off bureaucrats -- we
can't do it. We must solve our problems, to build our prosperity, to secure our futures, or we will be vulnerable to decay, domination, and defeat.”

In other words: the EU won't survive, the UN will have to re-shape itself and re-design its intents because the One World Government concept will never see the light of day, if our countries are to survive. Sovereignty is the mot du jour and Patriotism is imperative.

"For too long, the American people were told that mammoth multinational trade deals, unaccountable international tribunals, and powerful global bureaucracies were the best way to promote their success. But (..) millions of jobs vanished and thousands of factories disappeared. And our great middle class (..) was forgotten and left behind"

Loss of jobs and the reduction of the Middle Class to historical proportions were direct consequences of Globalism. And this is why the world needs a reset: first we finish reforming the Right Wing, then we fight Socialism, Globalism falls, National Interests are pursued, Sovereignty is respected and security and prosperity will truly be available to all.

Migrant Crisis

“We seek an approach to refugee resettlement that is designed to help these horribly treated people, and which enables their eventual return to their home countries, to be part of the rebuilding process.”

Indeed,  refugees cannot be led into thinking they will stay in our states forever. Nay, political solutions are to be designed to ensure they go back to their regional origins (i.e. in the Muslim refugees case, Muslim countries must be encouraged to take their brethren in; otherwise they are to suffer diplomatic coercive measures).

“For the cost of resettling one refugee in the United States, we can assist more than 10 in their home region. Out of the goodness of our hearts, we offer financial assistance to hosting countries in the region (..). This is the safe, responsible, and humanitarian approach.”

Our thoughts are aligned. Not only it is cheaper for us to keep/send them in/to the “home region” but it is also less costly in terms of integration – since the customs are more similar – and there will be less cultural shocks.

International Security

“It is time to expose and hold responsible those countries who support and finance terror groups like al Qaeda, Hezbollah, the Taliban and others that slaughter innocent people.”

Couldn't agree more. DS has started with Brazil, Angola, Namibia and Portugal, but soon it will expose others. There are many ways of supporting these groups, and we have begun to show how Hezbollah and AQ have been increasing their wealth and expanding their networks through these countries.

“International criminal networks traffic drugs, weapons, people; force dislocation and
mass migration; threaten our borders; and new forms of aggression exploit technology to menace our citizens.”

These international networks are often composed by “Generals” and Secret Services Individuals stemming from Sovereign countries (in Africa, Latin America, Asia, the whole lot), Mafia groups and Terrorist Organisations. To clean this mess we need political will, to have political may need to go back to the wisdom of leadership decapitation.

“From now on, our security interests will dictate the length and scope of military operations, not arbitrary benchmarks and timetables set up by politicians.” - That says it all.

Great Plan. Great Speech. May President Trump be successful.
